What happens when a whiney drunk liberal economist runs to a whiney lefty former journalist hard up for a story of something on something to salvage her reputation? You get salacious nonsense like this from Talking Points Memo.
Horror of horrors, a possibly drunk and possibly crazy left-wing economist Rutgers named Susan Feinberg, and her husband who she probably calls her partner, saw Representative Paul Ryan and two other economists drink a $300 bottle of wine.
And all the lefty economist got was whine.
So she whined to Susan Crabtree, a former reporter turned lefty hacktivist, to write up a whine list lamenting Paul Ryan and friends daring to use . . . wait for it . . . no seriously, wait for it . . .THEIR OWN DAMN MONEY to buy the wine.
Ms. Crabtree felt the need to go to DEFCON 1 for this outrage that a member of Congress and his two economist friends would buy expensive wine with their own money. She’s never, ever written horribly about Barack Obama using taxpayer money for fancy wine at State Dinners. She’s never written salaciously about the liquor bills on Nancy Pelosi’s government funded plane.
But by God you get some failed Rutgers economist out on a birthday date with her husband at a hotel restaurant who gets all jealous that she’s not cool enough to hang out with Little Eddie Munster and his econ pals and . . . well . . . fire up the broom stick and quill pen, we’ve got a hot story and a little scandal on our hands. Rita Skeeter’s unavailable so lets get Susan Crabtree!
If only Paul Ryan had used your tax dollars, Crabtree, instead of getting crabby, would have probably spent those 1,276 words of outraged jealousy extolling the virtues of government spending creating jobs for even lowly sommeliers.

You have to know though that living in Washington DC you have to become a wine drinker in order to fit in with the crowd. Of course it might have been a good Wisconsin Zinfandel from Orchard Country Winery in Fish Creek, Door County. There are quite a few excellent wineries in Wisconsin these days.

renny (Diary) Saturday, July 9th at 9:42AM EST (link)The NYTimes ran something like 300 articles on how wasteful and elitist Nancy Reagan was in her ordering her own WH china and the designer dresses whe wore, but THEOSE “EXPENSES” were all on private money dimes. And some gowns were donated or loaned for publicity, which is now THE practice by celebrity culture everywhere.
The left cannot tell the difference between public and private money. which is one reason they cannot curtail the debt or spending. They have no understanding of wealth generation and how all of their “job creating” and “stimulus” garbonzas are worthless because they just shuffle revenues to states and localities which do not generate any wealth either.

I guess you don't comprehend the diary.
gekster (Diary) Saturday, July 9th at 4:30PM EST (link)It’s about a leftist complaining about a Republican spending his own money on wine for him and a friend.
And the irony is no mention of all the taxpayer money Obamanure and Michelle Antonettte spend on lavish vacations. Michelles’ shoes and clothes and such.
A good article would of been about Obamanure flying a pizza chef from Chicago to the Whitehouse abd back again (at taxpayers expence) just to make pizza for the King. That would have been a great article.
Instead this lefty shill berates someone, a Republican, for spending his own money.

gekster, bad guess, bad read of my post, if anything else
johnt Saturday, July 9th at 5:17PM EST (link)I’ll get back to you. My point in saying that the story is getting legs is that it appears to be spreading, by and with the usual leftist approach. Hence the term “economic royalist,” always applied to people of varying degrees of affluence by those who live for their envy & leftism. It was a parody of their mindset, and sometimes their campaign ads.
I also compare the wine drinking of Ryan to the willful financial destruction wreaked by Obama and in the comparison the absurdity and the trivia of the Ryan piece, “and the real story is the wine”, that wasn’t a tip off?
Try again. I promise to contact you though if I think I need help.

Spend or Not Spend, That is the Question
Andrew_M_Garland Saturday, July 9th at 4:42PM EST (link)I’m trying to get the Progressive story straight.
Is it good for the economy when people spend money? Or, is it bad when people spend?
Is it only good if Ryan spends on middle-class goods? What is the recommendation from the Department of Spending?
Maybe that is why Team Obama wants to take a big chunk of money from the wealthy. And, they want to take a big chunk of money from the middle class, if you want the truth.
Then, they can spend it in the right way, the politically correct way, the Progressive way, through a thoughtful, educated, and socially just bureaucracy.

Good vs. Bad
edintexas Monday, July 11th at 6:47AM EST (link)Good is government spending your money.
Bad is letting you keep more than a pittance of your money so you can spend it.

As you can see, breaches of expected ETHICS and Practice could have been a trigger for this Acedemic, and HUBBY, to commence Frothing. Finally, maybe Ryan got the last bottle available and The Gruesome Twosome were just P O ‘d it wasn’t Their’s. Jelousy IS a Big Motivator.
Feinberg an economist in training WINING
gregz Tuesday, July 12th at 3:27AM EST (link)Professor Feinberg, an economist by training, was stunned and outraged when she saw Paul Ryan’s table order two bottles of the most expensive wine in the house, which sold for $350 a bottle. This liberal/Statist apparently needs more economic training. If people that have the money stop buying things that people make; then the people that make the things will be out of work. So those people will be unable to buy the things they want or need and the people that make those things will be out of work.
The Statist’s tried this class envy approach when they imposed a luxury tax on boats and jewelry. When the rich stopped buying those things or went abroad to buy them the people in this country who made those things were out of work. For the Statist information, the rich do not have to buy things. The politicians finally came to their senses and repealed the tax.
Another point this economist in training Feinberg failed to comprehend is the economic chain from the farmer to the waiter; wherein each participant in the chain makes some money. Let’s look at it from the waiter’s point of view. It was mentioned that she was drinking an 80 dollar bottle of wine and the Ryan table was drinking 350 dollar per bottle. Giving her the benefit of the doubt that she does tip the waiter, 20% of $80 would be $16, whereas 20% of $350 would be $70. Now, which one is more beneficial to the waiter? Which one stimulates the economy more?
BTW she attacked Ryan, because of his Medicare plan. Medicare is going BANKRUPT and needs to be addressed. Ultimately, I would like to see a complete overhaul of the system and move towards privatization giving the people CONTROL over their healthcare costs. Nevertheless, the Obama Regime and the Democrat Statists cut $500 billion from Medicare when they passed Obamacare. I wonder if this economist in training Feinberg is aware of that.
