On Friday, January 29th, 2010, Lech Walesa, former President of Poland, traveled to Chicago to endorse Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate, Adam Andrzejewski.

"The US does not lead morally or politically anymore. The world has no leadership. The United States was always the last resort and hope for all other nations. That was the hope, that whenever something was going wrong, one could count on the United States. Today we lost that hope"

the fact is last time around Oberweis was no conservative. In one of his Senate runs, he refered to the pro-life community as "Taliban members". Oberweis is nothing but an opprtunstic ego freak.

in a multi-candidate race. Either Andrzejewski or Proft would be a good governor. If only we could come up with a good solution to this all too common problem, maybe we could elect more conservatives.

shoud be brought out. Why can't we ever get a dream candidate for Illinois senate?

That said, I'm voting Hughes and Proft.

Did you know Proft was adopted? Could be one of the reasons for his strong support for school choice. He is very passionate that children shouldn't be denied an education because of their zip code.

I like Proft. He comes across the best in the debates and I like his prolife credentials. His work with the cradle counts for something. Not sure Andy has anything similiar in his background. Not to say I don't believe Andy is also prolife, just for me it is the key issue.

I think it is a little overstated to argue Proft has less chance than Andy. I believe the latest polling has them within the margin of error of one another.

On a related note, I am sad that Hughes has not hammered Kirk on Kirk's support for partial birth abortion. In a republican primary that is a game changer, even among moderates. The vast majority oppose partial birth abortion. I know, personally, I will not vote for Kirk if he is the nominee on that issue alone. I have argued to liberal but Catholic friends to not vote rather than vote for a democrat who supports partial birth abortion (I know they would never vote Republican). I can't, in good conscience, fail to follow my own advice and prefer to stand up for Christ than for RINOs.

One could easily make the case that Adam is the only candidate who could win, simply because he isn't tarnished with past statements, recorded votes, and or pop-up scandals (This is Illinois, after all)

The audit idea is 100 % doable and everyone on the campaign knows it. That is why so many of the other candidates have borrowed planks from our platform. The policies aren't naive, they are what people need to hear. You can't pass something until you actually run on it, and then act on it. If Brady had tried some of that in his 16 years in the State Gov,. he'd be Governor right now.

If you are from Illinois, and reading this, please don’t split your vote.

Bill Brady would be the nominee this year if he had dropped and allowed Oberweis to win. Instead, he is perceived to have stayed in so that Topikafava won. True or not, that is what a lot of Illinois conservatives think.

Proft is this year’s Brady. Watch the last days, look at momentum, and vote for the Conservative who can come in over the top.

That’s Adam Andrzejewski.

Unlock your position, watch, and you’ll see Adam as the best choice on election day.

Disclosure: I was compensated by Adam's campaign through November.

Lastly, ignore all the blather about "experience" and "analysis". Anyone who has done an ounce of "analysis" isn't going to get a tax cut or an ephemeral "statutory spending freeze" past Speaker Madigan.

In a one on one debate, Proft is the better rhetorician, but Adam is running on far more robust policies.

I respect Adam and he was almost my choice in our primary but Bill Brady has the combination of conservative reform principles an electability statewide. Vote Brady! Some of Adam's plans, ie what he thinks could be done via executive unilateral action, are unrealistic. Brady, Brady, Brady for gov!

Proft is the only one that has the ability to deal with the crooks in Springfield. He has the intellect to outsmart the whole lot of them. He has analyzed the problems within our state and has developed real solutions to our ills. Brady would be the next most qualified but is just a little on the "boring" side as a candidate. Good conservative man but just doesn't inspire the masses. Adam Andrezjewski is politically naive but is running a good campaign that appeals to the simplest of voters. Isn't what he proposes with his "forensic" audit already being done and those document available to review by request??? All I get from him is that he might make it easier to see these things but how many want to look at a budget by line item. Andrezjewski is lacking depth but with a few more years of political exposure he will be a very viable leader.

Why are you comparing Andy to some Polish King from centuries ago? Please tell me that this isn't why you support him, how superficial. I'm a Catholic conservative and if this guy is being supported by the likes of Stacey McCain, then no thx. Even Rubio isn't conservative enough for me, he certainly won't be a Sen DeMint. To me, you're not a conservative unless you support reducing govt spending across the board. Also, auditing the Fed should be a standard talking point now for any so-called conservative.

If Andrew Andrzejewski has the same mettle that a great Pole of history had, King of Poland Jan III Sobieski, whose heavy hussars defeated the Muslim army at the siege of Vienna on Sept 11, 1683 his election will scare the hell out of the Muslim extremists who attacked us on Sept 11, 2001. We need more men with mettle in Congress and the WH as opposed to the overwhelming number of pantywaists we have now.

I want to acknowledge upfront that I cannot claim to know better than conservative within Illinois about how things should go in their state.

I know that in my own state that the national image of some Republicans is false and that if people knew what the locals did they would think differently.

But what I would like to say is that I have watched these guys on TV before and Adam came across better. I saw Brady in action both in his last run for Governor and this one - and Adam seems like he is the stronger guy and more likely to put principle before self-interest. Brady seems too self-protective for my taste.

And as for Adam being the split off candidate - Brady polling 10% at best from what I seen. So considering Adam seems to have more wind at his back he could easily already be ahead of Brady in reality.

Lack of knowledge about local issues - boy I have heard that line from the establishment so many times.

I would suggest we back whomever would be the best leader most likely to put principles above self interest.

I respectly suggest that as the standard. Again, everyone within the state has advantage on me. I am only trying to make a suggestion on how best to evaluate the situtation.

I am also glad Eric is getting involved. I am for Rubio as well. But we need to focus on all the races not just Florida. Esp. since you can get ready for Crist to get out the primary any day now.

And what about Hughes for the Senate?

Thanks.

I saw Brady in action both in his last run for Governor and this one – and Adam seems like he is the stronger guy and more likely to put principle before self-interest.
There are other solid conservative candidates who go beyond just saying the right things and who actually realize they can't manage federal programs as a State governor. His promises to vets are so strikingly impossible that he comes off as dishonest or just that oblivious to how our federalist system works. It's not about establishment vs outsider. It's about having the first clue about the job he's running for. He doesn't seem to have it.

I personally know people very close to him. I have very good reason to believe that he is (1) a VERY solid conservative, (2) smart, and (3) tough as nails. If I were from the Land of Lincoln, I would be a very enthusiastic and active supporter--and would harbor little worry that he would be ineffective.

but I cant see the Dems going for it, unless they can trade the Blago guys for new patronage hires they can get for their union donors. I just think the first thing a GOP Gov should do is something he can control to gain political capitol not on something he will waste it on.
