What is the life of an American soldier worth? President Obama apparently values it as little as he values defeating our enemies in Afghanistan.
The gap between President Obama’s thinking on Afghanistan and that of his chosen commander there, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, has grown from a crevice to a canyon. Unless President Obama is quickly brought to understand the need to defeat the Taliban decisively, he will make a decision on strategy and troop reinforcements that will be catastrophic to our national security.
The contrast between the two is stark.

Obama don't care about soldiers lives!

But Obama doesn’t care while our soldiers die! What kind of American commander and chief would do this to our troops? Answer: An Arrogant Commander and chief that cares only about himself. He has to be the center of attention.
Remember Obama has had this report on his desk from McChrystal since Aug.30,2009!
The question is this: Mr. President how many of our soldiers have to die before you make your decision? Or will you let Our brave Soldiers just hangout to dry with no visible means of support! Or will you choose the Biden Option and mess up everything?
Or will you wait till it get so bad in Afghanistan, that you will be fighting two enimies(Al-Qaeda ) and need more troops because Taliban is trying to take overNUCLEAR TIPPED WEAPONS IN PAKISTAN making the fight against just that more tough!
If the Taliban gets a hold of Nuclear Weapons in Pakistan...

What will happen will be much worse than Viet Nam if Biden acts like President Johnson(aka Gen. Johnson) and not as much let you bomb a target without his permission.
Not only will we lose the war ,but the taliban could end up taking over Pakistan
and have nuclear tipped missles! Now that is something Obama should worry about!
But in Obama’s world there is nothing more important than himself!

The stupid trial balloon that was floated (AQ is finished and Taliban is not our enemy) is the worst explanation that could be imagined. That’s just an attempt to run. Remember this war will be won or lost politically.
The more President Obama drags his feet the worse it looks.
This is a very complex situation and I think this administration is having a hard time understanding the implications.
This has survival of Pakistan also at stake. Assuming the administration punts Taliban will be emboldened and Pakistan will be under severe pressure to cave in to Taliban/extremists/factions of ISI/Army… Pakistan had always seen a special role (strategic depth) for itself in Afghanistan since the days of Zia Ul Haq. It’ll be easier for Pakistan Pols to give in to extremist elements than fight them. Pakistan can always use India excuse to move away from this conflict. Any weakness in this theater will be the greatest boost to terrorists worldwide. You can imagine worldwide celebration among terrorist elements throughout the world.
President Obama in not listening to his hand-picked commander now. The time for strategy was when he picked Gen. McChrystal. He needs to realize there are no middle grounds. In fact middle ground is the worst option. I am afraid that’s where the President might be headed.
BTW…. Isn’t Mullah Omar the same guy who risked everything for Osama Bin Laden? What makes anyone think Taliban and AQ are going to depart ways now?

We must end the politically correct rules of engagement that protect the enemy and kill our soldiers. No more safe havens for the Taliban or Al-Qaeda. Hiding behind women and children will no longer protect them. Charging up hills at our outposts will no longer be an option, because we won’t wait until we see the whites of their eyes to begin firing.
Sure we will suffer some bad pr at first. But eventually the population will learn to take matters into their own hands. With new rules of engagement, it will become kill, or be killed for the innocents.
If we are committing forces anywhere around the world, it must be done full bore or not at all. Hamstringing our forces with “sensitive” rules of engagement is not an option.
I won’t hold my breath waiting for this to happen.
