Liberal Fascism: Intro & Chapter 1

I was supposed to have this post up on Monday.

I’m sorry that did not happen. Truth be told, I’ve had some family stuff come up that has kept me rather pre-occupied. So while I did the reading, this past weekend was nuts and it has only escalated.

That’s why this is a group project.

I adopt this post as my own regarding this week’s reading of the introduction and chapter 1 of Liberal Fascism.

Here is another great one.

I’m on track for Chapter 2, which we’ll have read by Monday and I promise I’ll have a post up by Monday morning on it.

Let’s keep at it. I swear I thought just a few people would be doing this, but I have been inundated by people asking where my post was. This is a great accountability project to and for that I thank you.

Globalism is Corporate Socialism

Fascism concentrates power in the hands of the few.
It will take power by any means possible.
It is the enemy of the people.
It’s the ultimate hate crime.
It hates truth.

Fascism comes in many flavors, all toxic.

I just finished the book

…an hour ago. What is this project? I must have missed the original post.

“In questions of power, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” – Thomas Jefferson

“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” – James Madison

Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience.” — John Locke, 1690

…I don’t recall if you’ve put it on the list, but I’d like to suggest – largely since I just went out and got a copy – that we put The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis on the book list. It’s not really a political book, it’s more of a Christian/cultural conservative book, but the lessons in it are very much in line with our discussions on this site.

And if your familial entaglements are still going on, I’ve got most of my review for Chapter Two in the can. Feel free to take care of stuff at home if need be…
