Again, from Horowitz' Newsreal:

This December, politicians, activists, diplomats and environmentalists from all over the world will gather in chilly Copenhagen, Denmark, to discuss “global warming.” The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will sponsor the Copenhagen conference, and its goal will be getting developed countries to cap the carbon emissions that cause “global warming,” thereby reducing the purported role that (primarily Western) nations play in the destruction of the Earth’s ecosystem.
...
Now, being the lowest country in the world, with an average ground level of only 4 feet, 11 inches above sea level, the Maldives does have its share of problems with tropical storms, monsoons and tsunamis. But here is the rub: the Maldives is not sinking. In fact, since 1970, the sea level has actually dropped 8-12 inches. Nils-Axel Morner, the scientist who has studied sea levels at the Maldives more closely than any other expert, said this:

In the last decade, [sea levels] have attracted special attention because, in the IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change]-scenario, the Maldives would be condemned to become flooded in the next 50-100 years. Our research data do not lend support to any such flooding scenario, however. On the contrary, we find no signs of any on-going sea level rise.

So much for those Maldives folks going underwater on their mortgages. The thing that amazes me is when you tell the AGW priests that the temps on other planets have also gone up in tandem with earth, you get ignored.

Back when she was a teenager in the '80s she used to be amazed at how quickly I could pick up the lyrics of all those "new" songs she listened to.

On Broadway ?

They say Blue Helmet lights are bright on Broadway.
They say there's always bullets in the air.
But when they're marchin' down the street,
And you can't get any food to eat,
The shine is off Obama and you're nowhere.

They say the UN treats you bad on Broadway.
And seein' them makes me aim straight that way.
'Cause how ya gonna stand real bold,
When you don't have one ounce of gold,
A pound of gold won't even buy coffee this day.

I say The UN won't last a day on Broadway.
We'll catch a brigade commander or two the right way.
We're close to dead, but I know they'll run,
'Cause we can play these here shotguns,
And we won't quit till The American Star is back on Broadway .

--------

Parody/Altered Lyrics ©2009 KL Solomon/SNP.

Apologies to Cynthia Weil, Barry Mann, Leiber & Stoller and of course, Mr. George Benson who really made the song work.

Cheers!

There is a diary here that discusses how the number of H1N1 cases has been overstated. But again, they'll say the science has spoken, and question whether we love the children.

I must say, at this rate, they'll be moving Atlas Shrugged to the non-fiction aisle very soon.
