That is a vicious slander which has been perpetuated simply because it is so easy to visualize.

BUT while a lap dog may fetch your slippers, he cannot lay out your clothes and help you dress, or fix you a nice cup of tea with just the touch of lemon you like, or open the door for you.

Lindsey is no mere "lap dog" at all; he is McCain's VALET.

Show a bit more respect in the future, please!

Alexander is worthless, worse than worthless. He responded to an email I sent regarding the Cap and Tax bill saying that he wouldn't vote for the bill because the costs imposed were too draconian, especially during these difficult economic times.

Sounds good, right?

He then went on to say that we did however, need to pass legislation that would substantially reduce our carbon output and that he would be working with other members of the Senate and House toward that end in the future because the threat of AGW was too great. I about puked. He didn't even reference the fact that EPA had suppressed their own internal study(ies) that contradicted "accepted" science on AGW which I had discussed in my email, or any of the other cites I gave showing growing opposition to AGW in the scientific community.

Similar to previous responses on other issues....starts out sounding like a Republican/Conservative and then goes all Al Gore on you. I almost called his office and asked what the H_## he was doing calling himself a Republican but I didn't. Not so this time. l am going to call or visit and tell him and/or his staff that he just needs to pull an Arlen Specter and be "honest" with his constituents here in Tennessee about his true love for all things Liberal.

Corker is at least a bit better in some instances but not much.

I called his DC office (took several hours to get anything but a busy signal) - the person who answered the phone could only meekly reply "yes ma'am...yes ma'am...thank you ma'am" What a disgrace. I think that Lamar Alexander is seriously schizophrenic... Just when you think he's starting to act and vote like a responsible conservative, he goes and does something like THIS! And we're stuck with him for another 5 years... How depressing. When your (R) elected officials are no more reliable than the blue dog (dead dog?) (D)s. I just hope the polite gentleman who answered the phone (I know this isn't HIS fault) has the guts to pass my comments on verbatim... !

for Lamar Alexander. Former Rep Ed Bryant was also running in the primary but he was too conservative. They wanted squishy Lamar and the same thing happened in 2006 with squishy Corker.

get rid of him, We should have a Squish Hall of Shame, List them all and campaign against them. Better the devil you know. Sure be shocked to see Conservatives campaign against them all.
Anyway what bills DOES Lamar vote for. Who donates to his campaign? Who are his friends an associates?
Note that to gain control of Congress Rahm sets up Donk-lites to run against squishes in the GOP.Rahm andthe Donks run to center. Sotomayor pretends she is the re-incarnation Of Chief Justice Rehnquist. WE never learn.

Even his ridiculous statement that he would support her even though he disagreed with her position on the 2nd Amendment.. That sounds like a legitimate issue to me to vote against her.. Sad we have to worry about our own party along with the dems.

if a nominee were to say about the 1st amendment what Sotomayor said about the 2nd? Her copy of the Constitution seems to skip from the 1st to the 3rd.

But her copy does seem to have an additional clause that I can't find elsewhere:
"Congress shall make no law restricting abortion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or the right of the people to petition the Government for payment for such services."

If her past actions weren't enough to indicate that she lied repeatedly under oath during her hearing, then her admission that the 2nd amendment doesn't really count should be enough to cause anyone with half a brain to vote no.

Remember how factcheck.org branded statements of Republicans about what Obama was going to do 'false' merely because Obama said otherwise?

This reminds me of that, strongly.

It seems that the second vowel in his first name needs to be 'e', not 'a'.

that we don't send them to Washington for comity or to get along with the other meatheads.

His, "I won't politicize nominations the way the Dems did" reasoning is what got us to where we are.
