Obama said last night that he plans to pay for Medicare by cutting billions of dollars of waste and fraud out of medicare. If there are billions of dollars of waste and fraud to be found in Medicare, isn’t that precisely the problem with a public option?

And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.
