Kill Obamacare Through a Backdoor

I went to a Virginia Conservative Campaign Fund party last night for Ken Cuccinelli, Bob McDonnell, and Bill Bolling.

If you will recall, in 1993 the Republicans took over Virginia. It was a clear signal to the nation that a backlash was coming against the Democrats. Consequently, the Democrats ran for cover and Bill Clinton’s liberal agenda was largely shut down.

If McDonnell, Bolling, and Cuccinelli sweep Virginia this year as Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General respectively, the same thing will happen. Democrats will run scared. Couple that with New Jersey and the willingness of Democrats to carry Barry O’s and Nancy’s water will greatly diminish.

Consider donating to the Virginia Conservative Campaign Fund by going here. They’ll target the money and help the candidates whose victories will mean the destruction of Obamacare.

It’s a backdoor defeat, but it is still a defeat.

Corzine has a new ad out today attacking Christie for throwing his weight around. Imagine is a Republican pulled this what press would do?

How are things in VA? It seems McDonnell is on defense? I am worried about this race now

The "Press"Doesn't Matter

Please, if I hear one more time a comparison of what the media would do if a conservative had done the same thing as a liberal, I’ll explode. The media has long ago thrown its lot n with the liberal movement and are no longer the fourth estate or watch dog of government. They are now part and parcel of the left wing and they have swallowed whole the left’s agenda. I view them as another arm of the left and see them as complicit as academia, Hollywood, and the unions in leaving no stone unturned in support of the Democratic party and its most virulent policies.

Why are you worried about the VA race pgop?...

JadedByPolitics (Diary) Thursday, September 24th at 5:41AM EST (link)

the 6 point lead that McDonnell had is down to 4 in a poll by the Post that in the first one used likely voters and in the second one used adults which of course means they are trying to make people think its close when the reality is McDonnell has the positive commercials and Deeds is running total negativity and if there is one thing Virginians don’t buy into it’s negativity in a campaign…..bottom line worry not!

The Washington Post endorsed Deeds

Scope (Diary) Thursday, September 24th at 8:38AM EST (link)

and ran the smear article about McDonnell’s 20 year old college paper. I wouldn’t trust any poll coming from them, no matter who they polled.

Echoing Jaded: McDonnell has a 4.5 RCP lead.

From what I see (not that you should take it to the bank), and especially if you take Deeds’ rather difficult past week (not to mention the groans greeting his harping on a 20 year old thesis showing that its sell-by date has passed),

The only positive thing for Deeds this week is that Wilder is (finally!) endorsing him – though how significant is a Democrat (even if a historic figure like Wilder) endorsing another Democrat supposed to be?

I think (and very much hope) this is the closest he’ll get to McDonnell’s numbers. Rasmussen’s next polls should show a much wider gap than the last.

From SW VA with all relatives still there and ancestors buried all over the place. Virginia will go McDonnell, although Deeds is in the middle of a media blitz. It is a referendum on Obama, and everyone outside of Fairfax, inner city Richmond and Charlottesville is against him.

McDonnel 53 Deeds 47

Good luck, Virginia

Yes, Virginia, there is a George Soros!

Do you really believe Soros would get this far into the takeover, and then just relinquish to the wishes of the voters of VA..?!! Do you really believe that we could spend enough $$ that HE couldn’t match it, redouble it, and put it in the right hands to secure a win, if it would be so crucial as to turn the tide on D,C.?!!

ACORN at the front door “covering” the votes; SEIU at the back, takin’ care of kneecaps… And let’s not forget MoveOn.org in the wings, “fixing the primaries” so all we get is a half-blood candidate, around which NO conservatives could rally.

They wrote that book many years ago, and now KNOW how to beat the voting-game…. guess we’ll just have to make a better plan…. Where’s an Elliot Ness.. an Ike… a Reagan…, when we need one, eh?!

Rudy Guiliani may still be our best bet for Pres!! Good luck, Virginia.

And exactly what does this contribute to this discussion? [nt]

I too think VA is a bellwether but i am totally fearin an acorn-soros vote recount which inevitably finds all kind of new voges for the leftie. How can we possibly protect our votes?

Polls

fayers (Diary) Thursday, September 24th at 7:38AM EST (link)

Why does every one worry about the polls taken by various news papers or any one else. They rigged just like the rest of the so called news that we get.
If a poll favors the libs you know its a lie.

I've thought for some time

Mayhem (Diary) Thursday, September 24th at 8:40AM EST (link)

that if we can delay this healthcare vote until after the first week of November, at least, that we can really scare some Blue Dogs into voting against it. The off-year elections in these two States may be our “pocket aces” in this battle to save freedom in America.

Working to delay this vote for another month and a half (or indefinitely…) should be a top priority of congressional Republicans.

James Madison, Jim DeMint, Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan… You get the picture.

I was little

proudgop (Diary) Thursday, September 24th at 9:07AM EST (link)

concerned due to the fact McDonnell was so up and now he is up within margin of error.

I am not in the state so all I know is this thesis has hurt him. I’d love to see last minute bombshell drop on Deeds

Whats status of the House of Delegates in Commonwealth? are we going to increase our slight majority?

I'd rather McDonnell were behind going into the election.

abbynormal Thursday, September 24th at 10:55AM EST (link)

I don’t think enough voters will be motivated enough to actually vote unless they believe their vote is needed to win.

This is also the first year voters in VA can vote absentee for just about any ol’ reason. Any speculation on what effect this may have on the election?

Nope. I'd prefer to be in front from the beginning to the end. [nt]

I'd shy away from using the term "backdoor" when discussing what we are going to do to the liberals.

Something tells me they just might get the wrong idea and get excited by the thought.

“Life is too short, can’t we all just eat pork and kill some terrorists?”

Wilder Refuses To Endorse Deeds

proudgop (Diary) Thursday, September 24th at 2:32PM EST (link)

Ater a dramatic week whose main function has been to call attention to former Richmond Mayor, and former governor, Doug Wilder, he announced today he won’t endorse Creigh Deeds, and that both candidates for his old job are “fine and honorable men.”

does this help us? lower african american turnout?

Whoa ... didn't see that one coming from Wilder. But if I were McDonnell ...

Martin Knight (Diary) Thursday, September 24th at 3:19PM EST (link)

… I’d continue running as if I was two points behind.
