You know I got your back regardless of any faults or words you may have written when there was less limelight. True friends are tested ONLY when it is tough to be a friend. This is not that time, but if that time ever comes, I will still be there. And I can comfortably speak for the site knowing all your friend feel the same way.

I am glad you are moving up, that should be all of our goals regardless of the venue. Just stay true to yourself and never listen to Ted Turner and you will be fine.

Each morning with coffee you start my day, along with a quick glance at Drudge and NRO. Like listening to Rush, I check you out to make sense of it all, push away all the MSM noise, and get to the grit of what’s really happening out there. Politics can make me kind of wacky and reading RS helps to make sense of it all and gives me a feeling that I’m not alone.

Your humbleness and strong leadership are just two examples of good conservatism. We know we are not perfect but continue to strive to do our best anyway. That’s why the left can’t see American exceptionalism, because our policies and efforts, although well intended given our role as a world leader and free nation, function in a messy world and the results sometimes reflect that. They reject our goodness when any small thing goes wrong and try to use that as a reason why we should give up. In the real world we know we aren’t perfect, just forgiven, and we conservatives continue to fight.

Erick, you are an inspiration to me politically and personally. As Kenny said, there are many of us here who have your back. Keep it up. Godspeed.

Yesterday, I tried to watch the ‘breaking news’ on Fox regarding the latest HC deform. I couldn’t stomach more than a few minutes of it, so I turned it off, knowing I could log into Redstate later and get the full analysis without ruining my lunch.

I am a very infrequent poster, and was a lurker long before I even had the nerve to register. However, THIS site is where I get my education daily. Erick, you and the others do the heavy lifting for the lightweights like me.

Good Generals lead the troops. They are not perfect. But they continue to fight, they don’t back down when the enemy has them sighted. They have earned the respect of their soldiers and their soldiers will follow, and defend, their General.

Speaking as a man who says stupid things like that all time to hide the fact that he says stupid thing all the time–don’t mention it.

Thank you as a matter of fact. Far and away, and for years now, this website, your creation, has been the most cogent, fair and principled examination of local and federal politics and economics.

I come here first to see what’s up and then I go to other places to see if they’ve been on top of things enough to catch on. Here’s hoping you can restore some of that quality to CNN.

Although I am new to RS I enjoy it. You and the other Redstaters have inspired me to contact my Bibb County Republican Party about being a committeeman. I have not gotten a reply. When I saw Krempasky and Domenech sitting in our dining room setting up this new thing called “RedState” along with some anonymous blogger called “Tacitus,” I had no expectation that it would get really big. They had had some success ruffling a few feathers with “PaveFrance.com,” and that was fun, but RedState has grown beyond what I ever imagined. And a large measure of that is thanks to your passion. (Shows me never to underestimate Krempasky, Domenech, and Treviño!)

Congratulations for getting the establishment to recognize that they *had* to make you one of those people.

I have been reading Red State for quite a while. It took over a year to even register. I try to not comment because I do not want to detract from the posts of some of the most intelligent, informative, and articulate posters I have ever read. This site is my source for all things Constitutional, Senate and House rules, strategy, analysis, etc.

You have my heartfelt thanks, Erick. Your writings and the writings of those you attracted to this site bring sanity into my world. I was beginning to think I was nuts and quite possibly born into the wrong era.

While I may have complained a few times about things here (part of the sysadmin mindset, looking for what’s broken), that’s far far far outweighed by the good you and all the other Contributors have done not only to keep this site going, but to use it to push our elected leaders in the direction they should be going.
