I have cousins in their 60s & 70s that supported him, one of us almost had a fight at a wake last September. I live in MA, am a Catholic, they are Catholic. I brought up Late Term Abortion on Demand, she insisted I show her where he supported that but not on Republican TV. I asked how she could vote for someone who is for abortion when we’re Catholic, she replied with the talking points that she supports a woman’s right to choose.

My now 82 year old mother is in a nursing home with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Five years ago she was home and it was starting to be a problem. Back then she told me that she wanted to call the TV stations to get those two jackasses off the TV because if “the stupid elderly people” listened to Kerry and Edwards, they would think they would lose their SS & Medicare, but she knew better and Bush would protect us.

Isn’t that sad? That a 77 year old woman with dementia and Alzheimer’s could see the phonies that Kerry & Edwards were but most adults couldn’t see what a phony Obama was?

While Obama’s award of the prize is absurd, Gore’s award was outrageous, pathetic and scandalous. Irena Sendlerowa was passed over for that greedy pompous snake oil salesman.

By this Peace Prize logic…. I should be GIVEN the last PowerBall Jackpot. It is NOT that I actually did the process of picking the right numbers, put forth the effort to play them, and watch for the resluts to confirm I’d won…. No, but it was my HOPE at the chance for Change in my Life that it was my Desire to make winning it so…. Therefore, my intentions and hopes should be good enough…. I’ll take that in Large Denominations please!

Jimcap, what makes you think Erick is wrong in his comment? Did Obama actually do something prior to February 1st that would garner a Nobel Peace Prize? Does the award have anything to do with being a back bench senator, and running a campaign of which the promises you make, you will break? Personally, i think Erick is dead on. This president did nothing to deserve this award. Which makes a mockery of the award, and turns it into nothing more than a political statement.

My opinion on keeping or pitching you… I haven’t been here long enough to really deserve a say, but here’s my proposal. We should give you until 4pm est to come up with a reason why Obama deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. If you can, you can stay. If not….
