Kennedy admited he showed weakness after the fact.

Reagan was not tested. Iran and then USSR surrendered. He tested them.

Libya surrendered to Bush. Pakistan agreed to be ally against Taliban.

Terrorists increased attacks under Clinton.

Didnt Sept 11 happen shortly have Bush Entered Office? Didnt WTC #1 happen after Clinton Entered. Didnt Cold war happen shortly after Kennedy Entered?

Great post, Mike. I agree. I see retrenchment as the centerpiece of an Obama foreign policy. I imagine Biden is foreseeing us winking at Russian aggression in the Ukraine and Byelorussia, and it won't look pretty when those nations are overrun, thus the call for dems to support Obama no matter what.

Truman once winked at Soviet designs on the Korean peninsula, and when North Korea acted on the opening, Truman changed his mind - it didn't look pretty.

As you wrote, this may have also been the cause of the Kuwait war.

We have to be so careful who is President. Our economic heath depends on national security.

Finally, we sent our ballots in for Palin-McCain. What a relief.
