Got a call from a buddy of mine a few minutes ago – said to put on (oh God no) CNN. There was a story coming on that he thinks I might be interested in seeing.
Yeah, you could say that I was interested.
Lou Dobbs (the only sane person at CNN) ran video of Eric Holder talking about re-instituting the ban on assault weapons in The USA – to benefit MEXICO.
This press conference stems from arrests of over 750 Mexican drug cartel pieces of human garbage today………
From AP via ABC…… http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/national_world&id=6678860
At a press conference announcing the arrests, Holder also suggested that re-instituting a U.S. ban on the sale of assault weapons would help reduce the bloodshed in Mexico, where last year 6,000 people were killed in drug-related violence.
U.S. officials have a responsibility to make sure Mexican police “are not fighting substantial numbers of weapons, or fighting against AK-47′s or other similar kinds of weapons that have been flowing to Mexico,” Holder said.
This man and the rest of the un-American and anti-American people in power need to be legally stopped in their tracks before they incite an armed insurrection that will get thousands upon thousands of Americans jailed and/or killed.
Fox News: This story doesn’t mention the gun ban thingy. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,500305,00.html
I’m still searching online for the video —- if anybody finds it, PLEASE link it here.
By the way, if you don’t know this……. To Eric Holder, any semi-automatic firearm, or “military type firearm, including pump shotguns and any firearm with over a 5 round magazine or internal capacity are “assault weapons”.

We're supposed to give up our Constitutional Rights because some other country is messed up????
David123 (Diary) Wednesday, February 25th at 8:42PM EST (link)NO!
As a practical matter, making something illegal doesn’t keep it out of the hands of organized crime, so what’s the point anyway?
By the way, isn’t Eric Holder supposed to uphold the Constitution?

My thoughts exactly. Let Mexico deal with it's own problems
Praying (Diary) Wednesday, February 25th at 11:41PM EST (link)And I’m not sure Eric Holder even knows what the Constitution IS!
No!!!11!1!!1!1! The Bilderbergers are coming
HA! Since when have we done that?
scottbomb (Diary) Wednesday, February 25th at 11:56PM EST (link)Neither party has a very good track record on letting Mexico fix Mexico. I have long advocated that the best gift we can give Mexico is an air-tight border. Cut them off from sucking at the economic teet of Uncle Sam and their government would be forced to fix their own economic woes.
Funny thing though. Guns are illegal in Mexico. So how in the world do they have a problem with criminals owning guns? They can’t get them if they’re illegal, right? And surely the law-abiding Mexicans can defend themselves…. oh wait. No they can’t. Such is the “unintended consequence” of “gun control”.

Hand Grenades
jackbenimble (Diary) Thursday, February 26th at 3:25PM EST (link)I agree! The Mexicans lately have been making a lot of noise about the flow of weapons into Mexico. I don’t doubt it is happening. If they don’t like it they should be more supportive of the border fence because it helps them too.
I read a lot of the accounts of the skirmishes between the cartels and the Mexican Army. One weapon that is popping up in the hands of the cartels with increasing frequency is hand grenades. Last I checked, you could not buy a hand grenade at a Texas gunshow of anywhere else in America legally. If organized crime wants weapons they will get weapons.
Given the endemnic corruption in Mexico, I suspect the greatest source of arms for the Mexican cartels is illegal sales by corrupt members of the Mexican military. These arms indeed come from America. As I recall the Bush Administration was recently trying to push through a $1 billion dollar package of military aide. Dollars to donuts, half of these arms are quickly sold to the cartels and some corrupt Mexican got modestly rich doing it..

If the Mexicans don't want guns flowing into their country, let them do something about their border
JustLeaveMeAlone (Diary) Thursday, February 26th at 9:27PM EST (link)It’s a truism here in Texas that getting stuff into here from Mexico is hard, but taking it out is easy. If your home is burglarized in Houston tonight, and your guns and electronics taken, they’ll be crossing the Rio Grande before nightfall tomorrow.
And as for the 750 Mexican drug dudes taken out today, they’ll be 1500 to take their place tomorrow. Can you say “cucaracha”?

Can we make a citizens arrest?
I guess we will all be outlaws then. I am not to worried as Obama & Holder don’t know which end is up.
The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.
Actually, the Constitution has been violated

Like most AKs, I’ve kept my “slightly modified” Mini-14 in its nice, friendly wood stock just so it isn’t so scary to Lefties. Black and ugly is their only definition of an assault weapon. Guess they’d get my cute little .410 that I keep on the boat for halibut relaxing since it has an ugly old black composite stock.

Hey, one fine soul here on Redstate has already done a diary that sympathizes with reducing the flow of smuggled American firearms to Mexico. The story cited, if you go read, it mentions 1 AK47 used in the incident. The other numbers mentioned are sort’of kinda maybe numbers.
We as a group need to be very careful not to promote inadvertently the Marxist movement to disarm Americans.
In every Marxist government and every dictatorship in history, the first move was to disarm the populace. Remember Dictators prefer unarmed peasants.

If Mexico wants to stop guns...
fmaidment (Diary) Saturday, February 28th at 11:00AM EST (link)…they could simply start patrolling their own @#$%ing border…
But then, the same Coyotes who smuggle people into the US are the ones smuggling guns out. Better to have a few deaths by gun violence and billions of dollars sent back each year than millions of angry, unemployed and adventurous citizens upset with their own government…
Meanwhile push the Americans to give up one of their most sacred rights.

The number of smuggled firearms is
olsmithie (Diary) Saturday, February 28th at 11:25AM EST (link)a drop in the bucket, and just another excuse to change US ownership law. (The Reno, I mean Holder crowd doesn’t really care what the excuse is. Any will do.)
I don’t believe the cartels are using the occasional pistol stolen in the US to combat the Mexican military. If so, that battle would have been over long ago.
With the funds the cartels have they can simply fly in crates of “real” AK-47s and ammo at their leisure. The Federales are only a small hindrance to these folks., one easily fixed with a stack of cash or a bullet, unfortunately.
Bear in mind the Russians are building a “real AK rifle factory” (for military rifles, not semi-auto look a likes ), down in Venezuela. Then the cartels won’t even have to put them on an airplane to get them.
It is preposterous to think, when they can fly tons of illegal drugs in and out, to think they can’t fly any amount of weapons they want into Mexico and S America.

Doc Holliday (Diary) Friday, February 27th at 8:30PM EST (link)activist. The lefties think everything is an “assault weapon”. The legislators know the average Jane is so firearm illiterate they can lie right to their face. there are many videos of demonrats saying the Clinton Gun Ban went after rifles that “spray” rounds. They made people think the AWB banned fully automatic weapons when the reality is that it banned semi automatic weapons and specifically did NOT ban fully automatic weapons. yes, this sounds crazy, but it is true, if anyone is interested, I can explain it. The fact is fully automatic machine guns have NEVER been banned, although they have required a NFA tax stamp ($200) since 1934 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Act
the liberal demonrats want to ban semi auto (one pull one fire) weapons and weapons that can hold more than ten rounds. Obama has said he want’s to go further, maybe he only wants us to have flintlocks. The only positive here is that the Blue Dog Dems will likely not go for it, and if they do, we can likely get back Congress. Then again, even when we got back congress, and a weak on 2A righs President (Bush), we still had to wait ten years for the ban to end.
Never trust a lefty hoplophobe to tell you what an assault weapon is. These guys banned rifles with bayonet lug, like some criminal is going to launch a bayonet charge.
