Let’s Make A Pledge To Each Other

Next year the politicians in D.C. will be sending armies of people to every corner of the country. Some will be members of “A.C.O.RN.”, some will not.  Regardless, many of us will have a government agent intruding deep into our personal lives. The questions will be from how many times we flush the toilet a day, how often we vote, how much money we make, how we spend our money, and on and on.  I will refuse this attempt to even pry deeper into my families personal decisions, habit, and belongings. Of course the government threatens that if we don’t go along with their questioning, they will fine us thousands of dollars. I say if 50,60,70 million of us say no, nothing will happen. I believe that if the Supreme Court can find a right to privacy in a woman getting an abortion, that right to privacy outweighing the right to “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”,  then this should be a slam dunk!  Let’s all pledge to each other that we will cite our right to privacy when asked to participate in the census . The next logical step would be to establish, or fund a vigorous legal defense fund that would fight this to the Supreme Court on behalf of anyone and everyone being charged for not answering this illegal intrusion. The Census was established only to get a count of the people so that we would be fairly represented in Washington, and that’s it! I will only tell them the number of people in our household, and we are all part of the human race. I hope millions will join me in the battle to get back our full freedoms, and begin to roll back the government intrusions into our daily lives.

Do you have some documentation?

Do you have a link that outlines both the questions on this survey, and the penalties for failing to comply? I would think those are pretty necessary for a post like this one.

I'll Check On It

I was threatened last time when I refused, and nothing happened.I hear there is a five thousand dollar fine. I don’t care if it is a million dollar fine, right is right, and the constitution is still the law of the land. If millions disobey, the government will not have the guts to go after people. If the government does, I can’t imagine the Supreme Court ruling against the right to privacy. Think of the buffalo when they band together against the lions, they win every time, when they run scared, they are picked off one by one. As far as the questions, to me anything beyond “how many in your household” goes beyond the constitution. If someone wants to volunteer personal information, fine…if not they should not be threatened.

I'm not disagreeing with the principle of your diary -- not at all.

And I’m all for telling ACORN volunteers to stick it. ;)

BUT, this will be a much more powerful piece with documentation. One that many would be willing to send to the social nets and get people thinking about.

An enumeration of the populace.

Kenny Solomon (Diary) Thursday, July 30th at 1:44AM EST (link)

A count of how many people are residing in The United States.

For my part, I’ll be nice and allow them to have ages and male/female, maybe even names.

Now then, since we all know the O’Bots read RS and report back to Teh Mess-I-Yah and Rahm The Terrible, I’ll save them their Census-Taker’s gasoline allowance and billable time in my effort to be “green” for their sake (and maybe even someone’s safety showing up at my door)….. Considering my home is just me, here’s the enumeration …. 1 male, over 45/under 55. My name is on the mailbox…. hope they can read.

That’s all. No other information. Bye-bye ObamACORNhole. Have a nice day.

If anyone tries to step foot on my property without my inviting them (an invitation which will NOT be forthcoming whatsoever to Census-Takers), we have this thing in Florida called The Castle Doctrine, in which I am thoroughly versed. I will not antagonize in any manner…. I also will not cede to anything related to my rights and privacy as an American.

If I feel threatened, I may make the news cycle that day.

I also have this distinct feeling that I’m not alone in my modus operandi.

I'm looking up...

The Castle Doctrine as soon as I finish responding to this because I live in Florida!

I will only be giving the number of people in my house, too. Let them threaten. If enough people say “no” to additional info there won’t be a darn thing ACORN or anyone else can do about it. Strength in numbers!
