Congressman Todd Tiarht R-Kansas, is a Congressman that has engaged this debate with the principled solutions we need for health care. Tiarht a free-market conservative favors individual choice and decisions over the government agencies. Too many so-called Republicans are seeking compromise in this 2000 page giant of pile of legislation. In my opinion that is the wrong place from which to start. Just as Romney when running for President in the last election cycle, he started at a single payer position. We need to lower costs for folks but not by rationing care. Where are the conservatives yelling at the top of their lungs about Tort Reform, and Cross State Insurance? This Pelosi Bill will burden America for generations. Here is a quote from Tiahrt:
“Speaker Pelosi just delivered an early Christmas gift to President Obama tonight at a cost of $1.2 trillion to taxpayers,” said Tiahrt. “The Democrat’s vote to nationalize our healthcare system and send 5.5 million more Americans to the unemployment office comes during a time when more than 10 percent of workers are looking for jobs. Tonight Republicans again gave Democrats yet another opportunity to reject the nationalization of our healthcare system envisioned by the president and instead choose a market-based plan that lowers healthcare costs, allows Americans who like their healthcare coverage to keep it, and puts patients first by ensuring medical decisions are made by patients and their doctors instead of a government worker in the Obama administration. It’s unfortunate but no longer surprising that Speaker Pelosi and President Obama have again broken their word to give Republicans a place at the table on an issue of such importance." - Tiahrt.house.gov
Talk with your Congressman and Senators about this legislation. Tiarht will be at a small event in Lenexa, Kansas Sunday, November 15th. Tiahrt and other state elected officials will be there and will take questions from those that attend.

Whoever thought that a special election in NY-23 would become a rallying cry for conservatives across the country?

I'm really starting to feel that Hoffman can win this.

Interviewed Doug Hoffman today on his business show. Too late in the day for the daily polls to measure but maybe by tomorrow, definately by Monday we should have some news on shifting numbers.

Nice lady asked me if I wanted to listen to a recording from him. I declined, and asked her if she cared to relay a message as to why I was not interested. She said yes, she would take the message. I simply said, "New York 23." She sighed audibly, and said she understood. Dollar to a doughnut says she had been hearing that a lot lately.

...are only in politics for personal gain. They have zero principles they are willing to fight for so nothing else explains their being in politics.

RINO's like the fawning media attention when they reach across the aisle and undermine conservatism, they like the party circuit, they like the power, they like belonging to an exclusive club, they like the job title. What they DON'T like is fighting for principles!

let us hope so.... but this whole situation seems to suggest they aren't....

I guess too many of them are happy being in comfy minority seat status... here's that reminder again...

[from Conservative Candidates (the Diary)]
the "Republican Revolution" of the 90's was mis-labeled, it was really the "CONSERVATIVE Revolution" and it brought Republicans to power; likewise, it was the "Reagan Conservative" Revolution, not a Republican Revolution. Many Republicans forgot that along the way. That led the way for CINO Democrats to lie their way back into power, but it was a "Conservative" co-opted (read: they lied about their intent) that voters allowed themselves to be duped into. Republicans need to REMEMBER that! Conservatism did NOT lose Elections, bad Politicians (with R's beside their name) did!

as in The Wizard of Oz. Now, when will the Gingrinch's and the party elites get the message. Probably about the time they realize they don't have a government trough to feed them, I guess. Thank you Conservatives.
