Beck’s been going out of his way to emphasize that for his refounders, he wants only sources who are ratting out their own group. I understand this one as a tactical decision, and that one was probably made well before they started putting the pressure on, but the cumulative effect is still there. C.S. Lewis was probably not the only one to observe that the real moral struggle is usually stealing the first piece of candy, not the triple homicide at the end of the run.

And they aren’t alone. I still read the Washington Times, but they’ve been bending leftward too since Pruden left the helm. Tellingly, their circulation numbers are also starting to drop.

FOX is trying to build some interest in the VA governor’s race when just about everyone knows it’s “Put a fork in it” time.

Make some tension, encourage people to pay attention, sell the sizzle, get more people watching.

This morning, I heard Carl Cameron (I think) comment on the newsworthy political races, and he made a point of mentioning Bob McDonnell’s 20-year-old Master’s thesis, including the details that the Dem’s were trying to use to gain ground in Virginia. No harm, probably, but also irrelevant, and it sounded to me like an attempt to be “extra fair.” Brian Wilson followed up with an announcement to the effect that “although Fox News was only at the Republican candidates’ locations today, tomorrow they will be at the Democrats’ headquarters as well.”

On the Fox website, the following comment is included in the NY-23 story:

Meanwhile Hoffman, a wealthy accountant, has been gaining support from big Republican backers….

I’m not real sure why there was a need to include the phrase, “a wealthy accountant.” No similar statement was made about Democrat Bill Owens, a wealthy lawyer.

Perhaps they’re compensating in advance for Rush Limbaugh’s upcoming appearance tomorrow on Fox News Sunday.

Or maybe I just have a case of ObamaEars.

The White House (stately old mansion that it is) is right on this one. If the MSM had reported honestly on Rev. Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, and Obama’s entanglement with Acorn, while reporting accurately on the impossibility for Obama to fulfill any of his no-tax and spend campaign promises, he might not have been elected, and he certainly would have had to fight harder.

He can’t afford to have them suddenly remember those musty J-school lessons before the next election. I’d look for more threats against Fox, with arched eyebrows and pointed looks at the MSM.
