That’s one hell of a statement…… Stopped how ?
Israeli settlement building anywhere on occupied land is illegal and must be stopped, UN chief Ban Ki-moon says.
He was speaking on Saturday after getting a closer look at some of the Israeli enclaves scattered across Palestinian-claimed territories. From a hilltop observation post on the outskirts of the Palestinian city of Ramallah, the UN secretary-general saw the sprawling West Bank settlement of Givat Zeev, home to 11,000 Israelis who live in rows of red-roofed houses. The panorama includes Jewish neighbourhoods in traditionally Arab east Jerusalem, the Israeli-annexed sector of the city that Palestinians claim as a future capital.

“The world has condemned Israel’s settlement plans in east Jerusalem,” Ban told a news conference after his brief tour. “Let us be clear. All settlement activity is illegal anywhere in occupied territory and must be stopped.”

“I go to Gaza tomorrow to express my solidarity with the plight of the Palestinians here and to underscore the need to end the blockade,” he said.

The third paragraph up top here is what wasn’t in the original posted article,……… it’s there now.
I didn’t think fast enough to get a screen grab of the page without it…… so now the lead-in to my commentary there (which called them out big-time) looks pretty idiotic. Oh well….. Live and learn.
But the author still hasn’t added a thing, other than the quote……. unreal. That should have been the headline and basis for the entire article !
Mr. Moon said “all settlement activity”….. that’s not just new building…. that’s everyone living there too…… what he said was, ‘Jews, get out’.
By the way (if you don’t know), Israel National News is a right-of-center-leaning newspaper, radio and television outlet….. they should know better than to let a quote like that slide un-noticed.

US Middle East envoy George Mitchell, on his way back to the region, said he would also meet with Netanyahu on Sunday and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas the next day.
Right after talks with Mitchell, Netanyahu is to fly to Washington for talks with administration officials and Jewish leaders, although his office has not confirmed whether he would meet Obama.
On the way back, Netanyahu is to meet European leaders in Brussels on Wednesday, Israeli officials said.

George Mitchell should be barred from entering Israel…. Bibi should tell him to his face to suck on a lemon, get out of the country and to go play with his Muslim Terrorist buddies in The PA and the rest of the region.
and also tel him that Israel isn’t going to let Obama or anyone else cut them off…….. That Israel is cutting off Obama and his Marxist power-mad Constitution-usurping administration. No more medical R&D, no more desalination technology, no more laser technology exchanges……..
………….and most importantly, Obama’s barred from ever again ordering a corned beef on rye.

Jews have lived in Jerusalem for thousands of years. It is not “occupied territory.” It’s the homeland of the Jewish people, and everyone knows or should know this.
If Jews can’t live in Jerusalem, then where can they live? The UN might as well vote to exterminate the Jewish people in a second holocaust. At least that would be an honest expression of the UN’s actions.
What a dark day this is.
