Sgt. Crowley is an Embarrassment!

Sgt. Crowley….you are a tool.  You said you did nothing wrong. You said that you did not racially profile the infamous Mr. Gates.  You have a meeting and say it was productive? What was productive? Did Gates apologize for his racist attitude towards you? Did Gates apologize for saying he’d see “yo momma on the front porch”? Did Obama apologize for saying you acted “stupidly”?  If not, either you admit to racial profiling, or you admit to beng star struck by the Obama show. Either way, I am disgusted by you, and I could care less what happens to you or your career from here on out.  I am so sick of our celebrity society, where people give up all morals and principals to suck up to “famous” people. What’s next Crowley? Got any kids that can do sleepovers at Gates’ freebie Harvard home? You are the epitomy of the problem with men in America.

U R overreacting

Crowley knows when to shut up and keep his nose clean. He did nothing wrong in any of this fiasco. He was just in the wrong squad car at the wrong time when a racialist paranoid decided to break into his own house and had the police called on him.

Anyone but a racialist paranoid would realize that getting the police called on you is the risk you take when you (1) break into your own house because you’re too much of an idiot to know where your keys are, and (2) don’t get to know your neighbors because they’re of the “wrong” race.

amen - it was productive - the very ACT of Obama's invitation was a tacit admission that he knows he did wrong and

that he is not man enough to admit it is very instructive going forward as more of We the People realize we have to vigilantly govern HIM, not vice versa.

Obama can’t be trusted and more and more know it.

I originally agreed with the poster on premise but not in the visceral reaction…but after the event happened…and I saw how stupid the set up was…with a table obviously placed there from the kitchen in an area so 100 camera men could spend 20 minutes taking pictures of absolutely nothing…and how small and pathetic the whole circus made THE ONE look…and the way CNN and the rest of the press be-clowned themselves covering it as if it were Reagan meeting Gorbachev in Iceland, I’m ready to crown him and give him a parade in down town San Antonio.

And he was overwhelmingly impressive after the follow up presser where he gave nothing away and stood his ground saying he and Gates had agreed to disagree!

The “Big Tent” analogy isn’t the correct one…the correct one is a MAGNET…we need to be a MAGNET that draws these independents in who are sick and tired of what’s going on in WashingtonFred Thompson

Not nice...way off.

This guy was damned right from the beginning. There is no way that ignorant professor was going to take back and apologize… He would no longer be a victim. Certainly Obama wasn’t going to apologize… he would have been seen as caving in to white people. I could hear the “uncle tom” and “oreo cookie” references that Sgt Lashley has gotten for not throwing his white partner under the bus. If Crowley came out and said anything negative about Obama or Gates then he would have been branded a racist again. You know that Crowley and Lashley are going to be targets from here on out. I can read the headlines now when he pulls over or arrest another african american–they will be damn sure to charge racism against this guy.

You may not like that Crowley didn’t come out swinging, but cut him a break. Good Grief.

Cut, Cap, and Balance–Imagine that, living within your means. What a concept

ethanmurray- Your way of thinking is astounding

Scope (Diary) Friday, July 31st at 10:27AM EST (link)

Had Crawley handled the situation your way, he would have been proven to be a racist, rather than letting Obama and Gates show the nation that they are the racists.

was that in the plan?

LISA BULLOCK-HOCK (Diary) Friday, July 31st at 10:41AM EST (link)

You have to wonder if they were trying to set this guy up. If he came out of the meeting firing mad because of how he was treated by Gates and the President–they could use it against him? Who knows, he better watch his professional and private life because you know the lefties are going to try and find something on him to make him look bad.

Cut, Cap, and Balance–Imagine that, living within your means. What a concept

I Call "Moby"

Between this diary, and his post in the Barney Frank one, I’m wondering if this is a Leftie who’s trying to make us look bad.

Hopefully, Neil or Moe can dig deeper into this one, and figure out if he needs a warning, or more…

Not a Leftie Just Tired

ethanmurray (Diary) Friday, July 31st at 11:03AM EST (link)

Just tired of men not being men. If you talk about my “momma” if you call me a racist, if you say I acted “stupidly” if you have a long history of anti-white words, I don’t want to meet with you for a beer. That’s just how I am, sorry if it seems a little insensitive. I don’t think that either Gates or Obama would “have a beer” with David Duke, not unless there was some big gain for them.

Sorry, but an invitation from the President is an offer that can’t be refused

civil truth (Diary) Friday, July 31st at 11:20AM EST (link)

Sgt. Crawley acted as well as he could given the stacked deck he was forced to play with. To have refused to meet with the President would have led to his public crucifixion.

What’s important is that he has acted with dignity and civility in this matter. Beyond that we need to trust that observers will recognized who has integrity in this matter and who does not.

The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis

A Cop Puts His Community Above Self

Swamp_Yankee (Diary) Friday, July 31st at 1:00PM EST (link)

You right. I’m sick of 15 minute stars. Any idiot with 15 minutes of fame surely would have provided some cute soundbites, would have used his platform to promote his personal agenda, would have milked all 15 minutes and probably would have a date with the today show and Letterman by now.

Note – Crowley is not a political activists. Sorry. He’s just a regular guy; a good cop by all accounts. He doesnt want to burden his brotherhood of officers with more inflamatory rhetoric. He doesnt want racial tensions to boil in his backyard. He doesnt need a deeper wedge in the black and white divide.

He refused to back down. He refused to apologize when the world wanted him too. He’s won. To pursue this further as some vendetta or political crusade is beyond him now. He has a job to do, and its not sitting around and posting on some blog. He’s got crack dealers, gangsters, mafiosos, and rapists to deal with.

That’s what gets me, he new he was going to come out of this meeting with no apology for himself or his Cambridge Police Dept. He should have known he was going to be used by these two racists to try and stop Obama’s poll numbers from going down. I may seem harsh, but I would have respectfully declined and stated that I had important police work to do. Let’s not forget….Gates and Obama started laying the groundwork to destroy Crowleys career and life. Crowley was lucky that the American people stood up and said “No” and also that Crowley had a perfect race relations record. I’m sorry, but if I had these guys talk about me as they did, and knowing that they both wanted to destroy my life, I would not be concerned with helping their poll numbers. I guess I am a little old fashioned.

Yeah, He Was Concerned With Helping Obama's Poll Numbers

Swamp_Yankee (Diary) Friday, July 31st at 3:20PM EST (link)

Spot on observation there. That’s why he went.

And he actually put the story back on the front page. Thank you, Sgt. Crowley. This should have faded away by now. But nope, we are still talking about it.

He didn’t go to get an apology. He went to quell racial animosities. The apology would have been for him, not for you. So why are you so obsessed? You are clueless. Armchair political pundits who only look at this from a macro political point of view.

Yeah, I'm Clueless

Will Obama meet with David Duke to “Heal racial animosities?” if not, why?
