Unfortunately, my Congressman is an Islamofascist Pelosi Puppet who couldn’t care less what his constituents think.

But what is liberty without wisdom, and without virtue? It is the greatest of all possible evils; for it is folly, vice, and madness, without tuition or restraint.

My congressman, (Frelinghuysen, the only R in NJ, apparently) is totally on board with defeating Obamacare. I’d like to send a real chewing and watch their belly button cave in, but I’m in the reddest county in the state.

But I called anyway. Doesn’t hurt to say hi to your congressman and let him know what he should be thinking about every once in a while.

Criterion Chemical was in the black for FY2010!

Virginia Foxx, NC-5. Conservative as can be and wouldn’t vote for this thing if her life depended on it.

It’s nice to have a Representative you can count on.

Amen to that Trelaina. Jeb Hensarling (R- 5th TX) is definitely in that category. I’d hate to lose him, unless it was to the Senate (and hasn’t given any indication of interest in election to that “august body”).

My Congressman, Tom Price, spoke at the RedState meeting in Atlanta last August. If we have to worry about his vote in the least, we’re all doomed.

Let’s get down to brass tacks here. How much for the ape?

Don't buy the hype about ignoring reelection

RedFox84 Tuesday, March 9th at 6:45AM EST (link)

Despite the calls of Pelosi for various Congresscritters to ignore their relection prospects, most of them truly are motivated by being back in Washington for another term. They do pay attention and ARE influenced by the phone calls/letters they recieve and factor it into their votes.

Even if your congresscritter is a Pelosi puppet, they DO still pay attention to the number of for/against phone calls that they get. So pick up the phone and call.

Remember, the Democrat leaders want you to believe you’re alone and ignored.

I'll Do it Again - Call Dem Bill Foster - IL-14

I’ve done it before on this subject & got the same “generic” lousy answer that the WH tells all of them to say when asked about voting for this. Guess I’ll do it again. Me thinks Foster is a cliff diver, but this time, there’s no ocean below, just rocks, when he jumps.

Ready, Fire, Aim: Parker Griffith

texasgalt (Diary) Monday, March 8th at 3:11PM EST (link)

Leader Boehner is down in Griffith’s district today leading a fundraiser for him. ( I suppose this means Griffith is “chosen”. Griffith gave the Republican address on Saturday to refute the One’s Saturday healthcare remarks.

Democrats are protesting outside his district office today. Sadly, tea party activists are holding their own protest against Griffith at the same time. This is a
dumb as dirt move for the tea party crowd. I know TPers in the district don’t like Griffith, but the guy is a NO vote on the cramdown and he switched parties over it.

It’s best to hold fire until there is a viable alternative to Griffith or at least until he votes on the HC bill. But no for them, it is ready, fire, aim. The tea party folks are new at this and in need of mentoring and intelligent encouragement.

Gerrymandered my vote away

RoscoeP Monday, March 8th at 3:19PM EST (link)

Unfortunately, I live in extreme southern Cobb county . . . so extreme in fact that my zip code and address don’t exist when trying to find my representative who I know is Tom Price (R). Personally I’d rather live ten feet further south and have the option to vote against David Scott (D).

Fortunately,

momo Monday, March 8th at 3:58PM EST (link)

my Republican congressman is against the bill. Unfortunately, my parents congressman is a blue dog who votes with the party 86% of the time so I called his office and used my mother’s name since she is out of town!!!

When you call, your congresscritter ask

texasgalt (Diary) Monday, March 8th at 4:05PM EST (link)

if he/she knows that Secretary HHS, Sebelius will be required to match the personal information of Exchange health care applicants with the Treasury Department, Secretary of Social Security and Homeland Security (page 272-275). And then ask about the $25,000 penalty for making a “information mistake” or if they determine the mistake was intentional, the fine can be $250,000.

Ask your representative’s Legislative Aid if she knows that citizens below the poverty line can be exempted from the requirement to be insured. Ask about the waiver for religious reasons. This represents potentially millions of people.

Ask how much money the Secretary is required to immediately appropriate from the treasury to set up the high risk pool required by the bill. Then ask what happens if the money runs low. (If the 5 Billion doesn’t cover all those seeking insurance, Secretary HHS get to do what ever she wants to do about the shortage.

***And if you really want to mess with the LA ask what this means:

(calculate small businesshealth care credit phase out)

‘‘(c) PHASEOUT OF CREDIT AMOUNT BASED ON NUM
BER OF EMPLOYEES AND AVERAGE WAGES.—The amount
12 of the credit determined under subsection (b) without regard
13 to this subsection shall be reduced (but not below zero) by
14 the sum of the following amounts:
15 ‘‘(1) Such amount multiplied by a fraction the
16 numerator of which is the total number of full-time
17 equivalent employees of the employer in excess of 10
18 and the denominator of which is 15.
19 ‘‘(2) Such amount multiplied by a fraction the
20 numerator of which is the average annual wages of
21 the employer in excess of the dollar amount in effect
22 under subsection (d)(3)(B) and the denominator blah, blah, blah

Sebelius will have more power than the President if the cramdown is successful.

They hate the paper trail. Some turn their faxes off, but in many cases it will eventually go through.

If you are really motivated, just show up at the district office nearest you. Call first, and if they make excuses, just drop in. If you are connected, take friends with you. Be prepared for some pushback if your rep is really in the tank.

Shimkus wouldn't dare support this

teridavisnewman (Diary) Tuesday, March 9th at 7:56AM EST (link)

I live in IL-19 and Shimkus wouldn’t dare vote for this. I’m running against Costello in IL-12 who DID vote for this pig of a bill on November 7th and votes 98% with the party line and I’ve been hammering him for it during the campaign so it’s going to boil down to who he’s more afraid of–me or Nancy Pelosi. He’s pretty arrogant, and he’s operating under the assumption he can have his seat for as long as he wants it, but if he votes for this bill OR EVEN IF IT PASSES BECAUSE HE VOTED FOR IT THE FIRST TIME, it will be curtains for him. People in the street are very angry with him–he’s put all of his family members on the government payroll in very soft high-paying jobs that were not advertised and no one else got to compete for them and he took 3 million in campaign “contributions” RUNNING UNOPPOSED and people all over the district consider him to be a corrupt “Chicago machine” politician. He’s bleeding, but he will hemorrhage if he votes for this health care or it passes the House since he voted for it on 11/7/09 and it could have been the deciding vote. Health care is huge in the district as we have a huge senior demographic here, and ALL of them oppose it.

I went to a Brady event last night. He has a good message

Brian Hibbert (Diary) Tuesday, March 9th at 9:45PM EST (link)

and is able to articulate it very well. I think he’ll make an excellent governor.

I was going to go into some of the things he mentioned in his press conference, but that’s a bit too much thread jacking. A friend of mine posted a county map showing which candidate each county. I’m thinking of writing a diary around it and I’ll post more there.

Anyway, if things continue in their present directions, Brady should be our next governor!

And Teri, if you play it right, you can get a boost from Brady’s coat tails. There’s a LOT of excitement about him in Central Illinois and hopefully in your area around St. Louis too. (The above mentioned map showed your district went for Adam, but Brady’s a good conservative who will get some changes made.)

Hope in NY 20 District

lhughes Tuesday, March 9th at 9:14AM EST (link)

Called my congressman Murphy (D-NY20) who voted NO on the first House Vote. He is sticking with his NO vote due to costs of the bill and the impact it’s going to have on our district (abundant medical device companies here who are going to get clobbered in new taxes). He’ll probably be banished forever by Pelosi which he should wear as a badge of honor.

My congressman is Sarbanes. I may as well tell Obama or a 2000 page stack of paper to vote against it. But I did it anyway. What’s that definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? The result will never change with Sarbanes. So, insane I must be…and lovin’ it.

Rational answers if they ask why you're opposed

mavericktime Tuesday, March 9th at 10:04AM EST (link)

David Brooks is not always a conservative’s friend, but he has an Op-Ed today that lists ways in which the Dems’ health care bill will NOT reduce the deficit, and will, in fact, increase it greatly. These reasons could handily be put into bullet points and memorized if your Representative asks you why you don’t support the Senate health care bill. That’s if you needed to summarize your opposition like this, and if budgetary issues were your main concern.

I reside in Florida Congressional District # 22. My Congresswoman is Debbie Wassermann-Schultz (D). She is so diehard ObamaCare, that she finds it all too easy to repeat the WH lies because she sincerely believes they are truths. Unfortunately for me, she is up for re-election in November in this primarily Liberal-Democrat District that no matter who stands against her in November she will win. Call her? It IS simple to call (and leave a message) but that’s as far as it goes. She is on my email list and I have written her a number of times, but her responses are always in the vein of, “Thank you for your support”. So, while I agree with you on principle, Erick, it doesn’t work in reality -at least not for me and not here in this District.
