UK Guardian: Will California become America’s first failed state ?

Possible Epic Fail Alert……. Single State Version.

If world media outlets are picking up the story and ours are not (except for Teh Eeeeevil Fox Nooooooooooos, honest talk radio and some of the blog sites)………..

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/oct/04/california-failing-state-debt

“Los Angeles, 2009: California may be the eighth largest economy in the world, but its state staff are being paid in IOUs, unemployment is at its highest in 70 years, and teachers are on hunger strike.  So what has gone so catastrophically wrong?”

A few paragraphs into the article, we have…. uh oh….. Alert !  Alert !  Danger Will Robinson, Warning !……… Space Control has spotted a false comparison to an unrelated event and obvious problematic social status assumptions…… that if any known Conservative or Republican offered such wording, they’d be called raaaaaaaaaaacist hate-mongering killers-of-the-poor, etc.

“Outside the Forum in Inglewood, near downtown Los Angeles, California has already failed. The scene is reminiscent of the fallout from Hurricane Katrina, as crowds of impoverished citizens stand or lie aimlessly on the hot tarmac of the centre’s car park. It is 10am, and most have already been here for hours. They have come for free healthcare: a travelling medical and dental clinic has set up shop in the Forum (which usually hosts rock concerts) and thousands of the poor, the uninsured and the down-on-their-luck have driven for miles to be here.”

Now it’s Kenny’s turn to blast away at the wall that’s been preventing him from being labeld a vicious bigoted hate-mongering Republican cracker armed-to-the-teeth Jewboy.

“The scene is reminiscent of the fallout from Hurricane Katrina”…. As far as I know, it’s been pretty decent weather out West lately and fallout only happens with a new-kew-lahr thingy, so whatcha sayin’ Mr. Article Writer….. Teh Eeeeevil Booooooooooosh dropped a new-kew-lahr bomb on N’Orleans ?

“crowds of impoverished citizens stand or lie aimlessly”……… You buggering racist author.  How dare you call those sea-sponge-impersonating Americans lazy !  Oh……. wait……  You might be spot on there.

It is 10am, and most have already been here for hours. They have come for free healthcare”……………… While they could have been standing or lying around aimlessly at home near their own paid-for-by-the-working-taxpayer doctors if the damn uber-liberal state government hadn’t killed their own economy.

“thousands of the poor, the uninsured and the down-on-their-luck have driven for miles to be here.”……………….. If those people you’re talking about are “the poor, the uninsured and the down-on-their-luck”, how’d they get gas money for their cars….. hell…… how do they have cars in the first place ?

I’ll stop now.

The more those Blue States fail, the more we can get in there and clear out the riffraff.

Failure seems like the better option!

Why didn't the article mention this?

“California is only broke because we’re constantly paying the bills for the Red states.” ………….. I’m shocked that the Guardian missed the expert who pointed out that fact.

Seriously though, you have to wonder what the author was smoking. The article implies that the Governator deserves much of the blame, but if you manage to make it to the end you see that they give him credit for leading the push to redistrict impartially to break up entrenched state politicians. Hmmm…. The CA Senate and Assembly are both over 60% Democrats, and except for one Assembly session after the Contract with America, both have been controlled by Democrats since 1970. So hmmmm let’s see, exactly how much blame is due Ahnold in this?

Ahnold took over six years ago from a Democrat who was so bad that he was recalled. Even though Gray Davis spent money like he had his own printing press, the CA Legislature didn’t care for him because he wasn’t liberal enough. (!) So this is mostly Ahnold’s fault?

And if you made it to the end of the article, you also found a paragraph of praise for Van Jones plus a quote from him. So the Guardian is holding up a racist as a beacon of hope for CA. Mr Harris, please get rid of the crack pipe before writing your next article!

Lastly. here is the article’s description of the economic impacts of illegal immigrants on CA’s economy. I hope you don’t find these facts and figures too difficult to understand.

I saw this article earlier and had similar thoughts, but...

… one thing did jump out at me. No where did it mention all the socialist policies that brought about the current condition. No where did it mention the environmental wacko-ism that aided this mess.

All the article said was more wacko-ism was the solution.

The first rule of holes: stop digging!
