renny (Diary) Monday, April 5th at 7:14PM EST (link)I have been much more political with my college students this semester, because I hear my colleagues preaching global warming and the Messiah Obama, so as the rare cons. on campus, I decided it was my duty to offer a counter to the lefty indoctrination.
Here are a few facts students are shocked about:
Lincoln was a Republican who kept the nation whole and freed the slaves owned by Democrats, Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican who made conservation a program that established five national parks, and Martin Luther King, Jr., was a Republican who led the mid-20th C. civil rights movement.
Young people are dumbfounded to think that Dems. started the civil war, Dems. started the kKK, segregation, and Jim Crowe, and Dems. filibustered the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Bills.
Dems. also involved us in four major 20th C. wars, and Vietnam was not Nixon’s war, but JFK’s war.
They find it hard to believe many of those greedy Wall Streeters were Dems.: AIG’s Joseph Cassano donated exclusively to Democrats.
Countrywide’s Angelo Mozillo is a Democrat who gave sweetheart loan deals to Democratic Senator Chris Dodd (CT), chair of Senate Banking Committee, and Democratic Senator Kent Conrad (ND),
Fannie Mae ‘s (created by President Johnson and Democrats to help low-income debtors buy houses) Frank Raines is a Democrat who received $20,000,000 in bonuses alone from Fannie Mae and then moved on to be an economic adviser to Barack Hussein Obama.
Fannie Mae’s Daniel Mudd, a Republican appointee in 2005 claimed that Democrats were his “family,”
Bear Stearn’s Jim Cramer is/was a life-long Democrat,
Google’s chairman Eric Schmidt contributes 5/6′s of his contributions to Dems.,
GE’s CEO Jeff Immel donates to Dems. and serves on an Obama advisory board. yadda.
Not too many greedy Rep. business people there.
Since my textbook is like the media, in the tank for Dems., I am also using independent sources for some assignments, like The National Review, because even my colleagues think Bill Buckley was an intellectual–the “standard” for academia.
