there are A LOT of people out there who think, for instance, that Matt Damon really IS a genius since he once played one in a movie (yeah, I know, he went to Harvard. Still, he dropped out and his parents were rich, so he probably could have gone anywhere.)

Something else many people don’t realize is that there are A LOT of people with vested interests in keeping air-headed Hollywood actors, who are awash in dough, on the left politically.

Besides the obvious clout of the celebrity bully pulpit, these guys have lots of money to invest and lots of money to donate to charities. Indeed, to keep their tax bill down, they MUST donate to charity or find some other way of sheltering their money.

There are huge financial incentives for keeping these cash cows charged up with emotionally satisfying, but simplistic and morally indefensible socialist class warfare rhetoric. So basically, lots of trendy, left wing”activist” groups stand to lose big bucks if Hollywood ever went right.

Go forbid they should start donating to Christian causes, for instance, and speaking out for the rights of the unborn. Better millions to PETA and GLSTN than anything that smacks of conservative morality. How square would that be?
