Well, it looks like Alaskans Linda Biegel (Celtic Diva) And Jeanne Devon (AKMuckraker) who run the hate blogs “Celtic Diva’s Blue Oasis” and “Mudflats”, respectively, have found a new pawn.
Meet Sondra Tompkins from Anchorage, Alaska..
Now, if you do a quick Google search, you’ll see Tompkins continually described as a “reliably Republican voter”. And a “child disability advocate and mother of a special needs child.”
Seems nice enough. But as we all know, “reliable Republican”, when written in a newspaper, means they are a democrat, have voted mostly democrat, and contributed money to the democrat party.
You’ll also find Tompkins shows up at rallies and protests, such as one held last year where she was quoted as saying this, by a website called “Palin Truth Squad”:
Sondra Tompkins, a reliably Republican voter, found herself speaking out at the rally – upset, she said, because of Palin’s handling of the trooper issue and the example it sets for children in the state.
“They’re listening, they’re watching, and they’re asking questions,” Tompkins called out to the crowd. “Do we tell them it’s OK not to tell the truth? Do we tell them it’s OK to bend the truth? Do we tell them it’s OK to distort the truth if you have a gaggle of lawyers to defend you?
“It’s not OK, and I think Alaskans have had enough.”

Of course, we all know that “troopergate” was a put up deal that was helped along by Barack Obama, his then Chief of Staff, and current senior White House advisor, Pete Rouse, along with Alaskan democrats Kim Elton, Hollis French, Beth Kerttula, and Steven Branchflower. Nothing more than a witch hunt, that saw Kim Elton being paid off by Obama with a make work job.
Anyhow, why do we care about Sondra Tompkins?
Well, it seems that our good friends Biegel and Devon have recruited Tompkins into their little world of hate and depravity.
Now Linda Beigle has filed a number of “ethics complaints” against Governor Palin. All of them are bogus, and have been dismissed. But The Governor still has to keep an attorney on retainer. This kinda deal is why she has a half a million dollars in legal bills!
Well, now I don’t know if Alaska has a limit on how many frivolous suits one person can file, or if all the heat on Biegle made her nervous, but she decided to rope Tompkins into the ranks of the loons. Today, as reported by the other crazy up there, Jeanne Devon, and gleefully picked up by the Huffington Post, Tompkins filed a complaint against Governor Palin for “ethics violations”.

Spring is springing here on the Last Frontier, and with it pops up a brand new ethics complaint against the governor. For those of you keeping score at home, that makes twelve ethics complaints in all. That number, of course, includes the one Palin filed against herself last fall so the Troopergate investigation could be overseen by the governor-appointed personnel board, instead of leaving it solely to those rogue, mavericky legislators in Juneau.
The complaint will be filed this afternoon asserting that Palin’s involvement with SarahPAC constitutes “outside employment” and “misuse of official position.”
Anchorage resident Sondra Tompkins, child disability advocate and mother of a special needs child, is filing the complaint after observing Governor Palin repeatedly display “a pattern of unethical behavior.” Sondra believes that the tipping point for her was Sarah Palin’s most recent abdication of her role as Governor and apparent conflict-of-interest when she spoke at two outside events in Indiana rather than work with the Alaska Legislature during the most critical time, the end of the session.
The complaint alleges:
a) Governor Palin has entered into a contract outside of her official duties with the donors, employees, partners and any or all other participants involved in SarahPAC.
b) The recent partisan trip to Indiana by the Governor was purely to benefit personal interests, had no benefit for the State of Alaska and was in direct conflict with her official duties.
c) The Governor left the State to participate in these events during the most critical end-of-session Legislative activities, at a time where the legislators themselves are not permitted to leave
Tompkins is also one of the growing number of disgruntled Republican voters who find themselves disillusioned with the current administration.
Now this is the kinda silliness Governor Palin has to put up with on a daily basis from these loons.
The democrat controlled Alaska legislature took off right in the middle of their overpowering 90 day session to go on vacation. This is a bunch that had 440 separate pieces of legislation to consider, and passed 61. Nothing was said.
But nonsense aside, why in the world should the Governor of a state have to put up with this petty stupidity?
I know these loons have an agenda, but having watched Governor Palin’s Indiana speech, I can tell you, she was doing what Governors do,. selling her state! The whole first part of her speech was about how great Alaska is. A walking, talking advertisement for the Chamber of Commerce!
The rest of course, was a very personal speech talking about her new son, Trig, and the blessings of life.
You know what gets me, and continually gets me though?
And this has started to be a “thing” among the Beltway elite.
A.B Stoddard, and some woman I have never heard of, were guests on Bill O’Reilly’s show last week. The latest phony complaint by the RINO wing of the party is Governor Palin hasn’t done anything to help her fellow Republicans.
Yes, she passed on both the House retreat, as well as the big fund raiser.
But look at how the Governor has been attacked for going to a charity dinner, and breakfast, championing personal convictions of hers! Can you imagine what would have happened had she went to raise money for the GOP?
But, really, why should she?
I mean seriously, why should Sarah Palin help the Republican party out at all?
The Republican party has never had the Governor’s back. Not once.
I mean from the deal with Jeff Larson (the one who bought all of those clothes) and the way that was handled, to the incompetents in the campaign who tried to blame Palin for blowing it, the Republican party was more of a problem, than a solution.
And then there is “troopergate”! CNN reported that Barack Obama reached out to the troopers union almost as soon as Palin was announced.

Obama’s Chief of Staff, Pete Rouse, who worked with Kim Elton in Juneau in the 1970′s, was driving the bus on this.
Now this is serious stuff, where was the GOP?
I mean this was their vice presidential candidate!
Obama, and his Alaskan friends were able to craft a very powerful October Surprise, 4 days before the election, when the soon discredited Branchflower Report came out.
But nothing from the GOP.
Not a word.
And we all know that Governor Palin has had a non-stop assault on her by both the left wing loons and the RINOs in the Republican party since the day the election was over with.
And I do mean non-stop!
So what is my point?
My point is the Republican party needs to learn how to protect it’s own.
The Republican party is whining because the Governor hasn’t brought her star power to help them, but she hasn’t received even the slightest back up from Republicans.
Not one ounce of effort from the party.
We all know that if Sarah Palin was a democrat, and this kind of nonsense was going on, the democrats would declare WWIII on the Republicans!
So you know what, I think it’s time we declare our own little war on the Republican party!
If the Republican party is not going to help defend Governor Palin, or other conservative leaders, then I say we stop funding the Republican party!
That’s right, if they would rather spend time and money shoring up RINOs like Arlen Specter, someone who usually votes with the democrats, than defend one of it’s conservative superstars, and a strict constitutionalist, then to heck with them.
Conservatives need to stand up on two levels.
One, they need to stand up to these loons in Alaska, and make sure this sort of thing stops. Get involved, anyway you can, to counteract these people’s efforts to destroy Sarah Palin. There are any number of ways to do that.
And two, send a strong message to the Republican party that you are tired of them shilling for democrat lite candidates, while allowing good solid conservatives to twist in the wind.
I know that I, for one, will not be sending another penny to any Republican cause until they get their priorities straight!
Conservatives unite, it is time to take the party back!

But to assert that Sarah Palin doesn’t need the GOP is stupid. Not even Palin’s people are dumb enough to believe that.
The Republican Party is a coalition. We may not like it, but sometimes we are going to have Arlen Specters in our party. When that Moscow Show Trial that this President may want to have gets going, you may thank your lucky stars Arlen is where he is.
Palin is going through what she is going through because she is a tough lady and the D’s are throwing all the heavy artillery they can at her to try and keep her out of the game. It won’t work. This stuff just shows Palin and her people how good Palin actually is: if she was some jackalope nobody, the D’s wouldn’t care.
She ain’t a nobody. The D’s care. But Sarah needs to step up her game both with the Alaska state party and the RNC. I think you’ll see this over the summer, as she works the Life and NRA groups.

She returned to Alaska after the election, dealing with a supply problem to some native Alaskan groups, the state budget, pipeline issues, the stimulus money, local transportation issues, state supreme court appointments, and the day to day legislative matters inherent in any state. In the meantime, she has had to deal with frivolous lawsuits, constant unwarranted petty critisism about speaking engagements, and personal family matters that every bottom feeding gossip journalist has seized upon.
The liberal main stream “news” media obviously has an agenda against her. She is the epitome of a conservative – she’s a Constitutionalist, for smaller government, a social conservative, a pro-lifer (and that’s the UNFORGIVEABLE position) a strong defender of the 2nd ammendment, and in spite of personal family problems, is obviously for the ” traditional family”.
She has an incredible work ethic and list of accomplishments too numerous to mention.
It’s obvious why the left hates her. They instinctively know that she is a force to be reckoned with in 2012. The hatred is almost palatable.
When Chambliss asked her to help campaign for him in GA, she drew record crowds and energized the vote, tipping the scale for his victory.
When one of the democrats is attacked, fairly or unfairly, the wagons are circled and the fight is on. The dems are loyal to a fault.
I don’t see the same kind of reaction from the republicans. No loyalty. Maybe that’s one of the problems with the republicans. They are NOT team players. Maybe that’s why they keep loosing. Hanging separately.

Palin will have to Pay Her Dues

If I were her, I would hire someone like Ed Rollins to start kicking some butts and create the nucleus of a National Campaign staff to work the Midterms and target the Blue Dog districts where her presence will make a difference late in a fall campaign. Right now, SarahPAC is a sewing circle that is collecting money. It is NOT a campaign vehicle. The Romneybots who are out there criticizing her in D.C. need to get that.
That said, none of that relieves her of the obligation of working with the Congressional Party to get Republicans elected and raising her own profile in such a way the people can think of her as Presidential Material.
I know she’s smart and politically savvy, and I know she knows how to win and how to govern and how to lead. That’s why she’s a good politician. Time to put together a Presidential-level Campaign Team that can fight an insurgency, then a national campaign.
But she’ll have to work with the Party. She’s not used to this. Time to get used to this. Only the Party can get her to the White House. She can’t get there by herself.

Remember, Pete Rouse, Obama’s senatorial chief of staff, who is a senior advisor now, has ties in Alaska, having worked with Kim Elton in Juneau. The were both on the staff of a republican senator. That was back in the ’70s. You gotta know that the Obama White House is as plugged in up there as it can be.
These attacks by the bloggers are not organic. They are well planned and coordinated.

And, Randy Ruedrich is still Chairman of the Party despite her best efforts. Don Young is still in Congress despite her best efforts. She’s had to eat crow over calling for Sen. Stevens to step down. And, suffice it to say, she didn’t have a pleasant Legislative Session, one that promises to get worse as she plays games with the line item veto and the stimulus money.

With a Democratic Administration in Washington trying to shut things down in AK, the wisdom of fighting corruption in one’s own party, especially now that we’ve found out that Justice was infiltrated by the DNC, has come a cropper.
However, the upside for the State Republicans is that Palin wil bring a ton of money to the Alaska party, and as her power within the national Republican Party grows, so will the influence of those within the Alaska Legislature who are along for the ride.
Look, how does Palin secure her rear area? By buying peace with Ruderich and Jay Ramras. Is there poison out there? Sure. But I wouldn’t put it past Palin to bury the hatchet and make important concessions to these people. All they want is a piece of the action.
A big piece, mind you. Palin is going to have to eat a lot of crow and pride. But if you believe in Lenin’s dictum of one step backward, two steps forward, you do what you can to get your people behind you. She has no business having such a poisonous relationship with her state party.
The first step I outlined to you: let them have a hand in her AG selection. Give them skin in the game. It doesn’t take a lot to bring your legislative party on board, but you have to take the first step.
By that token, her Republican enemies have to be willing to let bygones be bygones for the larger interest of electoral success. If Palin goes out and helps a lot of congresscritters get elected in marginals in 2010; she’ll be a superstar and well nigh unstoppable for the nomination.
Don Young, Randy, and Jay Ramras will want to be in on that action. By that token, Sarah needs to do what is necessary and possible to make sure that these guys are inside the tent peeing out instead of outside the tent peeing in.
You hate to see Republicans lining up with Hollis French and that crowd to kick W.A.R. to the curb, but it’s up to Sarah to bring her party together. 2010 is just around the corner.
Oh, lastly, just my unsolicited opinion, she needs a trained Washington assassin like Ed Rollins or Karl Rove, if available, to run SarahPAC. Right now, it’s a sewing circle that collects money and, while it’s raking in the dough, I don’t think of Meghan Stapleton as the core of a national campaign team. She needs to sign a first round draft choice to tell her what to do.

I think she probably used every chit she has with the Legislature here by putting the turd in their pocket for dealing with the revenue reduction. Then, totally disingenuously, when the Leg starts doing the necessary cuts to deal with it, she gets into I can cut more than you can game with them on the capital budget. So long as it is all about Sarah, it’s going to be hard to even have the truce.

Obviously she needs to find common ground, but of course, the others need to want that two.
The problem with reformers, is they make people mad, a lot of people. Frankly, it’s a testament to her abilities that she even HAS a political career after blowing the whistle on Ruderich and others.
Of course, I look at it this way, if both parties hate you, yours and theirs, but the people love you, then you are doing something right!
Governor Palin had what, an 80 percent approval rating before she became the VP pick? She must be doing something right.
Even after the ankle biting losers went after her she still has an incredibly high approval rating, in the 60′s, which is unbelievable, because the Alaskan media, has had a full court press to spread the hate and lies.
The part that really gets me, is the reasonable democrats are more apt to come to her aid than anyone. I’ve seen many op-eds written by democrats in support of her various programs.
Here’s what I see. I see a party, the Republicans, who got sloppy, lazy, and a bit corrupt. Not Chicago corrupt, but corrupt.
Being a state with a LOT of oil, and a LOT of money floating around, it’s easy to see how it can happen.
The Governor put her career in jeopardy to out the bad guys. Now from what I can tell Ruderich wasn’t all THAT corrupt, but he certainly had to pay for his transgressions.
Others had serious issues.
I think you are right, they all need to come together. But with the Republicans voting with the democrats, out of what mostly seems spite, I’m not holding my breath.
I agree about her needing some hot shot political advisor. I vote for Dick Morris, mainly because he has been one of her biggest supporters, and he absolutely knows how things work.
But the way Alaska is, It would seem that her bringing in an outsider, no matter how respected, would only cause MORE problems.
Maybe after she wins re-election, and if she decides to answer the calls for 2012. Before then, it might hurt, more than help.
I know one thing, in my lifetime I have NEVER seen anything like this. Even Ronald Reagan, who was also hated by the party establishment, (as well as the democrats) didn’t have to put up with this many loons. (of course, no internet or 24 hour news back then, so no way to really fuel the hate.

I’ve read quite a bit about what went on between Palin and the “party that made her”. A party that was running rampant with corruption. Most notably, the Party chair who was being paid to work for the AOGCC, but instead was using that time to do party business.
Now for party hacks, that may be bad. But for normal citizens, Governor Palin is a breath of fresh air. She could have easily done what people like Barack Obama do, and just went with the flow. Who knows, she might be treated like a hero by people like you.
But it takes a lot of character to do what is right, even when it might mean career suicide!
This is the kinda person we need in government. Not more of the same!

It’s the RINOs that are hurting Sarah Palin, just as much as the democrats. If the RNC loses out on that money due to all of us Sarah supporters, they will have to drag their feet but help the governor out.
