The Case for Larry Kudlow

Run Larry Run.

Larry Kudlow, Wall Street’s Palladin of American capitalism and free market economics, says he is moved by the public support he’s getting to run for the U.S. Senate aganst New York Democrat Charles Schumer.

“I’m very flattered by all the attention and quite frankly surprised at the size of the draft movement which has developed. So it has my attention,” the CNBC host and weekday anchor, and former Reagan administration economist told HUMAN EVENTS

“But, and this is a very important thing, and from the heart, I love my work at CNBC. I just love it. And that’s the reason why I have no plans to run for the Senate at the present time,” Kudlow said in an interview.

Run Larry Run!

Is there a more unabashedly pro-free market person around? I think not. I hope he runs. I have loved him for years on TV, and I think he would make a fantastic Senator.

What a fantasy it would be, to shoo Schumer out of office. nt

Leaders don’t create movements. Movements create leaders. Get involved. Your future depends on it.
Govt “invests” YOUR tax money for POLITICAL return rather than economic return.

You don't have to make a case to get 'em out.

The case for Kudlow?

ANYONE is better than Gillibrand and Schumer.

Back in college, someone put a sign “VOTE FOR ME” on the coffee machine. The coffee machine won.

This New Yorker Wants Kudlow to Run!

Larry Kudlow would be a terrific candidate to run against Chuck Schumer. Kudlow could definitely hold Schumer under 60%. Larry Kudlow is a much better candidate than Schumer’s 2004 opponent Assemblyman Howard Mills III, received less than 25% of the vote. Schumer got 70% of the vote in 2004, he will certainly get less in 2010.Mills was beyond a weak challenger and I never saw one commercial for him in 2004. I couldn’t tell you what Howard Mills looked like or even his message. Mills did not even get the Conservative Party backing.
Chuck Schumer is not very popular, but he probably has at least $20 million for a run and could probably get another $10 to $20 million more if things got close and Kudlow got into the high 30′s and low 40′s. Kudlow must get the Conservative Party’s backing as well to be a formidable challenger. The conservative party line is worth at least 4 to 5%. I know Larry Kudlow’s message and background. I hope Larry Kudlow runs, he will absolutely have my support. I bet if Kudlow is the nominee we will see Kudlow for Senate Commercials. Run Larry Run!

Baggage...

I like Kudlow, but he has a lot of baggage – the Dems would certainly do their best to take advantage of it. He may very well be unelectable…

Force Schumer to debate.

Even if he loses the challenge is worthwhile. New York is a disaster. There is no excuse for letting an arrogant proponent of bad policy like Schumer to go unchallenged. No seat is safe.

I like Kudlow.

He hasn’t been a politician before, though, AFAIK.

He might be at a disadvantage in a debate with Schumer. Kudlow would try to use facts; Schumer would simply make up something that would sound as if it contradicted Kudlow’s facts. A debate format is a bad one for trying to set straight a boatload of inaccuracies, what we common folk call “lies.”

Kudlow hosts a news/debate program.

He can handle himself in that format. It’s not like there have never been blowhards on Kudlow & Co. Heck, the show used to be Kudlow & Cramer! Imagine having to talk over that guy. heh

A TV finance show “debate” free-for-all among three to six people has no relationship to a political debate.

And in the current show, Larry controls the microphones and can have any last word he wants. Still, I would hope you are right about his being able to handle it.

I'd love to see Kudlow run

treeofliberty Friday, March 5th at 2:08PM EST (link)

His Saturday show is the only must-listen to program on the radio during the weekend, at least for me anyway. And the only good move CNBC has made in awhile is to hire Larry.

Even if he were to lose the beat-down he would give to someone like Schumer or Gillibrand during any debate (on economics especially) would surely be worth it! Talk about an intellectual mismatch of epic proportions.

Eric, I seriously doubt that Kudlow will run...

kyle8 (Diary) Friday, March 5th at 5:16PM EST (link)

But I want him to. We could use some of his Reagan style optimism.

But can he take the pay cut?
