Take a close look at that.

Not only are they confirming that they are incorrect about the findings of Sir Isaac Newton — published at minimum 200 years before this correction was run — but they are also confirming the findings of Robert Goddard, whose conclusions were demonstrated three days later.

When Apollo 11 landed on the MOON.

A statue of US President Barack Obama as a 10-year-old wearing shorts and a T-shirt has been erected in a Jakarta park to inspire children in the country where he lived as a boy, officials say.

The almost life-sized statue, to be unveiled on Thursday by Jakarta’s governor, shows the young Obama smiling at a butterfly that has landed on his upheld left thumb.

It stands in Taman Menteng Park, near where Obama lived from 1967 until 1971 with his American mother, his Indonesian stepfather and his half-sister.

General Motors has replaced its Chevrolet brand manager after just five months as it continues to shake up top management.

GM said in a statement on Wednesday that James Campbell will now lead the company’s largest and most important brand. Campbell replaces Brent Dewar, who will retire on April 1 to spend more time with family and pursue personal interests.

Mr. Dewar is the gent who basically guaranteed NASCAR that Chevy (and GM) isn’t pulling out of sponsorships for teams, tracks and races.

Dos: Variety to begin building ‘pay wall’ around website.

http://news.theage.com.au/breaking-news-technology/variety-to-begin-building-pay-wall-around-website-20091210-kl2v.html

Variety, in a statement on Wednesday, said print and digital subscribers will get full access to all of the content on Variety.com, but starting on Thursday it will take steps to begin charging readers online.

The entertainment industry magazine said that after clicking on two pages of content at Variety.com, one in 10 randomly selected visitors will be prompted to register for further access.

It said nonsubscribers will eventually be able to access only five pages of content in a given month.

Does anybody really care about Variety ?

Then again, when they go full-pay, they can go full Left (much more left than they are currently) and care even less about accuracy then they do now. Playing to the home crowd, I think that’s the term.
