After feeling so down yesterday, I finally sent her a scathing email. Enough of the polite ones -- they obviously didn't make a difference!

But your idea is brilliant, and I, too, will be sending her Rock Salt.
Thank you, my friend.

and Open Letter to other Liberal/Democrat lurkers....

You are indeed one of a few Liberals (I'll speak for myself only and say) I look forward to reading/engaging here at RedState as you are one of the few that can engage and be respectful while doing so. We won't agree on many things, but I hold out hope for you still in the long run ;-) lol - since you're open to honest/factual debate/discussion.

You do know, however, there are some (probably much farther left and on the Democrat fringe perhaps) here just to Troll/Moby and be disruptive. They come here with the intent to be banned eventually, because they can than slither back to the DailyKook nest and wear their dismissal/banning as a Badge Of Lefty-loon Honor.... You also know (and I state for the benefit of other casual observers) We generally adhere to the Hinz-Rule (or King-Rule) and ignore them, or just attempt to dismiss troll, but it is sometimes Therapuetic almost for us to have some fun (levity) at their attempts to trolljack a thread before they get the Blam-stick. As I engaged herein this thread. Sometimes we may get a bit carried away, to which I will apologize (again, only for myself) if I have.

Again, there are many aspects of discussion we welcome Left perspectives and attempts to correct what we believe to be misperceptions and/or Democrat mis-leadings in such matters -- such as: the "It Takes A Village" concept I've addressed in a few (one here: Liberals misuse Religion for Liberal Govt. expansion and/or Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead) Diaries.

Again -- MOST OF US WELCOME LIBERALS FOR DISCUSSIONS -- shame they can't all be "polite," nice, etc... like you!!! An Echo-chamber doesn't help us to best define our arguments and presentations, but attempting to bother to be a member and engage in disucssion at DailyKooks or HuffPooPoo would be as futile for us. I hope you invite more of your friends that are "reasonable" like you to come by.

plain & simple....

She should have voted NO but that would not have got her any TV coverage. She is an older female looking for approval. Sure she might get some of the leftys and maybe in Maine that is what she needs to get re-elected? But once this craptastic piece of crap becomes law then she won't be able to find any cover when the folks in Maine get screwed big time - as are the rest of Americans - and that includes all the leftys who were dying for National HealthCare coverage. Meanwhile, when Snowe comes down with some disease - it will be off to the Congressional hospital for her.....

I have spoken with 6 different Senate Offices and the Senate Finance Committee office itself to confirm it only requires 50% vote out of committee.... Therefore, Snowe's vote to make it 14-9 was only for the BI-PARTISAN BS SPIN cover!!!! She could have and should have voted NO and it still would have moved from Committee.
senate.finance.gov/rules.pdf does not implicitly say it and I have thus far haven't found anyone (I've got calls into Press departments) that can give me a definative reference to provide a citation.

So those looking to make excuses, cover, or work-arounds for her votes (no, not refering to anyone in this particular conversation - just general about the MSM talking heads spin) can maybe get around to reporting that inconvenient FACT!!!!!

we've discussed a few times and I touch on in CRA and is a shame that some folks (mostly those Liberal Laziness folks that never pay attention therefore fall for all that everytime) don't understand how that works. It is, as you know, not always just votes like this, especially in the House - usually competing Bills exist and they trade votes on/for one over the other so-as to have Votes (in pocket to quote back in District) knowing they will pass the final Bill yet say they were "against" (if cornered pull the compromise BS excuse - gotta have a Bill garbage) and point to their NO vote.... Or, of course, the other way around, depending upon who they are talking to at the time and needing to twist their position (desire to grow Government at any cost for any reason) to fit what the potential Voter wants to hear!

Again, you know that.... we have to keep repeating it for those visitors (casual readers) that drop by and do not yet.

As fro Snowe, Graham, McCain.... they have gone against us far too many times in every context and it is only those way over the line RINOs I'm hoping to make the 2 cents Check RESIGN statement with/against - since it really does only cost me 2 cents a month per RINO. They are certainly NOT going to resign nor are they ever going to listen to us to vote the right way, they will continue to try and throw us a vote only enough to "calm us down" and not be so vocal about them - I don't want anyone letting up anymore. If we do not demonstrate, IMO, that we are willing to truly dog them and try to remove them (Primary preferred) then we don't have the full-force of our words when we ask/demand Conservatives work with us WITHIN the Republican Party to force it Conservative - we then appear duplicitous if we keep letting them off the hook.

Your point regarding this "Vote out of Committee" is taken.... Not a final Bill vote, a nuance Snowe has gone out of her way to imply with her "it may not be my vote later" quote all over the MSM. But in this case particularly, she knows darn well it is all about allowing the BI-PARTISAN BS SPIN and again allowed herself to be used (and/or to purposefully appear to set up that "duplicity" vote for Democrats in ME to have reason to vote for her). So while in many cases I would otherwise agree with your point on it - I cannot in this case! Was her vote even needed? Since when is the 60% rule required on Committee votes?!?!?! It would have been 13-9 if she just didn't vote or 13-10 with her NO vote --- still out of committee1

without her vote. Don't you get it yet? The Dems have an absolute, unbreakable majority in both House and Senate. They can pass anything they want to -- assuming they have the political courage to do it.

Giving them unnecessary Republican support -- with or without so-called "reservations" -- helps shore up that political courage.

This is NOT something Republican Senators should be doing.

So, just because some blue dawgs voted against this in committee, will not save them from my wrath if they vote for the final bill, so too if Snowe votes against the fianl bill, this interim vote will be irrelevant. I care about what gets enacted into law. PERIOD. I have indulged to many democrat conservative apologists in my life who would point to meanigless votes to justify their staying in the dem party.

But as for snowe and graham, there is already enough resons not to support them for re-election.

But as to the health care bill, I will hold people accountable for the final votes on the bill to make it law or not. Actual laws effect my life, not committee votes and floor speeches.

But as to the health care bill, I will hold people accountable for the final votes on the bill to make it law or not. Actual laws effect my life, not committee votes and floor speeches.

Got to where they are when the 17th amendment was ratified. That essentially made Senators dictators for life. The States representation in the federal government was removed and the unfunded mandates flowed like rain.

States rights were done.

A similar situation is setting up in Florida when Crist the media darling, will get in and vote for Democrat socialism every time. You want to know why Florida is broke, ask Crist. Crist wants to be Florida's Snowe.

Rubio is a stellar conservative ... help him if you can.

I thought you were saying Snowe's a slug! Salt dissolves slugs.

It's true; I tried it on a big fat slug once. It dissolved right in its tracks.

So put me in jail. I'll get three squares, free medical, and free roof over my head.

Given what the left has done and the climate they've created in this country, I don't think it's going to safer out here than 'in there.'

But they'll miss my taxes won't they?

Rock salt is good....but here's something else to try: removerinos.com . We're on a mission to defeat every RINO who ever runs in another GOP primary. Our main vehicle is a website, removerinos.com, aimed at compiling an e-mail list of 25,000 potential donors to any candidate who'll oppose Snowe and/or 22 other RINOs. With over 500 citations (2/3 from the ACU), it’s also one of the most informative sites on the subject of RINO voting records. After Snowe’s vote today, THIS truly is the time to start putting together donor lists to try to beat these RINOs. Please go to removerinos.com to see what you can do. We can still put a lot of pressure on Snowe's before the final vote.
