David Harmer Could Use Some Last Minute Help in California

I’ve written about David Harmer before. He is in a very close election out in CA-10, running in a special election to replace former Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher.

As Jim Geraghty noted yesterday, Harmer is running full steam ahead into the public option in his district, which leans blue, but in which Harmer is polling very, very well against a state wide elected Democrat — California’s Lieutenant Governor.

Harmer could use some last minute help. Things are looking good for him, but money and volunteers remain in short supply.

Walnut Creek is around 20 miles due east of San Francisco. CA-10 includes parts of Contra Costa, Solano and Alameda counties. This could be a pick up for us and those of you out west could really help turn this district.

So instead oif spending funds trying to pick up a blue seat...forcing the Dems to spend money to defend it...

We’re involved in wasting precious resources attacking a conservative for a seat that is traditionally red making it a more likely Democrat pickup as a result instead of letting the conservative win the seat…keeping it red…while forcing the Dems to defend one of theirs?

I mean…with people like this making hundreds of thousands of dollars as political consultants…where do I sign up for a job? These clowns could find their asses with both hands if they were four feet wide!

What are you talking about?
He’s as progressive as Pelosi. He’s the guy that cost California and Santa Barbara County over 2 Billion dollars in new tax revenue by killing the offshore drilling that had been approved by everyone except his Coastal Planning commission.

And if you think Ace was saying that in his comment, you misread it (it was a bit convoluted) – he was saying the the NRCC should have been supporting Hamer (a conservative) against liberal Garimendi rather than spend all their money in NY-23 to support a liberal against a conservative.

David Harmer really outshined Garamendi last night

I understand that Garamendi used the same old liberal talking points and blame it on Bush crap and his strong support for the public option which didn’t nothing to warm the crowd. He left immediately afterward while David stayed and met the attendees. The overwhelming support went to Harmer.

I just got back from working the phone banks at the WC headquarters and the place was buzzing.

Finally, the Obama love is wanning very seriously in this area if people scratching off the Obama/Biden bumper stickers is any indication. A couple weeks ago we went to and from SF during a pretty busy traffic time and I did not see a single one.

I’m listening in on a telephone town hall. I’m super impressed with both his depth of knowledge on the issues and his ability to connect to callers. This guy is a winner – call anyone you know in this district and get them off their behinds to vote.
