When Charlie Crist is losing even the establishment he is in serious trouble.
Congressmen Lincoln and Mario Diaz-Balart have withdrawn their endorsements of Charlie Crist.
Lincoln offered few details as to why, just that Crist had “left us no alternative and he knows why.”
Diaz-Balart said the withdrawal has nothing to do with Crist’s slumping poll numbers, and in fact, the decision was made weeks ago.
I have heard, though I do not know if it is true, that they are unhappy with a number of Crist’s recent policy decisions and a suggestion that Crist would be weak on Cuban policy. That last bit is a huge issue in South Florida.
Regardless of why, that establishment Republicans are now not just not endorsing, but yanking their endorsements, is a huge problem for Crist.
I say it again: I think Crist will drop out.

I am a registered Dem who in the past year to 18 months has been wondering why am I a Dem? Is it because that is what I have always been, and my parents and parents before them (Upper West Side of NYC, lunatic liberal land)? And the answer to my sadness is yes. Right now, in 2009 America, JFK would be labeled a ‘wingnut’ Republican, that is how far to the Left this country has gone.
So, come the first of the year I am switching my registration from ‘D’ to ‘R’. One of the reasons is now that I am a Flor-idiot I can vote in a primary where the General Election isn’t already decided. And my first vote as a newly registered Republican will be in the Florida primary on Aug 26 where I will proudly pull the lever for
MARCO RUBIO.
