He is reminded of his torment every waking moment.

While there have been things you have missed and certainly difficulties lie ahead for all of us, I hope that JOhn McCain’s life since his days as a captive will serve to inspire you to get through any tough times you may encounter in the future.

We all stand in line behind you, we have your back. Regardless of who wins this election GI Joe, know there is a huge army of supporters who have your back. We may not be as loud as those who would give you less than enthusiastic support but ours is steadfast. You sir, are the one with the righteous wind at your back. Barak Obama’s wind comes from somewhere else.

My vote has been cast in Indiana. I look forward to the results.

Fortunately in our two hundred+ years as a nation we have been able to use ballots to effect change instead of bullets. I pray that we will be able to do so for the next 200 years.

We must keep in mind that freedom isn’t free…it was bought and paid for by the blood and sacrifice of many.

We must never forget that our ultimate freedom was bought and paid for on the cross two thousand years ago!

We have the opportunity of a peaceful revolution every 4 years. We can overthrow the Government if we wish.

That’s not to say that all of the governed make wise choices every time.

Whatever happens, our Nation will prevail. We must keep the faith on that.

We do not depend on government institutions, which are intermittently wise or feckless as the winds of Providence blow, but on our belief in our ideals.

During the American Revolution, there was no presidency and the Continental Congress was about as flawed an institution you could find. In the War of 1812, the second war of independence, we had a floundering executive that had to flee the White House before it was burned.

But we’re still here. Why? Meditate on the second (and better IMO) part of the anthem:

Activists Taking Action: Unified Patriots

While what you’re saying has merit, this post doesn’t even address the fact that Senator McCain voted consistently against veterans benefits while Senator Obama voted for veterans benefits more often (when he did, in fact, show up for work). I’m not a fan of Senator Obama either, but if you wanted to have people vote for the candidate that supports the soldier and America, facts, not emotions, should shape an argument and an endorsement. But I’m glad you supported a war hero, even if he didn’t vote for increasing veterans’ education benefits because it would “hurt retention,” even though education is a major reason why many underprivileged Americans join the military in the first place.

I am absolutely despondent this morning.

Hubby skyped from Kosovo and it was all I could do to keep from sobbing in front of my kids.

We are good enough to save their sorry a##e# when the boogeyman comes, but not good enough to serve as the leader of the greatest nation in the free world. Nope, a communist sympathizing, race baiting, nanny stater and his cast of idiots is their choice. Bah! A pox on them all!

As important as this post was for me to write, I believe the follow up I wrote today is more important, please check it out.

I spent 26 years (active and reserve) and do not disrespect the armed forces. As your ultimate employer, Hooah, I expect you to follow the orders of the Commander- in- Chief, whether you like him or not. If it is too much, get out. In our system, voters decide who is respectful and patriotic, not members of the armed forces.

Incidentally, I doubt that you can find many veterans of any war who thought they were respected by politicians. In return for disrespect, at least, the all volunteer force gets much more money, benefits, and careers.

The military is just like any societal institution. There are persons who are worthy of respect, and there are phonies, dummies, and incompetents, who are not!
