I like Perry and I’ve thought about moving from Arizona to Texas because of his leadership of the conservatives/republican party.

Texas has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country right now. Reason: Perry.

The United States has the highest national deficit now. Reason: uhm………rinos?

The people who are supposed to know told us that there was an imminent meltdown of the financial system. Drastic action was necessary to prevent it.

Whether it was used properly or not, whether it was necessary or not, we didn’t have that meltdown.

The emergency is over now; there should be an accounting and the beginning of repayment or sensible lending by responsible lending institutions. That’s the only one of all these spending packages that has any excuse at all.

Stimulus as written, no. C4Clunkers, no. Buyout of GM and Chrysler, no. More spending for Universal Medicare, no.

I voted against every dollar of stimulus spending this year. In my view, the stimulus proposals were excessive. But once these laws were approved, and Texas taxpayer money was committed, I did my best to make certain the state got back its share of those tax dollars.

It’s the responsible course of action for our state and our taxpayers. Otherwise, our taxpayer dollars are simply sent to other states.

John Murtha couldn’t have said it better.

I also liked her claim that she has not voted for any stimulus money this year. Nicely forgetting to mention that she voted for TARP I last year, thus helping to set in motion and enable the whole bailout mentality that will haunt us viciously for years.

but at least when ran for the senate seat, the Democratic party of Texas rolled out it’s superlib(the kind that can’t win in Texas). Running for Governor, she has to go against the Conservative(the ones that win here).

If anything I would like to see New England secede and become part of Canada. You Yankees want single payer then move up to Canada.

Perry did get a little distracted early on, but I do believe that he’s figured it out and from what I’ve seen, been very consistent in his message.

And for the record, Perry never said we would secede, he said (quoted from HuffPo, so you know it has to be true ):

“There’s a lot of different scenarios,” Perry said. “We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we’re a pretty independent lot to boot.”

…and we are an independent lot.

Gov. Perry sounds great now. He seems to be one of the few GOP Governors that gets it. Did he have a major changes since the 2006 election where he won with only a 39% plurality? I did not hear very good things about him at that time. Was he just misunderstood or did that election knock some sense into him?
