Fred Barnes said something very similar to this diary on Special Report this afternoon.

President Obama knows how he can win back independents. I'ts very simple. All he has to do is change his policies completely on spending, on the deficit, on taxes, and on health care. If he did that... It's a simple solution.

And OH! how I’d love to see the tingle that would positively electrocute Chrissy Matthews should Obama do even half of those things. And as for Olbermann, Keef would cry all his pancake makeup off and be left looking like the clown he is.

And let’s not even imagine what Madame Botox would look like at the news that the POTUS was going to do all this stuff. On second thought, let’s imagine exactly that for grins and giggles.

If I’d thought of it, I’d have added a “fantasy island” tag to the piece.

The truly impossible thing he’d have to do is to become a different person. It’s possible for some, on some level, but not for him as President.

Yet my diary stands, because if he DID all those things, the economy would be healed and it would be obvious to all. New slogan: Barack “The Healer” Obama. Wait a minute–wasn’t he supposed to heal the div-eye-siveness in the country?

Hope and Change just isn’t working for me.

If obama does all that, he will probably humbly step down because he is not constitutionally eligible! Remember he is a consititution law professor? A constitution law professor cannot possibly violate the constitutional provision to usurp the presidency, right?

I see no charisma. I see a slick oil salesman, that is transparently arogant to me, i.e. a liar. The only way he redeemd himself in my eyes is a mea culpa in which he denounces his past and the democratic party, resigns and runs for state senator as a republican!

But if he DID those things, I think he’d be a pretty sure bet for re-election, because he’d be more conservative than W was, and he’d still get half his liberal voters. Change his direction on those nine points and Cap and Tax, and he could carry 50 states in 2012.

What an effing waste of charisma.
