Right Wing Extremists: Part II – American Legion responds, Reports of Monitoring Citizens

Outrage continues to grow over the Obama Administration’s propaganda about so-called right-wing extremists. The National Commander of the American Legion, David K. Rehbein, sent a letter to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, stating, in part, “The best that I can say about your recent report is that it is incomplete. The report states, without any statistical evidence, “The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”

In addition, someone shared this news account with us, in which MSNBC alleges that the Department of Defense is engaged in significant monitoring of U.S. citizen groups. Now, I am no big fan of MSNBC, nor do I like most of these anti-war groups who often disparage the military and otherwise undermine our troops. But, this is the kind of thing that is very troubling – and should give pause to all of us who wish to give our military and law enforcement folks the tools they need to carry out the Global War on Terror, but who do not want the federal government to be investigating American citizens without the requisite probable cause and authority.

UPDATE by Erick: Note the MSNBC story was from a couple of years ago. Everyone was outraged. The program was shuttered. “How dare they do that,” was the typical response. But now that it is the Obama administration targeting the right? Crickets.

If you are in one of the 20 states that have engaged in legislative efforts to defend their sovereignty via the 10th Amendment, then this report is calling them Right Wing Extremists as well.

Why should we be surprised?

Those of us that have paid attention for the last couple of years expected this from Obama. They have 2 years to do as much as they can before they lose the majority.

Everything is being put in place for the big gun grab! No doubt about it!

How many LEO’s will go along with this? Just curious.

…is afraid of We the People.

The DHS letter is simply laying the ideological groundwork for circumventing the 2nd Amendment. Not sure if this is an Alinsky tactic but surely it’s a Marx tactic.

The Left is terrified of us because they know it is we on the Right that have the majority of weapons AND the bulk of the military is now drawn from Conservative regions of the country. If it ever did come to conflict they wouldn’t stand a chance. Their only opportunity is to demonize us and thus drum up support for disarming us.

Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience.” — John Locke, 1690

And what about monitoring the internet?

I am a huge fan of Red State!

Kudos to all who dwell here!

But I’m also a fan (or was) of Polipundit, and wonder what the heck happened to it? Has some nefarious government agency taken it down for being too confrontational of The One?

The Early Show on CBS is currently trashing vets

at this very minute on Wed. morning. Morris Dees, founder of the Southern Poverty Center, was being interviewed just a moment ago by Harry Smith. Both of them were enough to make a decent person vomit in outrage. Dees was so very happy to slam returning vets who would be targeted for membership by these “extreme rightwing radical groups” due to their training in explosives and the lack of jobs for them to come home to. All the while, they played pictures of OK City bombing and Timothy McVeigh in the background.

Dees concluded his remarks with high praise for DHS for putting this very timely and necessary report out. I get the feeling that they are upping the ante as fast as they can to get the reaction from the right that they need in order to shut us down completely. If we won’t get violent and radical enough fast enough, they’ll do all they can to provoke us to it.

I have been avoiding this one until

I could stop laughing. Yes, I know the left-wingers are having a field day but considering how little they know of history, that is unsurprising. I’m not a historian by any stretch of the imagination and their lack of knowledge in spite of their string of degrees behind their names always amazes me.

One wonders how many Obama voters are now radicals for being veterans. Has anyone noticed the number of people who have been apologizing for voting for Obama that aren’t veterans? Are they also radicals?

Considering the DHS’ definition of right wing extremists is anybody who doesn’t completely agree with Obama, I’d have to say better than 60% of the country is now considered right wing extremists.
