I remember when Gianna Jessen, the survivor of failed abortion who is featured in the new TV, testified powerfully at the first congressional hearing on the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act in 2000. Although NARAL opposed that bill, only 15 members of the House voted against it. When it came up again in 2002, not a single House member voted against it. Yet in Illinois, in 2003, Obama personally chaired the committee meeting at which he killed a virtually identical bill.

Barack Obama and his campaign operatives have been misrepresenting his appalling record on the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act for five years.

National Right to Life has collected the major points of Obama disinformation and provides the documented rebuttal to each, in a White Paper issued on August 28, which is here:
http://www.nrlc.org/ObamaBAIPA/WhitePaperAugust282008.html

For example, it is not true that Illinois already had a law that protected all infants born alive during abortions. Existing Illinois law had no application whatever to many of the cases of infants who were being born alive during abortions.

Moreover, Obama did not oppose the bill because he said it was unnecessary; he said he opposed it because he thought it would be constitutional to define these very premature but live-born aborted babies as legal persons. That was a position that put him on the extreme fringe of the pro-abortion advocates, which explains why he has so aggressively misrepresented the content of the legislation.

Sadly, some defenders of Obama are still citing certain Obama talking points that have been discredited by independent analysts such as Annenberg's FactCheck.org and Stuart Taylor, a "pro-choice" legal analyst for National Journal.

http://www.religioustolerance.org/abo_aliv.htm

"This seems like such an obvious ethical mandate that one wonders who could possibly be against it."

They seem hard-pressed to list the "justifications" people have had for voting against this, and cite probate concerns as a possible reason not to vote for it. (!!!) (Thank goodness they're just quoting other people's reasons, they seem to be for the Act.)

I heard Gianna on Hannity's radio show yesterday and I watched her on H&C last night. Her's is a story everyone needs to hear. I went to bornalivetruth.org and donated, I hope others will join me in supporting this cause. This has nothing to do with "Woman's rights" this about Human rights. The pro Abortion crowd has always said no one can tell me what to do with my body, well theses are babies who are no longer part of their mothers bodies. They are natural born U.S. citizens deserving of all the rights of any other human being. Obama wants to make sure Terrorist and enemy combatants are given their "rights", don't infants deserve at least the same level of consideration.

Obama’s abortion-choice views are a disaster for our world. Below is a quote that shows the kind of harmful influence that the abortion-choice view spreads throughout our world. Psychologist Dr. Sidney Callahan writes, “The powerful (including parents) cannot be allowed to want and unwant people at will....It’s destructive of family life for parents even to think in these categories of wanted and unwanted children. By using the words you set up parents with too much power, including psychological power, over their children. Somehow the child is being measured by the parent’s attitudes and being defined by the parent’s feelings. We usually want only objects, and wanting them or not implies that we are superior, or at least engage in a one-way relationship, to them. In the same way, men have “wanted” women through the ages. Often a woman’s position was precarious and rested on being wanted by some man. The unwanted woman could be cast off when she was no longer a desirable object. She did not have an intrinsic dignity beyond wanting.”

Don't you know that the CNN, NBC,ABC, WaPo, NYT and the rest of the "Truth" Media have already concluded that Obama is the major supporter of the Living Dead Act?

Why are you bringing this up at the middle of the election? Can't it wait after election? Obama is busy running his campaign at the moment.

By the way, you're white... you must be a racist.

It's not my fault the doctors can't do the abortions properly. I mean, how can we reasonably expect another doctor to come in after a failed abortion to make sure the baby gets the proper medical care. That just burdens the doctor and mother who made the original decision to have an abortion. Plus there was that overturned law already on the books!

I'm being swiftboated! We need to get back to discussing the issues. John McCain can't use a computer, he's too old, and Sarah Palin hunts Moose. Lipstick!
