Don’t Blink-Democrats Aren’t Done Killing Jobs Yet

While the Obama Administration takes its victory lap with the Democrats and their Union buddies over the job-killing Financial Reform bill they just passed, a host of other initiatives that would give special favors to Unions are waiting in the wings for the right time to be brought up for consideration. I say special favors because, unbeknownst to most of us, Unions made out like bandits today in the FinReg bill.

Another union-favoring job killer waiting in the shadows is the Employee Free Choice Act (in committee for now, waiting until enough votes can be bought by the leadership), which puts hundreds of thousands of jobs at immediate risk. Kentucky, for example, sitting at 10.5% unemployment and climbing, can NOT afford to lose even MORE jobs to such nonsense. A new video is up, courtesy of theWorkforce Fairness Institute and theCoalition to Protect Kentucky Jobs:

EFCA will allow Unions to strong arm their way into a business, force a vote on whether to be recognized, and have access to each ballot so they can single out those who would dare defy them. Worse, still, is that once a Union gets past the ballot, they’ll have the power to remove the right of the employer to demand an additional, separate, ballot and they’ll be able to force employers into binding arbitration and collective bargaining. And for the icing on the cake, the FED (read the NLRB and Craig Becker) will be granted the power to increase penalties on employers who discriminate against workers for union involvement…and, yeah-they get to define what that means on a case by case basis…with a little help from the Shop Stewards.

From the CPKJ Website:

“There is nothing free about the so-called Employee ‘Free’ Choice Act. EFCA would cost Kentucky jobs and hinder our economic recovery by forcing small businesses to close or move overseas. This is no time for the federal government to enact policies that destroy jobs,” said Scott Jennings, state director of the Coalition to Protect Kentucky Jobs (CPKJ). “Those seeking federal office in Kentucky owe citizens an explanation of whether they stand with Kentucky’s workers or Big Labor bosses. Job creation is the top issue facing our state and this legislation would cause Kentucky to lose even more jobs than it already has.”

More States should be following suit and making the Candidates out there looking to be elected in November speak up – on the record – about where THEY stand on this. If they favor it, they should be sent packing.

for states to start ignoring federal legislation that is unconstitutional. They can’t stomp their feet and complain about wha t the radicals in the Democrat party are up to when they have the 9th and 10th Amendments as their defense and their offense. Just say NO.

I can’t take it anymore. We have a radical leftist minority in charge of a largely conservative country who will stop at NOTHING to implement their agenda. So when will our side fight back? When?

won’t fight back until we get rid of the RINOs – or until we get some competition for the Republican party. THAT might wake them up!

How about

This is what we are fighting.......

makemyday (Diary) Thursday, July 15th at 9:46PM EST (link)

I get these ever since I sent a email to them complaining about setting up the porta potties in the Police Memorial somewhere in Washington state or Oregon during the campaigns. I thought about unsubscribing to them but they give me some insight into what they are up to.

“The Senate just passed Wall Street reform. The bill will become law the moment President Obama signs it.

This reform represents the boldest financial regulations since the aftermath of the Great Depression — and the strongest consumer protections in history.

Every door you knocked in Iowa, every phone call you made in Ohio, every dollar you dug deep to give — it’s all for this. The Recovery Act, health reform, and now Wall Street reform, on top of everything else. In a year and a half, this administration has made bigger, bolder progress than any president’s in decades.

We have a president who fights for all of us, every day. We have you, the best organizers this country has ever seen, who flooded Congress with calls and letters, had millions of conversations with friends and neighbors, went toe-to-toe with the country’s most powerful special interests — and won.

And we have members of Congress who bravely stood with the President, even as right-wing groups have pledged $200 million to defeat them in November’s elections.

First, take a moment to celebrate. This is an achievement that will make American lives better and protect our economy for generations to come, and it absolutely wouldn’t have happened without you.

Then, take a moment to thank the members of Congress who stood with us and supported these landmark reforms. In the coming days, they’ll be taking a lot of heat for defying Wall Street — and they need to know they have our gratitude.

Organizing for America supporters are signing a note of thanks to Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and all of the allies in Congress who stood up for reform.

Will you add your name?

http://my.barackobama.com/WSRVictory

We’ll deliver these signatures to leaders in Congress who supported reform, after the President signs this into law.

Thanks for all you did to get us here. I’m so grateful to be making history with you, and I know the President is as well.

what flavor of KoolAid do you prefer? Your comments are quite well written so it’s obvious you are educated. But you might want to check the facts behind your claims. Or if you already have and decided to ignore them, you will be a very unhappy socialist after November.

Read the first few sentences

Quote from Makemyday
‘I get these ever since I sent a email to them complaining about setting up the porta potties in the Police Memorial somewhere in Washington state or Oregon during the campaigns. I thought about unsubscribing to them but they give me some insight into what they are up to. ”

MMD let the Obama campaign people know it was disrespectful to the fallen Peace Officers by setting up the portable toilets in their Memorial. A not so subtle way of letting the Police know that was the only thing they were good for. To get dumped on.

Which IMO should have the Police Unions ticked off no end.

If you had read that bit of information, you would realize MMD IS NOT into KoolAid. He’s keeping a wary eye on those who do imbibe though. If I am correct in my interpretation.

The FREEDOM to take it back

bmcmusic Sunday, July 18th at 10:48AM EST (link)

Mitch ( makemyday ) , you were not obviously around when my ancestor who arrived in 1632 and fought to establish freedom from the tyrannical British rule, and then every war there after to give you the freedom to speak you mind. You may continue to speak you mind, it is a freedom that some people fought and continue to fight for. However, the right to govern is given by the people with their votes. The people have decided that European social democracy has failed in Europe and will fail here. Come November another change is coming.

I must say your indoctrination to the cause was very effective. They took your freedom to think for yourself and now you write as if you really believe what you have written is good for America.

Scott Brown voted for this.

NeoKong (Diary) Thursday, July 15th at 10:14PM EST (link)

(heart breaking)

Collins and Snowe too.
Brown is the new Specter.

Sigh.

Follow me on Twitter.

I never expected much from Brown

Kyle-MI (Diary) Thursday, July 15th at 10:44PM EST (link)

He effectively represents the voters of Massachusetts who unfortunately lean way to liberal. Same is true of the voters of Maine. Where I am disappointed is with the voters from otherwise conservative states who fell for liberals like Webb (D-VA), Hagan (D-NC), Conrad (D-ND), Dorgan (D-ND), etc.

Brown is not Kennedy

jcincy Thursday, July 15th at 11:00PM EST (link)

Yes, so far he’s been a disappointment to conservatives. But he’ll be there in the future for a moderate vote, where Kennedy would have remained a soulless socialist.

The bigger heartbreak for me is the loss of Dewine’s Ohio senate seat to Sherrod Brown. If Taft had not been corrupt and had Dewine not shifted left and acted like a wimp, we could have kept that seat.

Just to clarify, Brown voted for Financial Reform but...

LaborUnionReport (Diary) Friday, July 16th at 7:10AM EST (link)

He did not vote for EFCA (which is the main topic of Haystack’s post).

Who needs Brown when you have Collins and Snowe playing for the other team? n/t

gamechange11two Friday, July 16th at 9:20AM EST (link)

They’ll get one last hurrah during the lame duck session before one or both gavels get handed over.

After that, this fight will have to come from the states. Despite the high hopes, and a majority in one or both chambers, it’s highly unlikely the republicans will have the spine needed to put repeal in motion on any of Zero’s top agenda items. I hope I’m wrong on that, but the party leadership has historically seen the “party of no” label as a loser at the polls, even in a year when it is clearly a popular message.

I wonder

No offense, but the Obamoratorium is going to kill more jobs in one state...

MacAoidh (Diary) Friday, July 16th at 12:33AM EST (link)

…this year than all the stuff you mention combined.

We’re looking at the loss of between 50,000 and 100,000 jobs in South Louisiana alone by Nov. 30 as a result of the deepwater – and de-facto shallow-water – moratoria.

It’s an unprecedented level of destruction, and it’s being done deliberately. It’s like what the Turks did to the Armenians or what the Russians did to the Ukrainians, only in an economic sense.

What the reaction to this is going to be, Nobody can predict. But it’s hard to imagine it’ll be good.

Well... thing is this:

anotherindyfilmguy (Diary) Friday, July 16th at 1:42AM EST (link)

The country is about to find out to the hard way:
It can happen here.

When union thugs try to worm their way into a non-union shop what options are there?
Throw them out? Risk the fed lawsuit/orders/court costs etc?
Hope the attorney general for the state will fight for you?
Submit and be enslaved by your employees as they tank the businesses bottom line?
Fire everyone, shut the doors and take your money elsewhere? – I don’t the feds can force a business to remain in operation if the owner decides to shut it down… not yet anyhow…

This is just one more thing for the courts to decide later… and every time the leftists throw something new out there like this I wonder if the courts will resolve it as a balance of power or will we slip into something worse than the left has ever accused the US of being…

Santorum? Well, at least he’s not Romney…

The Power Elite Got Exactly What They Paid For -- Freedom From Taxation and Regulation

johna650 (Diary) Friday, July 16th at 8:19AM EST (link)

Yes, they passed their bill and they have their “regulations.” Not a single one of those regulations affect individuals and institutions outside the USA. The Power Elite already has what they wanted, which were the loot from a 100 years of middle class wealth creation. They knew they had to move their predatory game to a new casino. These rules make it impossible for new competition to arise in their old habitat, sort of a scorched earth policy. What they have not told you is that the investment banking industry has already found new homes in the Caribbean, Panama, Singapore, the UAE and Qatar, Hong Kong where they will continue the same old practices, make even greater profits free from all regulation and taxation and at a quarter of the cost. No need to pay a Chinaman 10 million. He’ll do the same work for $100,000. I think the Power Elite got exactly what they paid for from the Bolshevik dolts in DC, and that is freedom from all regulation and supervision and taxes. In the past you could vote with your feet. Today, you vote with your mouse. Too bad all of those New York liberals are going to be on the dole.

seems to have taken some lessons from a certain political party that rose to prominence in Germany some 75 years ago…

Union thugs = Obama’s Brownshirts?

Is the comparison to disturbing? Probably. A bit off? Maybe, but the essence is there. The attitude, and the temperament of the people surrounding the President have the same feel. Being from Chicago, and being exposed from time to time to groups of people who support the President, it is more than just a “we like the guy” type of support, it is an almost blind reverence to the man. It’s as if these people would follow him to their own destruction and do so willingly, completely unaware as to what is going on around them. The other thing I have noticed about the blind supporters of the President, is the almost complete hatred of George Bush, in fact, one person commented to me that they are still fighting the destruction left from the last President, stating “once Barack cleans up the mess left by Bush, he will take care of us, we can count on him for that.”

That it allows the President to avoid the mess of dealing with Congress in future bailouts, and allows him to take over any private business he deems a danger to our economy!

DONE FOR

superamerican (Diary) Friday, July 16th at 11:36AM EST (link)

With the takeover of the financial services industry, the brilliantly-executed change of virtually the entire U. S. economy is complete. Automotive manufacure, healthcare, financial services…what’s left will simply be swept jup. The unelected, unmotivated, unincented bureaucrats lead by economically-ognorant politicans soon will control and kill the greatest economy ever known to mankind. We are done for as a capitalist, free-enterprise society that our Founding Fathers risked their lives and fortunes for.

We have now traded Ki9nd George III for arbitrary politicians who, it has been perfectly shown, will do anything to gain and retain power.

Freedom? Gone!
Enterprise? Gone!
Capitalism? Gone!

The greatest, most successful experiment in society which brought freedom for each citizen to seek happiness the way (s)he wanted has been brought to an end.

Goodbye America as we knew Ye.

Sure, maybe Republicans will gain a Senate or House majority, but it’s too late. President Barack Obama will spend the next two years blocking anything, all the while enjoying a life of unbelievable luxury and ease, shooting hoops playing golf and chuckling as Iran gets a bomb.

Today I hold a personal wake for America.
