Charlie Crist Finally Pulls Race Card. Jealous of Rubio’s Better Tan.

Well, we knew Crist was desperate, but pulling the race card seems really low even for him, given all the videos circulating out there about Crist’s personal life. Good grief.

Race42008.com has the video circulating by the “Truth About Rubio” website we previously exposed as the creation of Rich Heffley, produced in the offices of the Republican Party of Florida.

The video shows Marco Rubio speaking in spanish, then has a clip of Barack Obama referring to Marco Rubio as a Cuban, then says no way “WE” can trust Rubio.

Really? Because he’s Cuban? Really?

That’s pathetic.

i smell desperation...or is that chemical tan? i can never tell

I’m appalled that I once voted for this guy. I must have been drunk. So what’s the odds that he doesn’t even make it to the primary in August?

Crist is pathetic

10ksnooker (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:18AM EST (link)

Rubio is a fantastic conservative. Florida has many Cubans, I have a Cuban friend who has been a dear friend for 30 years.

The problem for tan in a bottle good time Charlie is he is a RINO who lies.

Florida’s Constitution has a provision that the State must balance their budget each year. One thing Crist did do was attempt to turn Citizen’s Insurance, the state run hurricane insurance, into a full blown welfare program. That caused huge budget problems.

Crist is pathetic pt 2

SG_Lominac (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:34AM EST (link)

It now appears Citizen’s will be hiking rates by as much as 10% next year. Not only has Crist burnt the bridge with Cubans/Hispanics, he is going to be crucified for this insurance mess. Republicans must primary Crist with Rubio or we may well lose that Senate seat.

Well there is the FINAL nail in the coffin of the Crist campaign...

JadedByPolitics (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:19AM EST (link)

Marco Rubio is EXACTLY the kind of Conservative WE in the party want all that big tent discussion etc! I guess Crist didn’t get the memo about DIVERSITY in the GOP as WE go forward.

Really Mr Crist have you LOST your mind? I guess the Bush clan with their background from Jeb’s wife will be a problem as well! I think Crist just opened the door for Jeb & his wife and ALL of their children to go FULL THROTTLE on him and his RACIST friends. What an absolutely WASTE of time and you are right about the rumors about Crist being gay would certainly hurt him more then a Conservative man being Cuban…hell Cuban’s by nature are CONSERVATIVE because they have escaped TYRANNY!

No kidding about Bush

In The Hook (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:27AM EST (link)

How can Jeb just sit there when Crist pulls this one? It’s no secret that he’s not a big fan of Crist, but I respect the fact that he doesn’t want to get involved in a primary and would rather use his reputation to boost the GOP nominee with independent voters. That’s a good play and indicative of the strong party man that he is.

But Crist just torpedoed that with this attack ad in my opinion. Jeb is a good man and has held his fire on many occasions where it would be easier to let loose, but I don’t see that pattern holding true after an ad like this. If anything, he’ll be forced to do it to placate an incensed wife!

In The Hook (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:22AM EST (link)

Because he speaks in Spanish when he appears on Univison and because he attended a Cuban American event and Obama spoke at that same event he’s not a loyal Republican? Are you serious?

This guy was the state’s Speaker of the House and was criticized in the press and by Crist for being too conservative during the last two budget debates.

Absolutely absurd and no Republican is falling for that in Florida. Crist is a total amateur and now is revealing himself as the despicable pure politician that we here know him to be.

About the race card...

Mike (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:36AM EST (link)

This is actually a good thing. Know why?

Because everybody knows that only Democrats are allowed to play the Race Card. Heck, they’re the only people allowed to OWN a Race Card. So if Charlie Crist is playing a Race Card, that’s more of an indictment than hugging it out with his Bestest Buddy Barack :D

I bloody hate, HATE the race card. And I despise the people who use it even more. One more straw resting on the back of this camel.

K, hang on.

Mike (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 10:10AM EST (link)

I remember hearing a story about when Reagan was running for President, his campaign got a check from the Log Cabin Republicans. When his finance director asked him what he wanted to do with the check, Reagan said something along the lines of “Cash it. We’re not endorsing them, they’re endorsing us.”

What this attack actually says is that Barack Obama supports Marco Rubio; not that Rubio supports Democrats, their agenda, or Obama and his agenda.

So here’s a short synopsis of this saga so far: Crist supports Obama’s policies, a policy which three total Republicans in Congress supported. Crist supported the bipartisanship that hijacked three-quarters of a billion dollars from MY FUTURE EARNINGS. Dear god, I’m in debt up to my eyeballs because of the efforts of people like Crist.

And Rubio?

Was on the Spanish-speaking Univision, and as a guy who was able to speak without a translator, he did. He pointed out, accurately, that Raul Martinez was either exonerated or had the charges against him dropped — meaning that in the end, Martinez was not convicted. And he accurately pointed out that if Martinez wanted to beat Diaz-Balart, there were certain things he had to do.

And lest ye forget, Martinez DIDN’T. In the worst electoral climate since the Nixon resignation, Diaz-Balart still flogged Martinez in the election. No harm, no foul.

This is a stupid, stupid ad, even without the added racist overtones.

How many IQ points will I lose by clicking that attack ad?

Moe Lane (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:37AM EST (link)

And how elevated will it make my blood pressure when I do?

I'll answer this one...

Mike (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:56AM EST (link)

Moe, your IQ will, over the course of three minutes, drop about 35%. For you, that’ll still put you about the same level as Fred Thompson. For me, I figure I’ve got about ten seconds until I hit the same intellect as Jon Gosselin.

In those ten seconds, I’ll tell you that blood will shoot out your ears. Ooooo, I hates racists…

at the race card level. Cubans in general are known to be honest, hardworking people who generally integrate very well into American culture. So if these morons think calling him Cuban is somehow an indictment into his character, they truly are desperate.

Tru Dat. The Cubans in USA are capitalist, which is more than I can say for about half the natives -nt

Hooah_Mac (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 9:47AM EST (link)

That ad was easily the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I mean, wow.

I know what they were trying to do-

Obama says Charlie Crist supports his agenda = Obama congratulates Marco Rubio on his success

Therefore Crist >= Rubio.

Kind of expect math like that from someone who supports the stimulus. Also, Rubio says that this indicted politician is not a convicted felon (seems like a fact to me, indicted is not equal to convicted), so therefore he is a bad guy?

This whole thing just baffles me. It reminds me of the stories about the politician who smeared his opponent by saying that he “matriculated” and that his sister was a practicing “thespian”

If Univision had asked him “How might Satan, Lord of the Damned, go about winning in 2008?” and Rubio responded, “Well, he’d need to win over the undecided Satanists, at least”, then I suppose Rubio would be a pro-Satanist Faux conservative.

Or, at least, if he said it in Spanish… You know, because (in Charlie’s mind) those hay-seed hick conservatives he’s trying to win over will believe ANYTHING about a guy who speaks anything other than American.

Aren’t Cubans the guys who willingly take off in homemade rafts from Cuba in the hopes that they’ll end up in the Land of the Free? In which case, isn’t it counterintuitive to say that they dislike America? Also, didn’t Crist’s best buddy (Obama) say that he wanted Americans to know other languages besides English?

Tony_Cruz (Diary) Thursday, November 12th at 12:44PM EST (link)

Left a message saying I’m so disgusted with Crist’s campaign as of late.

Asked the NRSC why only Christ is listed on their website as running for the florida senate as a Republican and why they continue to endorse someone who has allowed blatant racist remarks about fellow Republicans.

They had no idea what I was talking about and I was apparently misinformed.

Cuban Americans Crist needs to win in order to secure the Republican nomination. Ignoring of course all the Cuban American votes he would need in the general election, assuming he “won” the primary. I mean, I realize the man isn’t a conservative, but I thought he was at least supposed to be able to read polling results and know that Cuban Americans are a key Republican demographic in Florida.

Memo to the NRSC: pull the plug on Crist before it gets any MORE embarrassing for you. I know, I know. Right now it is difficult to imagine how it COULD get any more embarrassing, but given his track record so far, I know I don’t want to find out. Maybe you shouldn’t want to either.

Pulling for Rubio in Texas

nunleigh Friday, November 13th at 9:44AM EST (link)

I handed out information about Marco Rubio including his website at the Tea Pary Express II rally in Abilene, Texas. Visited with some Texas folks who know about the race, others who never heard of it, but all said they would check out the website and possibly donate some money. I encouraged them to remember how important every state Senator’s vote is to all of us when it comes to close issues like Obamacare. The Express bus driver was from Florida and said most radio stations were pulling for Rubio there. It would be interesting to know how many people are not donating to the RNC because of Scozzafava. I sent money to Hoffman, and have decided to send my money to individual candidates including Rubio. I have not been answering the RNC calls, but my older son answered last week, mentioned how upset we were about our money they spent on Scozzafava, and he told them to call Newt Gingrich and get money from him. The lady said she did not have his number, and my son replied, “You got my number, you can get his.” Then, he hung up. I’m not that bold, but it felt good to cheer him on. Now we hear OUR donations are going for RNC insurance that includes abortion? I’ll have to let my son answer again, and mention that, too! By the way, I am 57 years old and have never been politically active. Getting involved is a bit scary for me, but finding myself cowering in the corner fearful while my country is lost is just not a option. I encourage everyone to do anything they can. It is safe and easy to donate money to candidates like Hoffman and Rubio online. Thank you RedState. I am so glad I found you!

This reminds me

DCHinckley Friday, November 13th at 2:30PM EST (link)

this reminds me of the thing I hate the most when the Democraps do it. Let me tell you, I am a really really red conservative white football Mom from Texas. But I have no problem working for or supporting solid conservative blacks, browns, Asians, et al. I really don’t care if they are pink with purple polkadots if they are solid in their support of conservative values. If Crist thinks conservatives won’t vote for a Cuban American, then he is deluding himself.

And while I’m on my soap box. THANK YOU to the Catholic church, of which I am not a member. The Catholic church, both clergy and members, stood fast against abortion longer before conservatives got fully behind the cause. Now it is common to find Christians/Evangelicals/Republicans taking the stand against the murder of innocents. But I can remember when we didn’t and the Catholic faithful stood in the gap with little help.

So YES, as a very white conservative, I will support solid conservative Cuban Americans, Mexican Americans, etc. with my votes and money. I will be sending my funds, small though they are, directly to Rubio – and my prayers as well.
