Wonder when it will hit the news?
I guess Herr Goebbels hasn't approved that story yet.

Of course the Whitehouse bunkmate buddies at GoldmanSachs are doing OK.

Imagine that.

I hate sound cynical, but we may be past the tipping point as Kenny points out.

remark made me LOL.

And this from the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act—Reporting Requirements (Mar 2009)”:

"52.204-4 Printed or Copied Double-Sided on Recycled Paper.
As prescribed in 4.303, insert the following clause:"

Just another effort to reduce waste fraud and abuse. And oh yes, let no stone be unturned in our never-ending exertions to SAVE THE PLANET.

The miscalculations of the Won that your post relates could be a corollary to the actions of Hitler regarding small businesses as delineated in my review of chapt two of Lib Fascism. He wanted to put the big stores out of business (yesterday's Wal-Marts) so the true Aryan moma and pop stores would have a "fair" chance. Ahhh, universal fairness. It will kill us all someday...

I suspect the Won wants to either bribe or control small businesses into creating the new jobs his stupid stimulus plan has not.

Either way, it's scary. I've stocked up on survival supplies. Hope I don't need them...

I agree that there could be something fishy about this too. Not 3 hours before this became public yesterday, I was reading the Richmond Times Dispatch and front page, at the fold was a story saying that local health officials see H1N1 at or nearing its peak, at least in Virginia. When I saw this emergency declared later in the day I thought 'what is this about?'.

It could be nothing more than activating legitimate avenues to allow health officials deal with this virus by bypassing bureaucratic hurdles. Or it could be the start of something more nefarious....only time will tell I suppose. I do know this.....every leftist government in modern history has used staged, generated or otherwise occurring crises to expand government and consolidate power. This regime is no different. They've done it before in the past 9 months so I would not put it past them to use this 'crisis' to do the same. After all, these guys are cut from the same cloth as Castro, Chavez and Mao.

I do know this....if they try anything, it won't work. The curtain has already been pulled back exposing them as the Marxists they are. Obamao's domestic agenda is in disarray, foreign policy is a joke and he is steadily dropping in the polls. The donks will lose in NJ and by mid-double digits here in Virginia. He is desperate so what else can he do but ramp up crisis mode on an otherwise seemingly normal acting flu virus.

Since the federal government ordered in July that testing for H1N1 be stopped, how do we know that the current flu-like symptoms have anything to do with swine flu? What if the symptoms are in fact the result of poisoning from the distribution of sun-blocking, artificial-cloud creating aerosols.

Since the early to mid 1990's in the USA, there have been reports and photographs of unusual chemtrail patterns from various locations throughout the USA and other world wide geographical locations. When official military or government agencies were queried by alert sky watchers, the explanations, if there was even a response, were quite unsatisfactory...

Aerosol Barium salts were sprayed from planes over Panama, Libya, and during Desert Storm to make people sick and weak. Barium poisoning is worse than lead poisoning. The lungs are affected adversely. Many complaints of colds, flu, even pneumonia occur within a very few days after heavy chemtrail spraying over an area.

Aluminum causes extreme neurological disorders. Dementia, uncontrollable spasms, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's Disease can be caused by long term aluminum exposure. Breathing in those particulates over time is a definite long term hazard.

enough of the vaccine ready. I remember how the MSM used potential flu vaccine shortages as a cudgel to go after Pres. Bush. Nothing like using health issues as a political tool against a president when it suits their agenda. Now we have...silence.

Kenny, I think you document a number of good points, but I am not in agreement with the conclusions you draw. I still have a lot of confidence in our side and the majority of this country to do the right thing.

http://patterico.com/2009/10/24/obama-declares-swine-flu-emergency/

"The declaration enables hospitals to deal with the increased demand occasioned by more patients:

“Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius now has authority to bypass federal rules when opening alternative care sites, such as offsite hospital centers at schools or community centers if hospitals seek permission.

Some hospitals have opened drive-thrus and drive-up tent clinics to screen and treat swine flu patients. The idea is to keep infectious people out of regular emergency rooms and away from other sick patients.

Hospitals could modify patient rules — for example, requiring them to give less information during a hectic time — to quicken access to treatment, with government approval, under the declaration.

It also addresses a financial question for hospitals — reimbursement for treating people at sites not typically approved. For instance, federal rules do not allow hospitals to put up treatment tents more than 250 yards away from the doors; if the tents are 300 yards or more away, typically federal dollars won’t go to pay for treatment.”

I think this is a good idea. Normally I would have stopped this post here but given President Obama’s continued attacks on his predecessor, I’ll add what Obama would have said if this had been the Bush Administration: Too bad the Administration didn’t do this earlier. After all, a lot of places have been dealing with flu outbreaks for weeks. Where have you been, White House?"

I think WE all think in terms of our own small world when the reality is that America has over 300 million people with police officers, prosecutors, Governors', Congressional and Senate seats in our States and it just is NOT simple to takeover the populace. Obama just does NOT have the manpower to STOP what is the make-up of our Country as a Chavez has with his little 30 million people or any of the other LEFTIST leaders who can do that with their people. The REALITY is those people have NEVER had FREEDOM the way We The People of the United States of America have had and so it is always easier for them to be taken over. WE will NEVER allow that to happen and I think you know that!

Patterico is as against Obama as WE are meaning he is a Conservative and he does not have a problem with the emergency declaration to end the red tape that was stopping the shots getting to local communities..

Now I certainly despise this President but I don't believe for one minute that we will not be having elections in 2010 or 2012 and I really don't think WE want to go down the path of the left in this regards. If he were as all powerful as to end all elections then the governor's races here in VA and NJ would be null and void but they are not and in VA our next governor will be a Republican.

I know that is is easy to be fearful when everything is not as you would have it but I don't think we want to slide into paranoia. SERIOUSLY don't slide into paranoia....I like you too much :)

Still think we’re going to have elections in 2010 if these people aren’t stopped now ?

From what I've read, H1N1 is hitting children and people with underlying conditions such as asthma, pregnancy, weakened immunity, etc. hardest. As far as I know, these higher risk groups don't make up the backbone of our economy and infrastructure.

Declaring a state of emergency now when widespread serious illness within vital professions is not present, and there is not the threat of a breakdown of transportation, logistics, medical care, the electricity grid, the water supply is a serious overreaction. I don't think Obama has positioned himself to use a national state of emergency to consolidate power. He's actually diminished himself in past months, and too many people have firsthand experience with swine flu to succumb to fear mongering.

IMO, this is a miscalculation that will cause us to pay less attention the next time he declares anything an emergency.

From the testimony, they did not want to sign, and their execs are getting the pay cuts. I'd like to see them, or some AIG folks do it. As Rush said yesterday, these companies were only doing what the feds told them they had to do in order to expand or continue to do business. If anyone should take pay cuts, it's the mismanagers who ran up a 1.42 trillion dollar loss last year: the feds.

......because if some plain old civilian like me did know how, it would have happened already and worked out by folks with major clout, legal minds and dollars.

Since this entire mess started (officially) 9 months ago, my one question has been, 'Why hasn't anyone "on our side" in Congress, or another official position taken these passed and signed pieces of legislation to SCOTUS for a Constitutional fight ?'

The only answer to that I can come up with is that it hasn't happened even once because they're ALL part of the problem.

I don't think our Dictator In Training Pants cares and neither do any of his people who make up the inner and next-in-line circles.

They're going to do what they damn well please until they have everything in place or until somebody does something stupid, then they clamp down instantly.

That is, unless they're stopped in their tracks..... legally of course.

From Wikipedia (I know, great source):

The Supreme Court ruling in Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer established that presidents may not act contrary to Acts of Congress during an emergency.

Does this refer to standing acts, or acts that may be passed?

Really, for banks to really make loans to small business, we would have to burn the budget and spending of government and take it's ashes to have any money for banks to loan to small businesses.

helicopters spraying some virus germs around to really get this thing off the ground.

I remember just before the start of the Iraq War in March of '03, a lot of people in my area were having a really persistent sinus infection that just lasted seemingly forever. It was the favorite theory of some of the tinfoil crowd that Saddam had managed to infect all of us. No one was seriously ill, just felt lousy and really cranky because of it.

I didn't make myself popular by laughing in the face of someone who passed on that theory to me in all seriousness. Believe my comment was along the lines of, " So Saddam went to the trouble and expense of inflicting an infectious disease on us so we'd what? Irritate ourselves to death?" That's one way to get rid of local kooks.

Excellent writing, Kenny. This really scares me. Our family has been stocking up on foodstuffs, filling up a freezer, keeping gas supplies for the generator. I guess I better add beer and wine to the list too. I am still waiting for all those mean tropical Atlantic storms that Gore warned us about. We need the rain.
And thanks for the reco on my UN diary. It is all coming together.
