Not one elected republican in D.C. has called for Speaker Pelosi to step down.
Not one.
Un-elected Newt initially called for her to resign but now only calls for an “inquiry.”
Not one elected Republican has recognized that the Dem refusal to fund the “closing” of Gitmo and their opposition to transferring Gitmo detainees to facilities in the Lower Forty-Eight justifies the Bush position that they all (but Lieberman) opposed for seven years.
Not one.
But we are supposed to eschew Reagan?
Ironically, given the Supreme Court rulings, there is no legal difference between Gitmo and St. Louis, but the GOP is letting the Dems pretend to be “tough” on protecting the American people via their silence on how the Dems and Obama said that Gitmo made us more un-safe for the past 6 years due to Gitmo.
Not one elected Republican is willing to take on President Barack Obama, whose actions on numerous war power policies affirm the wisdom of Bush and repudiate his own policies and those of the democrats over the past 7 years.
Not one.
The spineless Republicans must be lead!
By us.
They are pathetic.
The United States of America is under siege my brothers, and the only chance it has resides in us!
Us? Non-elected conservative patriots.
For God sakes, don’t dare count on elected Republicans serving in D.C.
Call them out! SHAME them!
That is our only hope.

Yet, strategically, it’s much better to call for investigations, commissions, or whatever, and have some fun with this public relations wise. The simple reality is we need her to stay up there to be the face of the Democrat party. She is a massive inconvenience to them and a boon to our efforts in 2010.
I think that those outside the GOP leadership are playing this right, create a headache in the media and call for her resignation. Meanwhile, those in the GOP leadership can continue to call attention to the need of an investigation into Pelosi and the CIA to prove “who is lying” and make “Parriah Pelosi” the face of every democrat effort (i.e., if you can’t trust her on matters of national security, how can you trust her on _________?)
The republians should stand on principle and make hay out of this, but they are and should be politically smart about it as well.
Heck, she may eventually have to resign her spot in leadership, but let’s drag this out a bit longer, please – namely until November 2010.

Not only should Pelosi resign as Speaker, she should resign her seat in the House.
She lied.
Plain and simple.
Now others in office have lied. And others have been forced out of office for far less egregious actions.
But this is different. She is 2nd in line to the Presidency (you know what I mean…understanding that VPOTUS first in line…). She lied about what she knew, when she knew it and tried to cover it up and then lied again blaming the CIA and accusing them of lying.
This is something that cannot and should not happen.
It is time to call your Senator or Representative and the RNC. Be prepared for crickets chirping in the background.
They.Do.Not.Care.
Seriously, they don’t. My wife and I have called Cantor’s office weekly only to be pointed to that hapless NCNA website. We’ve called the RNC only to have some old dude answer the phone and patiently listen to our rants.
The Left has owned activism for the past 40 years. They go to school, learn to live off $10 a week while eating mac-n-cheese, rabble-rousing for equality and justice and all that other BS while us, you and I, go to school, establish a career, be productive, create jobs and wealth only to have these snots in government take it all away.
I will tell you one thing….come 6 months when you and I are unemployed thanks to us shedding jobs at a 600K jobs/month clip and we all of sudden have time on our hands for the first time since college summers while living off unemployment, that’s when things change. Productive, suburban America will rise up against those inside the Beltway, those that we elected to supposedly look after our interests, the People’s interests.
These vermin, these career politicians must be made to understand that there is no government without the people for it is our ingenuity, our productivity, our work ethic that makes it possible for them to stay in office. And it will be these traits that we have so ably applied in the private sector, that we will apply with the same determination and skill when we start cleaning house and ridding this country of those bent on destroying it.
Hit hard. Hit fast. Hit often.

But both parties have strayed from common sense. The republicans have become a haven of bureaucrats, job shoppers, and decayed fossils. And the Democrats have become so extreme they are a slightly less violent version of the Weather underground.

restofva (Diary) Sunday, May 24th at 12:12PM EST (link)While I agree with some who say leaving her there as the face of the Democratic Party is good for the GOP, for me it has gone beyond the politics of the matter. To accuse the men and women of America who do their best to protect this country of being criminals, is reason enough to step down from public service altogether much less the Speaker position. The same could have been said for Reid declaring the war lost and Murtha calling our soldiers murderers. I would feel the same way regardless of the R or D behind the name. I think there are plenty of good candidates to designate as the face of the Dems (my favorite being Barney Frank).
By not calling her out on it, they are indeed condoning it.
There are two forces at play here on each side of they isle
AceInTX (Diary) Sunday, May 24th at 3:48PM EST (link)Republicans…(Usually RINOS) are way to quick to eat their own while the Dems refuse to eat their own under any circumstances…
What’s so destructive when the Republicans do it is having our guys run to the nearest microphone to decry their Republican colleagues in the most public, loudest and most visceral way. RINOs in particular earn their cred with the MSM by doing this…
When you see a Dem in trouble, you see the Dems circle the wagons around them and defend them no matter what it takes…on in the rare instances where a Democrat is forced out…it’s not a public affair…they’re quietly shown the door.
The exception would be Lieberman but that wasn’t done by his colleagues it was done by Dem primary voters.
actually the democrats are just as nasty and moreso to their apostates

either way...the Dems don't have to do damage control because their apostates spend all their time tearing down the Party! nt
