If being nice means not criticizing and turning on the money spiggot so the NRCC can bring us more Scozzafavas, then no, being nice is not an option.

How about the NRCC make nice, apologize, resign and then we can wait and see if the replacements can do any better.

The NRCC listened to us. This is good. But if all we do is trash them even when they do something good, then what incentive will they have to do the right thing? Don’t we want them to stop doing stupid things until we can get them replaced?

1. Learn to give a carrot when somebody does the right thing, instead of the stick even when they’re doing what you want. It’s common sense.

2. Your last paragraph misses the fact that the vast majority of our candidates are picked by the base, and the same people angry about Scozzafava would throw a total fit if the establishment started vetoing candidates picked by the base.

Vice President Joseph Biden will campaign Monday with Democrat Bill Owens, who is seeking to win the closely watched special election to replace former Rep. John McHugh (R) in upstate New York. Biden will join Owens at a morning rally in Watertown, in an effort to energize Democrats to turn out and vote in Tuesday’s election.

Does Owens really want to stand next to Biden in this district?

for a contribution. I am on their list for contributing over the years. I told the lady that because of what was happening in NY 23, that I will be contributing to individual campaigns who are conservative. The Republican Party has had my vote since 1980, every election down to local level.
I do not advocate a third party, but I will not donate money for the likes of Scozzafava. The phone representative said she was hearing the same story at a 95% level, and that I should write Michael Steele.

Idiocy.

NRCC … make a press release NOW that you’re now abandoning Scuzzy before it’s too late. Or, better yet … try to talk to Scuzzy to GIVE IT UP ALREADY.

As for the possible negative implications (e.g., being used as a precedent)? Simple.

Incumbent Rs should make a new pact to their respective constituents that they will be more fiscally conservative than ever. More than ever, the Incumbents must show some humility and respect for their constituents. It’s up to their constituents if they will believe in their current representatives or not.

RNC, it’s time to have a new requirement for candidates: Minimum Standards for being Conservatives – at least on fiscal issues, respect of Constitution, and support for stronger security. Disqualify those who cannot meet the minimum.

Who appoints these guys? Party over principle is a bad act. These guys have got to go if we are to be viable. Who, even on the left, wants, demonrat lite? It is insane. We need a party of grown-ups, who can espouse why liberalism is wrong. We can’t do that if our candidate is more liberal than the democrat running against her.

We are in a battle for the soul of our country, God IS watching, and listening, I don’t think he is hearing a whole lot of conversations going his way from the US. If we want our country back, if we want it healed, we have to be about the task of asking him, in a humble way.

Maybe over the weekend Dede will drop out, or be pushed out. As a registered member of the NY Conservative Party I’ve had issues with them selling their soul to the Republicans. For the first time in a long time I’m proud to be a member. The symbol of the party is Lady Liberty’s torch, win or lose, the party can hold it high.
