List of Items for the GOP to Begin Investigating Once They Take Back Power

There are a number of things the GOP will need to launch investigations over once it takes back power. As is usually the case, the party opposite that of the White House will make inquiries into a host of items once in control of Congress.

With today’s health care vote coming, it is time to begin considering what investigations there will be.

Here is my initial list:

  1. The bribes to get health care passed.
  2. What did the Democrats know and when did they know it about Eric Massa.
  3. ACORN
  4. Kevin Jennings’ appointment
  5. The Sestak promises
  6. The Andrew Romanoff promises
  7. Barack Obama’s foreign campaign donors and what happened with that money
  8. Obstruction by the DOJ of North Carolina’s non-partisan elections laws
  9. DOJ lawyers who represented GTMO detainees
  10. Democratic congressional staffers disrupting Republican offices in 2006 in Colorado

The list goes on and on. What else should be added? Let’s keep a steady going list of these things so we can get our side up to speed and ready once we take back the majority.

Consider this an open thread.

But that is huge. That the Left is completely willing to accept armed uniformed Blackshirts standing in front of a voting place for the express purpose of intimidating GOP voters is astounding. More than that, it is just plain evil. This must be pursued, even if it takes years.

11. Role of Rahm Emmanuel when he served at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
12. Fannie and Freddie Mac!
13. Completion of Chris Dodd’s special deals with Countrywide Financial on his condo in Ireland (among others)
14. Arrangement of asset distributions during the takeover of GM (labor unions were given more pennies per dollar than actual shareholders, in violation of securities law.)
15. Treason investigation of the vetting process of self-proclaimed communist Van Jones (and any other self-proclaimed enemies of America that were appointed by President Obama)
16. RICO investigation of SEIU including detailed investigation into the meetings between Obama and Andy Stern
17. Andy Stern
18. After conviction of senior ACORN leaders, investigation into all its strategic partnerships, including the SEIU
19. Investigation into Eric Holder’s failure to disclose (hide) his many amicus briefings on terrorist trials
20. Congressional Investigation into the legality of appointing czars to usurp congressionally and constitutionally designated cabinet authority

Items 21 - 30 for immediate investigation

YankeeConservative (Diary) Monday, March 22nd at 12:16PM EST (link)

21. Has the White House illegally given federal dollars to unions such as the AFL-CIO to support partisan legislative goals.
22. What business dealings does the Gianoulias family bank have with the Islamic Republican of Iran or firms that sidestep sanctions against doing business with the Republic? (if Gianoulias wins, a congressional investigation into his families bank will be nice welcome gift)
23. Did President Obama, or any senior members of his staff (Rahm), actively discuss with former Gov. Blagojevich the selling of President Obama’s former senate seat? (Do we really think he would have nothing to do with his own senate seat?)
24. Has Obama campaign bundler and Chicago hedge fund manager Kenneth Griffin (or any other bundlers) received any special tax loopholes in exchange for his campaign support?
25. Has the DOJ fumbled/sandbagged the Tony Rezko investigation? Detailed testimony as to the government’s evidence should be brought before congress.
26. Was Senator Obama responsible for the loss of heat during several Chicago winters when Slumlord Tony Rezko cut off utilities to several public housing facilities managed by Rezko, and awarded to Rezko management after recommendations by Senator Obama
27. Were any corrupt deals made with super-delegates during the 2008 Democratic to allow then Senator Obama to be selected, and not elected?
28.* Has Obama Czar Nancy Anne DeParle (formally known as Director of White House Office for Health Reform), violated Obama’s executive order requiring appointees not to participate “in any particular matter involving specific parties that is directly and substantially related to any former employer or former clients”. DeParle is a health industry lobbyist, and cannot possibly fulfill this pledge.
29.* Has Urban Czar, Adolfo Carrion (Head of the White House Office of Urban Affairs) illegally engaged in a pay to play with an architect he hired to redesign his home, but who also received housing project deals at the behest of Carrion in his official capacity.
30.* Did the White House purposely whitewash a federal corruption investigation into the offices of Vivek Kundra, technology czar (Federal Chief Information Officer), when Vivek was appointed to the White House. Vivek has a cute criminal history of his own, including evading arrest after being charged with petty shoplifting.

High Crimes and Misdemeanors

wayneepalmer Monday, March 22nd at 11:07AM EST (link)

There is proof that Holder lied before Congress during his investment to office.

How about ALL of the college records where Obama claimed to be a foreign student to get benefits? Isn’t that a felony?

How about we dig up all of his speeches, records, and his grades, NOT TO MENTION WHO ACTUALLY PAID THE BALANCE FOR HIS EDUCATION.

Same for his spouse.

How about we dig up who paid for his election and a whole bunch of money that paid to put all of these Democrats in office and whether or not the money came from foreign sources?

How about we actually investigate the thousands of fraudulent ballots cast in the last 3 elections in Wisconsin, how they may have placed people in Congress (or even the Senate) and maybe gave electoral votes to Obama that he didn’t actually win.

Why is an associate of pedophiles on the White House Staff?

Has anyone on the White House Staff actively conspired with Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, or nations that are hostile or that Americans are legally banned from doing business with.

What contact has the White House, representatives of ACORN, or other SOROS organizations had with the government of Iran – especially during the last Iranian election?

What efforts has the White House made to silence election investigators, and those empowered to investigate illegal activities and fund-raising by ACORN and other allied agencies or misuse of public funds provided or illegally obtained by these organizations?

There is a huge list of things that a Republican Congress can investigate and demonstrate to the public and these are but a few.

True peace between two enemies has only ever been acheived when one side has utterly defeated the other…if you doubt this truth visit Nagasaki sometime.

Now, we’re sounding as zealous for our cause as the lefties who wanted to prosecute members of the Bush admin.

THIS kind of zeal is why we will win.

Just don’t give it up, whatever happens today and in the next 2 1/2 years.

We need to teach these people a SEVERE lesson for threatening our liberty.

IF they get their victory today, they’d better enjoy while they can. The American people have taught every would-be dictator, who’s ever threatened their freedom, that they don’t give it up voluntarily. And every one of those dictators lost.

These bstrds are going to lose. It may start today. Whatever the case may be, we will take everything they value away from them. Then, we will castrate them politically and legally. We will WHIP our Republican reps into shape; no more ‘reaching across the aisle’ and no more caring what the other side thinks. They will rue the day they presumed to take our liberty. And at the end of the day, they will be empty-handed. That’s the BEST they’d better hope for.

aesthete (Diary) Tuesday, March 23rd at 3:08PM EST (link)

He’s more conservative than John McCain, and would probably act on his conservative views more often than not. However, he would also be similar to Ron Paul in that he has no problem with mixing with the crazies on the right (see: birtherism), and I can see that being a liability (particularly considering the propensity with which he finds himself in front of the mics and bright lights). I also doubt that he’ll be a go-to guy for intelligent commentary or good policy-making (again, like Ron Paul): he’s pretty much an anti-Paul Ryan, in terms of personality and characteristics, in that regard.

Those liabilities, plus the numerous problems that mbeck, myself, and virtually every AZ resident on RS have documented, should make JD’s candidacy a *very* low priority for conservatives. Instead, they should concentrate on recruiting Shadegg or Flake (love that guy), both of whom are viable, popular, and intelligent conservatives who would be a good ROI for any donor.

(“Red Fred” is the nickname given to the person/team that plays the opposing forces in a wargame. The color red comes from the now-defunct Soviets).

We’re acting as if we’ve won back the House already.

Looking at it from the Dems’ viewpoint, here are some things that would cheer me up if I was a Dem strategist.

1. The House is a dictatorship. If you have a one-vote majority, you still pick the Speaker and the committee chairs. No Speaker or committee chairs, no investigations or meaningful legistation of any sort.
2. A 70-vote majority. That means that Madame Machiavelli Pelosi can sacrifice thirty Reps this November and still have a majority AND some cushion for the next Stupaks.
3. If you decide beforehand to sacrifice or lowball your support for thirty sitting Ds, that means you can maximize your support for the ones you really want to save. Or, the ones you can most readily save.
4. Lots and lots of union and Netroots cash come November. Maybe not as much as last election, but still lots.
5. An MSM that, while weakened, is still out there, and still committed to Democratic politics. They’ll help me shape my message and distort or smother/”starve the oxygen” from my opponent’s. Case in point: AZ 8th, home of Gabrielle Giffords. The Arizona Daily Star, Tucson’s only daily newspaper, has NO editorials on healthcare in its online editions this week. None. It’s as if the Star board decided that, if they couldn’t say things to help Giffords, then best not to say anything at all.
6. If the D candidate is unopposed, what’s to stop me from “urging” Dem voters to vote in the R primary…even if they have to reregister as Republicans? This is especially useful in places where there are lots of R candidates. Case in point: AZ 8th, Four Rs are running to oppose Giffords. When Giffords won her seat in 2006, the Dems ran ads in the GOP primary. Expect her, and other Ds, to meddle (at least a bit) in the GOP primary, in hopes of getting a weaker general election opponent.
7. Giffords has 1.6 million in her campaign warchest and no primary opponent. Expect her to salt the airwaves while the Rs are still sorting out their candidate. Our primary is in late August; that gives Giffords months to prep the battlefield to her liking.
8. Close elections = Dem mischief. King County in WA, Franken in MN…need I go on? If the Dems can keep it close in some of these races, their Election Specialists can get them the rest of the way there.

I’m using Giffords as an example here, because she’s my Congresswoman. Expect all the other Ds to do the same thing.

Remember, they only need to hold onto a few seats in order to keep power.

Excuse the Eeyore moment here, but I don’t want us to underestimate the scope of the task we face here.

“Who will stand/On either hand/And guard this bridge with me?” (Macaulay)

From Eeyore Smagar to Kowalski Smagar: Here are some things we can do.

smagar (Diary) Sunday, March 21st at 9:08PM EST (link)

1) The GOP in the House and Senate needs to press the Ds on all the problems with this bill. I can almost hear the MSM chorus beginning: Let’s Move On…Let’s Move On. Yes, I know we have reconciliation coming up, but you know the Dems and the MSM (I repeat myself) want to get away from this story as fast and as far as they can. Let’s not let them.

2. When your Yes-voting Congresscritter comes home, ask him/her pointed questions about how soon your healthcare costs will go up. How soon should I expect my premiums to go up? When will my insurance company come back to us with revised policy options, that comply with Obamacare? Ask all the pointed questions the Ds in Congress have been ignoring.

3. When local media outlets print stories that support Obamacare, go online and challenge them. Register as a commenter on your local newspapers. Ask them who their sources are. Reporters hate being embarassed. If you embarass them enough, often times they quiet down.

Bottom Line: Keep the pressure on the Dems and their MSM supporters. The best defense is a good offense. If we can keep them off balance, it will lessen their chances they can mount an effective, coordinated defense for November.

“Who will stand/On either hand/And guard this bridge with me?” (Macaulay)

I forgot one

smagar (Diary) Monday, March 22nd at 12:28AM EST (link)

9. Wherever I can, run or support a third party candiate to split the vote. Case in point—NOT from my district—-is the Tea Party of Nevada Senate candidate. Betcha dollars to doughnuts he splits the NV conservative vote and Reid slips back in.

The Democrats are excellent political tacticians. Look what Pelosi pulled off tonight. Remember the “Secretary of State” project? When Al Franken needed a friendly Secretary of State in Minnesota during his recount, the Dems and ACORN had enough foresight to have one in place when they needed him.

Be confident that the Dems have studied the nuts and bolts of each Congressional race. Have we?

should also be on the list. Tie these SOB’s in knots. But far more importantly, DEFUND them. ACORN successors, tax exempt statuses for leftists, union payola, all of it. All under the rubric of “We don’t have the money”.

George Soros

Jeff Lukens (Diary) Monday, March 22nd at 1:02PM EST (link)

The GOP needs to investigate George Soros’ role in the 2008 market crash that essentially gave the election to Barrack Obama. He sold Lehman Bros short and was probably instrumental in the movement of money market funds offshore on 9/18/08 that precipitated the crash.

No. 11

11. The Republican Party refuses to support a Border Patrol Auxiliary. The Minute Man Project model is simple, effective and efficient. Designed along the lines of the Coast Guard Auxiliary would be the best organization model. Oh! I forgot. No huge government contracts to give out. No thousands of new public employees to hire. No reason to investigate. We know the answer. Congressman Campbell are you listening?

investigations?

great idea, Eric, but the first thing we’ll have to do, is get some Republicans or anybody who’s conservative or Constitutionally oriented, with the (being respectful) to follow through…

OK but

the first thing the republicans will have to do, starting in 2011, is straighten out the economy and get jobs going again. I’d say the economy, a sound energy policy (including drilling for oil/gas), enacting a Fair Tax for starters. Of course they may not get far in 2011, depending upon how many seats they get but the sooner we shut down the progressive Obama machine, the better. The republicans better also understand that after the people vote out the dems, they will come after the incumbent republicans that weren’t helpful. That’s the current mood of the people.

Items from the 2008 Election

leehazel Monday, March 22nd at 11:01PM EST (link)

1) The Indy-Mac letter leaked by Chuck Schumer
2) The role of Barney Frank and his “lover” employed by Freddie Mac
3) ACORN’s “legal” activities in Minnesota and other areas of widespread voter fraud.
4) George Soros and the mystery of $2Billion in bank withdrawals that temporarily shut down our banking system.
5) The activities of “The Fed” and why hasn’t an audit been performed.
6) The activities of George Soros and Moveonorg.com et al in lying to America about the status of our monetary systems.

These are all items that led to the Bailouts, TARP, and Stimulus Packages. Arguably, all of these benefited the Democratic Party, certain Financial institutions, the Automotive industry and its Unions, etc and so forth.

The activities of just about every one of Obama’s appointees and czars should themselves be subject for Grand Jury inquiries.

Every one of these should be an item for a Grand Jury and a Special Prosecutor.

Can anybody say Sarah Palin, she has certainly demonstrated capabilities to work and handle this kind of dog fight.

Couple more wayward Dem incidents

KBDay (Diary) Tuesday, March 23rd at 9:11AM EST (link)

Tim Mahoney. Whatever happened with that? He allegedly paid off his mistress he’d hired as a staffer. ABC said the affair had gone on since 2006 (he campaigned on family values and won Mark Foley’s former seat.)

Mahoney’s story slipped off into the ether of Dem-allied media.

Then there’s the curious step down of Robert Wexler. There’s a story there too if someone were to dig–it may have to do with his residency because he and his family lived full-time outside the state of Florida. He was residing with his in-laws in a 55+ community to satisfy his residency requires.

And no one on the face of the earth rather than yours truly wrote about the earmark Obama as a junior senator designated for a defrocked priest to run a family shelter for AIDS patients–he left the priesthood over molestation allegations and is publicly listed by victims’ groups. And yeppers, that shelter Obama helped fund with our tax dollars (among his nearly $1 billion in sponsored or co-sponsored earmarks) had kids living there.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Dem double standard.
