if he’d made an attempt at naming them and successfully hit most of them. Hit four or five and say “I might have missed some, but the full list is quite easy to find on the AG website” and at that point you’ll be given the benefit of the doubt, but if you don’t even try, you just look stupid.

It also seems to me that if you’re going to participate in a debate that allows opponents to ask debate questions, you forfeit any argument you might plausibly have had (although it seems to me you lose that entering any formal debate, really) that you don’t have to answer “stupid” questions. If you really think such, the best you can do is subsequently point it out to voters and hope they see the question the same way you do.

I could understand a random politician not knowing the answer, but if you’re running for Attorney General, shouldn’t you at the very least know the name of the divisions you’re asking voters to put you in charge of?

I’m sure the Virginia media will bury this though.

We used to call it the Department of Stuff because the things that nobody could figure out where to put, they put in Administration. Here’s the list; I think I’d have gotten them all, at least back when I was still working there.

It’s over on the VA AG site…the answer is 6

The Office of the Attorney General is one of the largest law firms in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Office is organized into six legal Divisions: Civil Litigation, Public Safety and Enforcement, Health, Education and Social Services, and Technology and Transportation, Commerce, Finance, Opinions, Elections and Collections, and Sexual Predators, Tobacco, Alcohol and Gaming.

Not knowing the heads of each division, maybe a pass, but not knowing the six divisions…FAIL.

but I have better memory than most, spent twenty-odd years in the Alaska Department of Administration, and I’d be hard pressed to name all the divisions of Admin. I’d probably get them all, but I’d have to stop and think about it. Now since Admin is the primary infrastructure department, it undoubtedly has more divisions than an AG’s office, but it was a “gotcha” question. Unfortunately for Shannon, an experienced trial lawyer, which an AG should be, shouldn’t get flusted EVER, and he obviously was.

video equipment is not cheap, it’s well established that direct flashes like that can damage it, and that dumb b*tch was making obvious attempts to shoot flashes directly into the lens. While being recorded! What an idiot.

I think lawsuits (or criminal charges if that’s more appropriate) could be filed for harassment and attempted vandalism, including for whatever it might cost to have the camera man’s equipment tested and evaluated for damage.

And this stuff should be all over Fox News and wherever else truth is told.
