Why you would set up toll roads and allow private companies keep the toll money doesn’t make sense to me…but that’s another discussion.

as for TTC…I know it’s dead…but that doesn’t change the negatives Perry earned during the fight…I personally, it’s not a deal breaker for me but I doubt it would be for most but it could still hurt him.

As I say…I’ve not seriously considered him or where I’d stand if he decided to run in relation to the rest of the field…I’m discussing him because I was asked about him and as far as his position as a governor I’d definitely vote for him again. As Pres…we’ll see if he decides to run

Alaska with Minnesota or any other state. With a population of 686,293, it’s smaller than many average size cities. And with a land area of 571,951 sq miles (1.1 person per sq mi) containing one of the largest oil reserves in the world, it is not surprising that the Governor would be in a position to spend money on the population.

And the so-called “windfall-tax” was used to help Alaskan citizens offset the soaring fuel prices up there. Besides, Alaska has been spending far more on oil development infrastructure than she has been getting back. Gov. Palin states candidly:

“The state of Alaska is currently the largest investor on the North Slope, having paid for 50 percent of all investments in 2007. Yet our share of net revenue, including royalties, property and corporate income tax, was about 40 percent. The “equitable share” component in ACES narrows this gap…”

As for Gov Palin having “done little” in her two years – it is simply false. She stood up to the GOP power brokers and told them “NO!” She fought against the very corruption we now see entrenched in the WH and which ultimately forced her to resign or go bankrupt fighting an array of bogus ethics charges.

She is EXACTLY the kind of person we need and she sees a kindred soul in Doug Hoffman. That’s why she’s backing him.

Palin in ’12 !

and that has nothing to do with the lack of Conservatives right now. It has to do with some promotion of the state as far as getting more business. Really, there isn’t much to make him not be re-elected unless of course you think that the new Story du jour of Carl Lee Willingham and his execution 5 years ago is enough to knock him out. BTW, the TTC thing is as dead as a door nail and after November 3rd, it would be down right impossible to implement. Also, I’m now really in favor of Toll roads. You heard me, I like them but the reason is to use the excess to keep roads fixed without dipping into the Road fund.

he’s the real deal IMHO…The TTC was an issue for a lot of us but the plus that can be taken from that is that he’s willing to take an unpopular stand for what he thinks is right…though I would argue he was wrong on several points concerning it.

He’s socially Conservative in the Small Government federalist kind of way and he’s also been a rock on Immigration bucking not only Obama…but W as well…

As I say…I’m not ready to lead the charge for him because I have two others in front of him…not because I like them better…but because I haven’t really given him much thought as a POTUS candidatebut I know we could do a lot worse considering who else we have to choose from.

His record is pretty decent, and he did a decent job at getting Minnesota out of the mess that Ventura got it into. That said, he’s too mild and non-confrontational for me to trust that he will use the bully pulpit effectively, so I’m not too crazy about him as a presidential candidate.

Is Pawlenty a spineless worm? Sure, I can go for that. Has Palin apparently found the GOP’s secret stash of cajones and used them (and then some)? I don’t know, but it would explain a few things

But that’s different than saying that Pawlenty is a socialist, or that Palin is the penultimate conservative: judging by their records, Pawlenty has done a fair amount to curtail government spending, and Palin did little in her two years in AK besides spend a bunch of cash and windfall-tax oil companies.

has a chance to nontrivially affect an important house race that otherwise is likely to go to the democrats. Tis means one more vote for surrender abroad, higher taxes, and this holocaust of a health care plan. There were plenty of otherwise acceptable politicians who stood by and said nothing when Hitler assumed power, and who continued to stand by and do nothing when he bagan to exterminate entire races of people, and now there are people who stand by and do nothing (I’m talking about Pawlenty) while Fuhrer Obama sets up his own Holocaust of a health care bill. Step up and be a man, Tim, even if it there is a small chance it will politically hurt you!
