The White House and the Speaker both have flickr pages. And they are the gifts that keep on giving.
First, we have the leader of the free world supplicating himself to the leader of world oppressors. Is he begging for more time to pay off his/our debt?

Then we have Tiger and the Cougar or, as Moe said, a photo entitled “Tiger Would”.

Flagstaff (Diary) Sunday, December 20th at 12:08AM EST (link)It would have to be a thought balloon, of course.
“The press is so powerful in its image-making role that it can make a criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”– Malcolm X, Audubon Ballroom, December 13, 1964

Open Thread it is: The Obama was quoted on Oprah.
Flagstaff (Diary) Saturday, December 19th at 11:07PM EST (link)After giving himself a “good solid B+” grade on his performance for the year, he explained, “We have inherited the biggest set of challenges of any President since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.”
I guess he forgot about Harry Truman and World War II. Then again, maybe he just doesn’t want to think about how Truman’s decision to drop atomic bombs on Japan compares with his own lack of decisiveness regarding Iran’s currently developing nuclear capacity.
Maybe he might want to reconsider that B+. After all, he’s failing both Economics and Science, and now we have to give him an F in History as well.

I picked up that quote on Fox News Watch.
Flagstaff (Diary) Saturday, December 19th at 11:22PM EST (link)The problem with the show, which is supposed to feature four newspeople sitting around a moderator critiquing how well the news media is doing its job, is the it actually does feature four newspeople.
It would be a much better show if the panel were people like us, who haven’t bought in to the LSM approach to news in the first place. Two RedStaters and two Kossaks (separated by bullet-proof glass, of course) would give a better critique than Douglas Kennedy and Ellis Henican v Pinkerton and Tantaros.

In 1961.
Linked from Mark Levin radio program 12/17.
"Polarizing figure" - I've heard that term applied to two people just this weekend.
Flagstaff (Diary) Sunday, December 20th at 12:06AM EST (link)The first was Glenn Beck, to his face by Jay Leno, and the second was in a report about Oral Roberts.
Can anybody tell me of a Liberal Progressive who has ever been described as “polarizing”? I believe it’s a media term that, like “racist,” is only applicable to anyone but liberals.

Extremists.
redneck_hippie (Diary) Sunday, December 20th at 12:20AM EST (link)Talking to the Dad this week, and without naming names, when politics came up he said “it just seems like all we can elect (as president) are extremists.” Translation: “Yeah, I know I said last year that I thought that Obama was a good guy and would be a good president, but now I see that’s not exactly 100% true.”
So I told him the problem isn’t that only extremists (i.e. Bush/Obama, in his terms) get elected. It is that the only people who care enough to vote are extremists. (Not 100% accurate, but I get tired of people making excuses for the way that they vote.) I told him that he and I would not be affected by the downturn, etc., but that my kids and grandkids would.
It's very difficult to discuss political differences with a near relative.
Flagstaff (Diary) Sunday, December 20th at 12:48AM EST (link)I would have a problem doing so with my son. He’s going to have to figure it out on his own.
I don’t know what it would be like to try to convince a Dad to look at things differently.
Mother-in-law–don’t even try.

If they need more voters,
then they have to make more of who they are for.
