Where Like-Minded People Gather To Preserve Freedom In America

So says the banner image at a new website called Liberty Central, at least. This new site is newsworthy, in part because of who its founder is…and because (though officially non-partisan in nature) it intends to support and encourage citizen activism.

Founder Virginia Thomas (yes…Mrs. Clarence Thomas technically), is quoted in the LA Times thusly:

I am an ordinary citizen from Omaha, Neb., who just may have the chance to preserve liberty along with you and other people like you,” she said at a recent panel discussion with tea party leaders in Washington. Thomas went on to count herself among those energized into action by President Obama’s “hard-left agenda.”

What I like about her emergence onto the scene with the launch of this new venture is the level of enthusiasm and energy she brings to the “citizen activism” movement along with the depth of experience she has in this game. Her bio on the “About” page says she has “30 years of experience within the Washington beltway working alongside esteemed politicians like Dick Armey and for institutions like Hillsdale College, the Heritage Foundation and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” and adds that “Ginni is committed to serving as a clearinghouse for new and more effective online activism.”

The detractors will come…they always do when the opposition feels threatened… but this is a fresh new face that further legitimizes citizen activism and the efforts being put forth to stand up against the kinds of things our Government seems hell bent on doing regardless our protestations to the contrary.

That she is married to a Supreme Court Justice and opens herself (and her husband) to extreme scrutiny…and all the future “conflict of interest” charges they KNOW are headed their way…and that she is courageous enough to continue with the project DESPITE this, says a great deal about her moxie and her determination to do what she thinks is right for America.

I suggest you visit the site, sign up for the newsletter, and donate if you are so inclined…

[Note: And, no-I am not in any way affiliated with the group...and neither is RS...I just like seeing people stand up and stand in the way of a Government run amok-no MATTER who they are. We need all the help we can get in this fight.]

Rudely calling out the Supreme Court

blooch Monday, March 15th at 10:07AM EST (link)

at the SOTU was a bad move, Barry. You shouldn’t have got in her husband’s face like that. Now look what you’ve done.

Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm.

Detractors Will Come

erp617 Monday, March 15th at 11:24AM EST (link)

They’re already out there in full rabid dog ferocity.

Check out the vile and disgusting comments on this VC post aimed mostly at Justice Thomas and accusing both him and Mrs. Thomas of using her position to bilk money out of supporters.

The pubic hair Anita Hill alleged Justice Thomas put on the coke bottle was even mentioned as well as the fact the Mrs. Thomas is white and he is black (I guess that’s to update those who were in a coma or living in a cave during the past twenty years).

Sickening.

I thought it was a Coke can.

Guess this means we’ll be seeing Anita Hill on TV again soon. They are determined to write Clarence Thomas out of history, or at least reduce him to a pubic hair footnote, so we’re due for a refresh on the narrative.

Detractors will come indeed, and they are as vile as ever

The author of this article is John Aravosis. As much as we don’t depend on Wiki for accurate details, the info about this piece of crap is interesting. In this article, he paints a picture that Justice Thomas voted the way he did in the Citizens United case so that his wife’s soon to be formed group could accept corporate donations.

As you have said Dave P, thank you our good Lord for people who are willing to put on their waders, and plow right through the depraved in our society. I am absolutely thrilled that this new venture has taken root. I wish the site, and all those (our own Brian F among them) all the success that these active conservatives will bring to the movement, to take back this nation from the sickos. I have always been a great admirer of Justice Thomas, rumored to be the most conservative on the SC today.

Hey scope-

check out the comments after that post you linked…they’re awesome. Funny how we on the right call Obama’s nonsense “fascism” while they on the left call US fascists. Man I love this country.

Dave P- I did start reading them

but left after the first few. They incite a riot inside me. When I considered the site, and the focus of the site, I knew they had nothing that I wanted to hear. I am absolutely closed minded when it comes to these people, and what they have to say. It’s like arguing with idiots, as Beck says.

Online Activism

garyp Monday, March 15th at 11:53AM EST (link)

I am very happy to see that instead of talking and blogging someone of substance has recognized the need to organize a movement on line to fight against the already in place liberal movement that controls the net.

Not completely "not affiliated" with RedState

dhoerster (Diary) Monday, March 15th at 2:53PM EST (link)

I see Brian Faughnan is the managing editor of LibertyCentral.org, who’s also a regular contributor to RS.

I’m a fan of RS in general and Brian’s articles specifically, and also like what I’ve read about LibertyCentral.org so far. I just wanted to point out that while stating that RS is in no way affiliated with LibertyCentral.org (which may be legally accurate), it does ‘appear’ that there’s some relationship between the two organizations.

Umm. No.

Moe Lane (Diary) Monday, March 15th at 3:02PM EST (link)

Any more than there’s a relationship between RedState and the Society for Creative Anachronism because my wife’s a baronial officer and I have an AoA.

Yeah, dhoerster

People belong to more than one organization…here and all around the web. The “Organization” Redstate is in no way affiliated with the “Organization” Liberty Central and I specifically made that disclaimer to avoid this debate. Brian’s affiliation with the two groups is mutually exclusive.

I, on the other hand, am in NO way affiliated with them except that I happen to know Brian through Redstate, Twitter, Facebook, etc…

This really needs to be looked at with the purity it was intended…ME, pimping a really cool new site with a really cool idea and some really cool people working the levers…nothing more.
