What is most surprising to me is that this resolution to censure, which passed, was the same punishment most of these same Democrats wanted to give President Clinton regarding the Monica Lewinsky affair.

In other words, according to the Democrats it is equally bad for a Republican to call the President a liar on the House floor during a presidential speech as it is for a Democrat President to lie about a civil case in court.

So much for the rule of law. Go figure.

(Some might argue that it is even worse because Clinton was not officially censured, although I would not agree with this – the Dems didn’t push censure in the Clinton case partly because Clinton had already been censured through the impeachment vote.)

but this vote means nothing…and why there would be twice as many Dems who voted against it as there are Republicans who voted for it… plus 5 more Democrats who abstained…is beyond me!

All I can say is this to the Republicans in Congress…we need to be tit for tat…Republicans need to file petitions to censure every single Democrat who called Wilson names during this debate…and there should never again be a Democrat heckling a Republican President like they did Bush without Republicans filing bills to censure them!

he was rock solid. He’s very strong on Defense, that’s for sure. The only thing I can think of is that he is a tad pompous, so maybe he truly was upset about the breach of protocol. I can sort of respect that, accept that Congressman Wilson did apologize, twice!

I recently moved to Flake’s district from Colorado-yes I left a lot of work to do up there. It looks like I have work to do here now. I was just starting to think I might be able to forgive him for not being present for the cap and tax vote. But now this? I emailed and called his office and got voice mail. I will be calling again tomorrow. I hope we can find a viable candidate to challenge him in the primary. Any takers..??

What if Joe had thrown his shoes at the President? Having read the vitriol about the disrespect of the Office of the President here, I’d expect no less than condemnation toward both.

Like Obama (and the Dem. in whose district I live) I think the censure was stupid. The hypocrisy of the comments, however, is even stupider.
