really, given the age of these guys it shouldn’t take a lot of money to set up a private annuity to replace what they’re being paid. it would be an excellent way to prove that private charity is better than gov’t dependence, and to prove that conservatives aren’t the heartless monsters the left paints us as.

how many of you reading this would be willing to contribute to a private annuity for these guys? if it’s more than a handful, i’l go and do the legwork to set up the fund. if moe would be willing to contribute some add space and achance to help get us in contact w/ the right people in AK, this could be done.

Wonder what sort of response Obambi whould have if the budget proposal defunded pensions paid to the Tuskogee Airmen? I mean they really just flew around so the defended air, which belongs to everyone, not any particular state or gov’t. Right?

Another example of his COMPLETE disrepect for the military and the idea of service to something greater than yourself.

What a tool.

If any state guard member is called up for Federal service they are “federalized” and are essentially not under the state’s jurisdiction until after their federalized orders expire. Ask any guardsman deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan and they’ll tell you they are under Federal orders to do what they’re doing. WW2 was no different ultimately and the “o” doing this is just letting his mask slip a bit.

Also keep in mind that the Pentagon has a history (google it if you want) of treating the state guards and even federal reserves like unwanted stepchildren at times, especially when there is a budget crunch of any kind. The “o” probably did not just choose this at random and do it, but acted on a despicable recommendation from some desk jockey (who has lifetime employment and a beautiful pension coming as well).

It is a disgrace to treat those folks that way. Shame on both the Pentagon bureaucracy and the “o” as well as everything he stands for.

He denies native Alaskans their pensions for having served their country so proudly during WWII, on the premise that it will set the precedent of treating service as a state employee as federal service. Yet he is a supporter of Senator Akaka’s bill “The Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act of 2009 S1011/HR2314″, which he has proposed several times since 2000.

The Akaka bill would establish a new government for descendants of Native Hawaiians. A “United States Office for Native Hawaiian Relations” similar to the Bureau of Indian Affairs would direct federal policy. A “Native Hawaiian Interagency Coordinating Group” would oversee public health, welfare and education programs for Native Hawaiians who would be eligible. Spare no expense for his birthplace of Hawaii.
