Some say that Sotomayor should be opposed for lying, but she she should also be opposed for telling the truth if the truth is to affirm what she said in the past. She simply will not uphold the Oath based on her wise latina; court makes policy; and slavery quotes.

People like Graham and Cornyn admit that she repeatedly lied in her testimony, but that they’ll vote for her anyway. Obama and his Congressional colleagues must get a good laugh out of how stupid our side is. Why the heck are we bringing Ricci and others to testify if we’ve already stabbed them in the back and raised the white flag and cried “Tio”?

….Representative democracy works when a U.S. Representative listens to the input of their constituents, and votes the way the majority of their district would vote. Only a Representative can’t listen if no one has ever seen the bill, or had time to provide input. They have to vote blind, which for too many, is voting the way their leadership tells them.

This is what Republican House Members were going to the floor to say Monday night. We were set to decry the loss of openness in the House.

Instead, we were met with a slammed door by Democrats, who are now committed to burying truth along with democracy.

The Democrats are the majority — for now. They chose to silence debate on the floor by gagging House Republican Members from using their historical right to speak after the close of the day. But they cannot stop us from speaking outside the halls of Congress and letting the American public know the truth about their ongoing attack against the very foundations of a free Republic.

Sigh!! And I *really* thought he was one of the good guys when he snagged the NRSC slot. What happens to these people?

Graham and Cornyn declare Soto “mainstream” in their abject abandonment of any semblance of standing for anything but themselves.

“Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., described Sotomayor’s judicial record as “generally in the mainstream” and said he thought she would keep an open mind on gun rights. He proclaimed her “not an activist.” ”

“On Thursday, another Republican member of the panel, Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, also called Sotomayor’s rulings “pretty much in the mainstream,” although he said her assertions of impartiality at the hearings were strikingly at odds with her past remarks.” [but I'll vote to confirm anyway.]

I guess voting against would complicate their future negotiations with the Dem’s. Is this the signal to other Repubs to do the expedient thing and vote to confirm?

In the hands of such as these, our republic is surely doomed.
