The President of the United States Was a Cokehead

My headline is as relevant to the news today as this hit job on Joe Wilson.

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), who shouted “you lie!” at President Obama during his Wednesday night address to Congress, admitted to regularly consuming caffeine pills in 2007.

It is unclear if Wilson still takes NoDoz, a brand of pill that contains 200 milligrams of caffeine a pop. By comparison, a seven ounce cup of drip coffee contains 115 to 175 milligrams of caffeine.

At least Joe’s NoDoz are legal.

But then again, there isn’t anything to be sorry for.

I said it before: He did EXACTLY what I was doing all throughout the speech, er, lecture. He actually had more restraint than I did.

Maybe I should apologize also. I will just use Joe’s apology; it ‘fits’ for my situation, too.

BTW, all NoDoz will do to you is make you go pee a lot. Poor Joe. Bleeding Heart, and all that….

This is not good. Jordan Fabian’s story is pretty shady, but he’s a kid so to speak. He’s just an intern. He’s also the former co-editor of the Cornell Review. This is the conservative paper at Cornell.

Now you’re putting RedState up against some stupid report filed by an intern.

I urge a retraction.

We need to keep talking about the issues. Stay on the issues.

Okay

BEFORE THE ELECTION?

Don’t be foolish. Trying to demean the President with stuff in DoMF will not work.

What is turning the support for Obama is THE ISSUES.

You are gift wrapping the President’s poll savior by encouraging this.

Stick to the issues.

Overall, I agree with you and I think that overall the Wilson incident is a positive good

Mike gamecock DeVine (Diary) Friday, September 11th at 1:43AM EST (link)

Obama was called out in public for what is already a major known fact by the majority of Americans and the persuadable Reagan dems that appreciate such guts are made more likely to vote for republicans if they show a fighting spirit.

That Wilson apologized for a lack of decorum was good as well.

I do think many Americans that voted for Obama on the basis of hope and white guilt are thinking back to much of the stuff in Obama’s books (not the drug admission) and his statements and associations and connecting the dots and that he is probably permanently weakened.

But I guess I do agree that just because one press outlet sought to keep the focus on Wilson this way, does not mean that it is a net positive for us to highlight Obama’s past drug use.

Every time you see Joe Wilson mentioned the first thing we should be saying is “there is nothing in any of the 5 current bills that provides any enforcement mechanism to ensure that illegal aliens will not end up with subsidized care or forced to used “the exchange”. The President has said illegal aliens will not be covered, but this President has a poor record of telling the truth and lacks a plan of his own to address the 12 million illegal aliens that are presently using emergency rooms for their health care.”

Joe Wilson made a mistake by shouting. Joe Wilson apologized. The more we talk about Joe Wilson and the less we talk about the grounds for his outburst the greater the benefit to the President.

Reagan and Goldwater would go to the issues. Follow their lead. We cannot emulate TMZ driveby politicking. Obama and his supporters will win in this arena. They have no limits. We do.

Democrats call Republicans "racist" on a daily basis ...

Martin Knight (Diary) Friday, September 11th at 1:51AM EST (link)

… they accused Bush of organizing 9/11/.

… they went after Sarah Palin’s family and hounded her from office by attempting to bankrupt her.

… they’ve broken every single rule of decorum and decency in the book.

We can walk and chew gum at the same time.

So if you think we’re going to get hit without hitting back you’ve got another think coming. Quite frankly we’re sick and tired of idiotic “moderates” and other invertebrates who spend more time fretting that our side behave like perfect little ladies while turning a blind eye to the brutish behavior across the aisle.

PS: I’ve heard the “we should be better than them” whine countless times before. Don’t bother wasting your time re-whining it to me – I’ll never see any virtue in docilely taking abuse.

So go “stick to the issues” where someone gives a damn.

I figure that if I avoid biting off fingers during health care disputes...

“a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though…” page 93, “Dreams From My Father”

Obama is the first US President to make a public statement that he never used heroin. GHWB never denied it, Reagan, Truman, Eisenhower? Nor did they need to.

Can you really trust a President that’s stupid enough to admit that he’s a cokehead not to lie about his heroin habit?

Most libs are likely past or present coke users, so they welcome one of their own. Should we think about trying a boycott of The Hill advertisers, like libs did to Glenn Beck? Oh right, that worked out really well, we’d probably double their readership.

CAFFEINE? Seriously? This guy must be squeaky clean!

clowngirl (Diary) Friday, September 11th at 12:31AM EST (link)

LOL! Apparently if you’re a Republican who’s dangerously truthful pulling a few all nighters in college is enough to render you tainted.

Obama has appointees that are tax evaders, race baiters and communists but it’s still supposedly “the most ethical cabinet ever” but use of caffeine is supposed to make us hate Joe Wilson?

Cocaine’s fine for Obama – but Coca-cola is damning for his critics?

At some point, you think the liberal media will realize they’re making complete fools of themselves? I think it’s safe to say a large percentage of Americans drink coffee – many to excess. They’ll probably humanize Joe Wilson by mistake.

Wow, thanks to my affinity for iced tea

200 milligrams of caffeine a pill… good grief. So?

When it comes down to it, when in crunch time situations some of us are turning, habitually, to energy drinks with at least half again more caffeine than that.

I guess that’s not okay anymore; only if you’re to the left of Hugo Chavez and are using illicit narcotics do you get a free pass nowadays.

People around me agree: he would have never gotten a security clearance with his background. So we’re not surprised he never joined the military. He wouldn’t have been able to get it, Harvard degree or no Harvard degree. Even the background investigation for a SECRET would have doomed him.

clowngirl (Diary) Friday, September 11th at 12:49AM EST (link)

You know on Law and Order how certain topics, or even evidence is off limits unless the attorney opens the door by somehow bringing it up? “The Hill” doesn’t seem to have thought through the wisdom of raising the issue of substance abuse (not that I think No-Doze qualifies as that) making a person less fit to serve.

izoneguy (Diary) Friday, September 11th at 12:38AM EST (link)

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

In apparent effort to stay awake during session, lawmakers seen in now famous picture of Ct. legislative session on 8/31/09 where 2 reps are shown playing solitaire on their laptops and a third is looking at a picture of a Yankee pitcher on the ESPN website. Story in Hartford Courant. 9/1/09, picture by AP. The 2 playing solitaire have been identified as democrats. The baseball watcher wasn’t named I guess because only the screen was in the picture, not the lawmaker who was watching it.

Courage is never having to say you're sorry

Vannek Friday, September 11th at 1:38AM EST (link)

Of course the NoDoz attack is ridiculous, but I can’t rally support for Joe Wilson. HE SHOULD NEVER HAVE APOLOGIZED. The TV MSM in San Francisco is spinning the hell out of his

- “uncivil” behavior (never mind that the Dems booed Bush),
- how other Republicans are repudiating it (are too disorganized and self-serving to defend their own),
- his apology (acknowledging that he transgressed against the Messiah), and
- how such boorish behavior can only turn opinion in Obama’s favor.

Wilson’s apology (i.e., putting his tail between his legs and rolling over in submission) and any other Republican chastising him only sends signals of weakness to the salivating Left who’re sharpening their knives for the kill.

Wilson should never have apologized and other Republicans should be vigorously supporting his original action. What they hell is wrong with this Party? Doesn’t anyone have the courage of their convictions? What a disgrace to the memories of the Founding Fathers and Patriots who risked their careers and lives for our freedom.

I prefer my coffee and redbulls but back when I worked the nightshift so I could be home in the day with my kids I certainly used nodoz as well. has been working behind the scenes with Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske to create RedStarbucks, a proposed public option for coffee delivery. As former Seattle police chief, Kerlikowske has had a frontline view of the damage wrought by the rampant abuse of caffeine. He has seen officers on his own force succumb to the effects of “Dunkballing”, a deadly mix of coffee and crullers.

Joe and Gil had been expected to hold a press conference Monday to announce a pilot program for the distribution of Methadonut to addicts in metro Seattle. Apparently the program has been shelved indefinitely. As Moe would say, this is what they call a “coincidence” in Washington.
