Barack Obama went to Milwaukee, WI yesterday to speak to one of the few friendly audiences he has left in America — Big Labor.
Our Victim-in-Chief, with no sense of history, declared that people talk about him like a dog. First, it is worth point out he named his dog after himself — Bo. Either the dog stinks or got Mr. Obama’s initials. It could be people are talking about the dog. And, our Victim-in-Chief should consider himself lucky considering the smears against many of his predecessors, including the most recent who was routinely compared by the left to Hitler
By the way, I think it is starting to dawn on the American public that the reason they don’t like him is not just that he’s a socialist. It’s a thin-skinned wimp. Americans like winners, not wimps.
The Victim’s speech is not worth remembering for anything other than its hypocrisy wrapped up in a sales pitch for socialism. Suddenly Mr. Obama is for tax cuts and Republicans are against them. Suddenly Mr. Obama is against spending. Suddenly Mr. Obama is against bailouts. Mr. Obama is for saying “yes” to everything and the Republicans are for saying “no” to everything.
The problem for Mr. Obama is that the American public believes him — he is for “yes” to everything, but that includes spending, bailouts, and ever greater socialism in our lives.
Consequently, while Mr. Obama may say “yes we can,” it is the voters, not Republicans, replying, “No. You can’t.”

Victim in Chief indeed
lynn2010 Tuesday, September 7th at 5:25AM EST (link)If it hadn’t been for that awful George W. Bush, everything would be hunky-dory. Now, why is everybody picking on me? It’s not my fault!
I remember telling a friend, right after the election in ’08, that I didn’t vote for Obama because I didn’t think he had the experience. It almost saddens me that I have been proven right. And it hurts too. I have been unemployed since January, and I can’t find work. Now, I have lost my car because I couldn;t afford the cost of repairs, and insurance was way beyond my limited budget anyway.
There is nothing I would love more than to find a decent paying job that halfway fits my qualifications, but even a waitress job is beyond my ability to procure. I have a BBA and 30 years experience, but I haven’t waited tables since college, and everybody nowadays has those computers, and they want someone who already knows how to use them..
So, for those of you who think all of us on unemployment are just welfare wannabes, you’re dead wrong. I have just me to worry about, but I know there are a lot of people out there who have kids. Everyone is suffering.
Thanks, Mr. Victim in Chief. I hope your next vacation is really hard on you.
I hope for your return to employment
edintexas Tuesday, September 7th at 7:43AM EST (link)Though I doubt it will be a result of anything Dear Leader will do. I don’t think those on unemployment are “welfare wannabes”, but I certainly strongly disagree with Pelosi that unemployment payments help create jobs.
As a Constitutionalist, I don’t believe it is the Federal government’s job, or power, to fund unemployment payments (states are another matter), or pay for teacher’s salaries, etc. That being said, I do believe in, and contribute to, charity (mostly Salvation Army) in hopes of alleviating some human suffering.
I hope so too
lynn2010 Tuesday, September 7th at 8:37AM EST (link)Thanks, Ed, for your words and support. I, too, strongly disagree with Pelosi on just about anything. UI may not create jobs, but it is keeping people like me from being forced to live on the street. How would one suppose I could find and maintain a job then?
Part of the UI that employers pay goes to the Fed, albeit a small part. And there is a provision for the states to borrow additional funds and to repay with interest. But, that would mean dealing with the government. As the government continues to grow under our “fearless leader,” it’s going to be harder and harder to get anything done. I can’t wait for Obamacare to take effect.
Save the money you contribute to Salvation Army. I volunteered with them for a while after Katrina, and I can tell they are as crooked as the government, if now worse.
Hope something turns up soon.
realskinny (Diary) Tuesday, September 7th at 10:53AM EST (link)My advice is the usual. Look for work instead of a paycheck. Hit up all friends, former colleagues and acquaintances for leads. Get out and talk to people as much as you can afford to. Most jobs are gotten through someone you know or meet—-not through classifieds. Once word gets around your church or other social/volunteer group you need work, something may turn up. You mention 30 years experience. My experience is that finding work after 50 is MUCH harder. The jobs I found after 50 were from people I met in bars. You can nurse a glass of ice water with a slice of lime for a long time. I was in construction then and many contractors would stop after work.
A word about unemployment insurance: The amount charged employers rises when the fund is depleted. The longer they pay benefits, the more expensive it becomes to hire. Unemployment is supposed to be a stopgap until new work is found. Any time over 6 months is no longer a stopgap. If someone needs welfare, it should be called welfare. The Democrats should not be using the unemployment insurance system as welfare.
Good luck and don’t forget to vote in November.
I feel your pain!!
prior21us Tuesday, September 7th at 11:08AM EST (link)I am 60, and have been out of work since Aug 09. I have managed to get by doing some labor work, but at my age it is taking its toll. I get a measly $177 a week in UI. I have looked for work in my old field as a Service Delivery Manager and Project Manager to no avail. Many, many interviews, but nobody wants to hire someone at my age it seems. I live in CA, where unemployment is officially at 12.7%, but I believe it is much higher than that. Now, I am looking at any job I can get at all. I believe the other poster (forgot who) that responded to this is right. You have to know somebody. I have been working that angle too, but without jobs, work is hard to find. I wish you luck Lynn, and hopefully this too shall pass.

Lots of federal jobs out there; hold your nose and apply.
Achance (Diary) Tuesday, September 7th at 11:24AM EST (link)You have to be willing to take whatever you’re remotely qualified for and put your pride in your pocket, but there are jobs unless you’re placebound. If you’re a registered Republican, you need to change to NP or D; generally they WILL NOT hire a registered R, and jobs above about GS-11 get vetted in DC. Working for the World’s most corrupt and incompetent organization beats unemployment, but it is hard on your head if you’ve ever actually worked for a living.

The saying in Texas is “all hat and no cattle.” He says he will bring a gun to a knife fight, then whines when things don’t go his way that it is all Bush’s fault. His excuse is he didn’t know how hard it would be to fix things. Well, Mr. Were Gonna Fundamentally Transform America, man up! Do the job you were hired to do, or get out of our way. Have the integrity to fix your mess, or resign. But, stop with the cry baby act. And, stop running away “on vacation”. Do the job or go home. No one likes a bully especially one who whines when he can’t deliver the goods. Either grow a set or slink off like the loser you are.

Nothing Surprising Here
red_in_sc Tuesday, September 7th at 6:42AM EST (link)This is typical of most liberal elites. They believe that they are smart and enlightened and anyone who disagrees with them is stupid, bigoted and racist. Osama Obama (Teddy’s name) is a classic elitist, with an ego bigger than Texas, so when someone disagrees with him, it is because they need education.
On Nov. 2, we will fundamentally change the United States, back to its intended Constitutional form.

0bama's comment is an affront to dogs everywhere
Wine Country Dog (Diary) Tuesday, September 7th at 12:39PM EST (link)and we are all wise to his talking about something vs. his actually doing it. How many times have we heard him say jobs, jobs, jobs? Yet what he doesn’t understand is that government doesn’t create jobs. All his plans are based on government handing out money (ours). His job should be to ensure government doesn’t interfere and gets out of the way by providing a stable tax policy so business and consumer confidence grow and jobs are created to meet demand.
0bama’s idea is for all farmers to send the oats for their horses to the government, which will run the oats through the donkeys and send the results back to the farmers to feed the horses. Then he wonders why the horses aren’t healthy and don’t do any work. Taking this little story back to the dogs, the old saying is “the dog has to like the dog food”. 0bama’s dog food is just a big steaming bowl of “Not Good”.
Change we can step in!
