...to having to study and learn Alinsky and Mao. I read Clausewitz but only because I refused to have a 2LT lecture me about anything. My critical analysis was learned from the Troop Leading Procedures and standard MDMP. Which Clausewitz had his effects on. If we're going to see ourselves/see your enemy, it's nice to have an SME like you on our side.

think the last scenes of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Someone like him, and like me when I'm working, lives in a world of checklists and If - Then statements. Your world revolves around if I do or say this, they are most likely to do this, to which I'll respond by doing this. And of figureing out all the probably responses that they could make and my response to each of them as far out into the future as I can predict with any confidence. I'm thinking of my objective and how I can provoke you to help me reach it no matter how much you don't want me to.

Early in my labor relations career I was very much a von Clauswitz disciple and an adherent to his "critical analysis" methods of prediction and planning. Back then unions were much more rational and even the most radical ones were led by old-school trade unionists and communists who were very methodical and predictable and who could also be brought to compromise if they saw something was the best deal they could get. By the mid-nineties, organized labor was becoming more and more dominated by public employee unions. If you want to know what happened to all the SDS types from the '60s, look no further than the leadership and staff of the big wall to wall public employee unions. As these sorts came to power, you had to turn away from methodical Germans and Russians and to Mao's Little Red Book and Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. By the late nineties, Rules was required reading for all my staff and understanding Rules was actually more important than understanding labor law and labor relations practice. Collective bargaining had become and remains simply politics by other means. So, watching Comrade Obama is pretty much like watching old game films for me.

Dark, dank, lots of cobwebs and frightened, scurrying rats? Like this...

I had been, till reading your comment, content to sit back and see where the Tea Party movement would go. But you are right, the hammer is forged its time to drive some nails. For the time being Beck resonates with many of those in the Tea Party movement now, his 9-12 project was mentioned often in video clips. He also mentioned something about what to do next on his show yesterday and promised to discuss it on his show on monday. The small individual organizers are also undoubtedly coming up with ideas about where to go as well.
What are your suggestions?

that have closed or are facing being closed because of the enormous cost of providing care to anyone who shows up at their ER's? And legally they can't turn anyone away. I have no problem with making sure that these hospitals are allowed to be reimbursed in order to continue to provide care to all who legitimately need it.

And then I have no problem billing the country of origin for the medical costs of their citizens who are crippling our emergency room systems.

I didn't ask you to change my opinions about the issues, I asked you to convince me that you were indeed here in some version of good faith. In previous experiences with your kind, most are only here to denigrate, ridicule, or they only last until they hit the "wall". That wall being whatever issue they can't abide our position on--abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, the War in Iraq, BOOOOOOSSSHHHH.......

So what's your story?
