Keith Olbermann is Television’s Norman Bates

Here is your laugh for the day.

Because of Glenn Beck’s success in forcing out Van Jones, Keith Olbermann has run crying to Daily Kos. He has decided he wants all the dirt he can get on not just Glenn Beck, but also Roger Ailes and Stu, Glenn’s producer. Keith is obsessed with Glenn. Why? Because he is jealous.

Keith, we can venture to say, also has some serious mom issues compounded by Glenn’s success. Why do you think he’s going after Stu? Clearly, Keith saw Stu dressed up as Linda Douglass. Like Norman keeping his skeletal mom in her rocking chair, seeing Stu in drag has done something to Keith’s already frail mental state.

So he’ll target Stu.

And Roger.

And Glenn.

There’s just one problem for Keith — no one watches his show. The ratings suck. It wouldn’t surprise me if more people hear about RedState and me each day than Olbermann. And he thinks he can take on Beck?

The fact is Glenn Beck has a large television and radio audience — vastly larger than Olbermann’s. And Beck has done something with his audience. He’s turned them into engaged activists, while Olbermann is dumbing down his audience and treating the rest of America like Janet Leigh in the shower.

Suck it up Keith.

He did not go to an Ivy League school. He went to Cownell.

According to the New York Post, his groupies say he can’t perform in bed. And when he can, it’s mercifully quick.

His finely tuned journalistic instincts, from all those years of fondling cows and pursing serious hard news sports stories. (Hard news and sports?) failed to help him realize he was collaborating by phone on a baseball book with a boy who did not exist and who was actually a woman.

He is also a tax cheat:

TAXING TIMES FOR OLBERMANN
June 2, 2008
PROFESSIONAL angry person Keith Olbermann favors tax-and-spend liberals, but he didn’t pay his own taxes. New York state issued a tax warrant against the MSNBC host for $2,269.50 in back taxes owed by his personal corporation, Olbermann Broadcasting Empire Inc.

Forward that to Glenn Beck so he can fire the first shot

Indeed Glenn is organizing, educating and leading the charge! Yesterday, briefly talked with my next door neighbor—-they said they have Fox on 24/7 and Glenn has led the way for them. They’re going to DC 9/12! I dare say Glenn has out-organized the organizer-in-chief! The radical marxist left wing Dems—like the finger eater—the seiu thug that beat the black conservative in St. Louis—-are being smoked out and exposed to the unaware middle regular Dems and they’re realizing their party has been hijacked. Most of the Dems I know who are paying attention are not liking what they’re seeing! There’s too many of us woke up—–spreading the word—–and educating the uninformed middle—-and when they pay attention to the state run media—-and see what’s really going on——it’s such a stark contrast they know they’ve been duped and they’re mad as hell!! And, the more the Dem politicians call them names—-gas on the fire! A see a house cleaning coming!

I like Glenn Beck.

Beck did go too far in seeing "monsters in the closets" when it's just paintings

archer52 Sunday, September 6th at 5:51PM EST (link)

First, I’m a big Beck fan. He’s doing more with less than any other media type, including “pantywaist” O’Reilly. I heard criticism of him calling him insane and I defended Beck, saying he isn’t crazy just obsessed in trying to make a point he fears nobody else sees.

We all know people like him, on occasion, we have all been guilty of being the one who goes, “Can’t you see it! It’s right there in front of your face!” I know I’ve been pulled aside as a younger man and told to “calm down” when being passionate about a point, and thinking no one else got it but me. Trouble was, I was missing the crux of the problem. I thought if I could just make them see they would care. The truth was they saw it and still didn’t care.

Trouble with Beck is this. He’ll end up his own worst enemy, while being right all along. That is because every person out there knows this type of personality, and they all know, or think they know, sooner or later that personality will go off the deep end. It’s like watching a man walk the edge of a building’s roof, worrying he might slip at any moment, it’s tiring.

Beck’s little side trip down the “meanings in the paintings” exercise was one of those moments. I shook my head and said, “Ah h**l, this one is going to hurt.” Beck wants us to seeing the meaning of this work as it reveals the mindset of Rockefeller and the rest of the lefties in America. Sure the artist who did the work and the people who commissioned it were commies and leftists, so what? It was fashionably sheik to be a commie back then. Great way to meet loose women, and everybody wanted to be cool. You probably couldn’t paint a scene or carve a lump of marble without someone asking if Lenin’s face was in it somewhere.

My worry was, and is, that Beck’s side trip into Dan Brown’s world of codes, angels and demons, put Beck’s credibility at stake, at a time where he is actually right far more than he is wrong. (For example, Olbermann can attack Beck’s analysis, but doesn’t attack his findings on Van Jones and the others.)

Here’s the truth of the matter, when you get like Beck you start seeing monsters in every closet. Trouble is, sometimes there is nothing in the closets other than dark, dusty, used up things that smell from time and neglect-.much like communism and the rest of the long ago disproved ideas.

You have to be careful when you scream monster too many times, nobody will believe you and when a real one does show up, you’ll be alone. And believe me, in this day and age, in this administration’s plans, there are monsters aplenty.

I have to disagree with you archer...

JadedByPolitics (Diary) Sunday, September 6th at 7:12PM EST (link)

I had no clue that the communists/socialists were that ingrained in our society and for so long. I always feel that Glenn is going to break too but I think its because he is SO ALARMED at what he is learning and he cannot believe that it has always been this way. I will watch him as long as he keeps talking about the MONSTERS that are infecting our government and I applaud him for doing what no one else will do. He is doing the oldstream media’s job and I look forward EVERYDAY to learning something new about our country and the tools who want the BLOW the house down and remake it in their image.

unwarranted superiority complex. Your pseudo-intellectual falderol might impress other intellectual-wannabes, but is, in reality, boring and annoying, not to mention incoherent. You also should not use words you cannot spell. Such as “chic.”

Glenn Beck is a professional. He didn’t just begin yesterday. He knows exactly what he is doing, and he certainly does not need amateur, long-range psychiatric evaluation from you. Are you so taken with yourself that you think you know anything about Glenn Beck?

You have never met the man, you are not an intimate, friend, or even an acquainance. You know only what you see and hear second hand on TV and radio, and here you are expounding like Freud.

Your entire frame of reference is glittering generalities, i.e., “we all know … ,” and, “we all have been guilty of …” This is the kind of drivel that begins every liberal/socialist/communist peroration.

Speak only for yourself. Do not ever deign to speak for me. Your experience is your experience, thank God it ain’t mine.

As history can readily show you, it was never “chic” to be a communist and attempt to bring down the United States of America. It was insidious, secretive, and dangerous. That is why a law was passed against it. Your naivete is matched only by your total misreading of history.

It took decades to ferret out the communists in the U.S. federal government. Communists, by the way, whose handiwork caused incredible problems for the people of our nation, not the least of which was the Cold War, which threatened, on a number of occasions, to turn into a Hot War.

“The truth of the matter” is that you are not just misinformed, you are also uninformed. There are many people like Jaded who did not understand the depth of the treachery perpetrated by these traitors. If you are unable to connect the dots and see that they are still among us, and still doing their dirty work (how do you think Brobama got elected?), then you are not someone I want to count on to defend my freedom!

If Glenn Beck had not “gone off the deep end,” do you think Van Jones would have resigned? Do you have any idea how many Van Joneses are in Brobamas administration? How many of those unnamed “appointed” Czars are of the Van Jones stripe? How many damned “Czars” are there, anyway?

Of course, you don’t know the answer to any of those questions. Yet you are willing to toss off being a communist as some sort of dilettante club initiation. You deride people who see “communists under the bed,” so to speak.

Bad news for you Archer52, they are actually there, just as Joe McCarthy said they were. In fact, our president is one! Try and wrap your brain around that!

Glenn Beck can take care of himself. He has been doing so all his life without your help. One of the things that the liberals/socialists/marxists cannot stand is being ridiculed. Like Rush, Glenn Beck does an excellent job at that. Save your phony concern for his, and our, enemies.

Glenn Beck is not “insane,” but someone who thinks that “insane” is a criticism, and not an insult, really needs to have HIS head examined.

I'm glad Glen is talking about the monsters too.

penguin2 (Diary) Sunday, September 6th at 10:01PM EST (link)

He just decided it was about time someone opened the closet doors. I don’t doubt for a moment that he knows exactly what he is doing. It is obvious his contract with FOX (compared to CNN) allows him free reign. He is a man who truly believes that evil has befallen this country. We’ve believed it too, but until now have been powerless to do anything about it. Beck and others, as well as sites like our RS, are enabling us to do something.

He probably decided, like the rest of us, what do we have to lose? If we do nothing evil triumphs and the monsters win. I don’t want them shoved back into the closet this time. I want them destroyed.

Defending Beck doesn't mean not worrying about him.

archer52 Monday, September 7th at 12:52AM EST (link)

Jaded by Politics and goldenpres both have taken the position I am somehow;

1. attacking Beck
2. A pseudo-intellectual

I am neither. I am a veteran police detective just retired who has dealt with thousands upon thousands of people; victims, suspects and witnesses. Through it all, I have found one rule applies- People are people. They have certain tendencies, certain quirks, and certain behaviors. It is just what it is. In my job it was my responsibility to be able to read them, in order to find justice and sometimes just stay alive. I didn’t get a degree, nor had a pin-headed professor teach me anything. But I still learned what I learned. Since I’m still here, I must have figured something out.

JadedbyPolitics says he had no clue that the communists/socialists were so ingrained in our society. He is joined by millions of decent citizens all across the country who look for the best in others. Is Beck doing a yeoman’s work? Absolutely and will go down in recent history as one of the people who did make a difference.

But, he was not the first to know about them, just the latest who has found a voice. Also, the environment is markedly different than thirty years ago, a lot of that change as the end result of the progressive effort. These people aren’t stupid nor impatient. They have been working in this direction for years.

I’ve said this before, Obama is the linchpin. He has come along at a time when we were thought to be ripe for massive change. A perfect candidate in a critical moment. Or so the progressive thought. But they may have underestimated the strength of character still within the country. We’ll see how long all of us can keep up the effort. People tire, people become unfocused, and I think that is part of Beck’s worry.

As for goldenpres,

I have two things to say,

1. Before you judge whether or not I’m on board, visit my novel’s website and read up. www.revoltthebook.com. You’ll see I saw this coming twelve years ago when I penned the original manuscript. We’ve been at war with the progressive for decades, we just didn’t see it until now, because now they have decided to pull the pin and toss a grenade over the wall.

2. I think you miss my point here. I’m not critical of Beck, who I watch every day, often with tears of laughter as he pokes holes in the left’s way of thinking, because I don’t like him. It is the exact opposite, I want him to last. This is a marathon, not a sprint. When I say I know people like him, I am saying I can be like him, especially when I was younger. As can anyone who is passionate about something. The difference is as I got older I gained a better handle on how I approached the passionate subjects.

I also work real hard to apply common sense to my life. It helped me make the right choices many times and solved a great number of conflicts. I learned how to apply it in the real world, not in the passionate “it should be this way” world.

You don’t think Beck needs someone to pull him aside and say, “Brother take a breath before you explode.”? I’ll bet money his wife does, as do his friends (or they aren’t very good friends). You have friends or co-workers like him. He’s not a saint or a god, or any different than you or I. Everybody needs a steadying hand. I’m sure at some point your grabbed somebody’s elbow and said, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” and managed to save them from a bad situation. In essence that is what I was trying to get across.

If I am guilty of anything, it is that I’m a worrier. Remember, we in our small non-public lives, can screw up repeatedly and nothing will happen. Beck on the other hand, is under a microscope. He makes a mistake, the left, the MSM, and the rest will jump all over it. They will pound him with it trying to persuade not his fans, which are loyal, but the middle ground who don’t know who he is and he is trying to get to. If that is the case, why shoot yourself in the foot? Why give them ammo?

Beck is in a TRE (target rich environment). He has plenty of people, policies and actions he can attack successfully, and not give one bullet to the other side for retaliation. However, as I said, and stand by, his side street detour into the world of symbols on paintings and sculptures was an error. Not that he was wrong, but because, in the real world he lives in he comes across as stepping out too far. Too many people who don’t really know what he is doing (and believe me I’ve actually run into people who have never heard of him) will dismiss him because of it. Remember, we live in the world of UFO’s and Da Vinci Codes, and conspiracy novels. It just is the way it is, and people make judgments based on these things. The worse thing Beck can have happen is being successfully lumped into that group.

As for him being insane. He’ s crazy like a fox. But he is also in rarefied air. Don’t think a single statement or a small series of statements won’t harm him? Ask Imus, Jimmy the Greek (if you remember him), and others who said a harmless word or statement and were ruined.

As for ferreting out communists etc. We never finished the job because it can’t be done. Not in the type of society we have. Our strength is our weakness and those who want to destroy the nation will use it against us.

As for being “chic” to be communists, the history has been written that yes, many “joined the movement” to be included in something radical. Not that they really understood the evil it held. I’ve known them, and by and large, they have long ago toss aside any notion of communism. David Horowitz is an example of this.

You are right, others, the serious heavy hitters, the true believers are devious and dangerous. But they don’t design paintings and sculptures. They design laws and rules and regulations, and curriculum for your kid’s schools. They join eco-groups and the Catholic church, because they know that is one of many ways to influence society without being exposed. The last thing they would do, until they were ready, is operate in the open or draw attention to themselves. They learned from their past mistakes as you pointed out in your response.

Would Van Jones been tossed if Beck hadn’t spent time on sculptures and paintings? Yes. Beck had him right where he wanted him, without the side trip. (Notice Olbermann seized on the paintings, not on the Van Jones facts) Is it important to understand how long the progressives have been with us? Yes, and I learned a great deal from Beck’s reporting. I didn’t even understand all of it myself, even though I’ve been watching closely for many years. And for people like JadedByPolitics it is very important to gain perspective because that is the first thing lost when you find yourself caught in a revolution.

I understand why you feel I may have cheapened Beck’s efforts, but you have it wrong. Beck must not cheapen Beck’s efforts. He has to choose his targets, get the facts right (which he has) and keep focused. Whether he needs my help isn’t important here. The original article was about Olbermann’s reaction.

Finally, as you think I don’t know what I’m talking about, I spent a long time inside the world where bullets pierce flesh, I have made many good friends who have stood in that desert a half a world away. I even have one on his way back now and I inquired if he was interested in doing some personal security work for Beck months ago, before I heard Beck mention that he had already taken care of it.

So no, I don’t take this lightly. Here’s the latest post on my site dealing with this very subject.

spainishirish (Diary) Tuesday, September 8th at 4:37PM EST (link)

Olbermann has zero credibility, which is why his appeal doesn’t transcend his role as moonbat cheerleader at DK or HuffPo. Beck is lucky in his enemies.

When you write:

“I thought if I could just make them see they would care. The truth was they saw it and still didn’t care.

“Trouble with Beck is this. He’ll end up his own worst enemy, while being right all along. That is because every person out there knows this type of personality, and they all know, or think they know, sooner or later that personality will go off the deep end. It’s like watching a man walk the edge of a building’s roof, worrying he might slip at any moment, it’s tiring…”

I think you make two big mistakes.

The first is the projection of your experience onto Beck. The truth is many cared when Beck exposed a rank communist and psychopath–but I repeat myself–in the Obama cabinet. Those who not only see but don’t care are those like Olbermann, and they really don’t matter in the scheme of things in the post-MSM world. As you point out, their instinct is to silence rather than to respond. Beck just got very, very, very hard to silence and the number of people who care about what he has to say has skyrocketed now.

Closely related to the previous point is that people have stopped waiting for Beck to slip and have started to see who he will make fall next. Make no mistake, and I’m no rabid watcher or fan, he’s obviously loaded for bear. I would be much more worried about my next gig if I were Olbermann. If I were Beck, not so much.

Glenn Beck

Hera Sunday, September 6th at 10:07PM EST (link)

The left is in a tizzy over Glenn Beck. Over at the Huffington Post there’s a column titled “Glenn Beck Gets His First Scalp”.Unlike Keith Olbermann, Beck actually has viewers and influence. One lefty linked to a town hall youtube in which a woman asked about the Apollo Alliance. The GOP congressman had no idea what the Apollo Alliance” is and audience members said “asked your Green Czar Van Jones”. Beck had just done an expose on Van Jones and the Apollo Alliance.

Suck it, Keith.

I would think we should send Olbermann all we can

Brad Smith (Diary) Sunday, September 6th at 11:44PM EST (link)

This could be great fun. KO asks us to, “find everything you can about Glenn Beck, Stu Burguiere, and Roger Ailes.” He could get millions of emails:

Dear Keith,
Glenn Beck is a successful radio and television talk host.

Dear Keith,
Roger Ailes is the President of a successful news network.

Dear Keith,
You asked for “everything [we] can find about Glenn Beck. I hope this will be helpful:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenn_Beck

etc .etc

Dear Keith,

Maaaajor heads-up here:

Glenn Beck was the ghostwriter of “The Pet goat” which was the true name of the story which Bush was reading to those kids on 9/11. Beck’s fingrprints are all over the popular myth that Bush was reading a book called “My Pet Goat”. In fact, the story Bush was reading was but one of many in a collection.

Why is this important? Well, Before the students start reading the story, the teacher states, “Open your book up to Lesson 60 on page 153.” Now, if the teacher had merely said; “Open your books to page 153″, we would have only one point of data, “153″, on which to fix and rotate aimlessly. But the teacher, unknown to her–but not to author Glenn beck–gave us that critical second point, “60″. As anyone who has taken basic geometry knows. the connection of two points is a line…and that line points straight to this:

60 is the number of degrees in each angle of an equilateral triangle…and a pyramid has triangular sides! Now here is the really mind-blowing part:

Each side of the pyramid at the Louvre is covered by 153 losanges and 18 triangles, meaning the value of 324 triangles—IF 1 losange qualizes 2 triangles. For the four faces, that makes 324 x 4 = 1296 triangles. However, 1296 is the square of 36.

Numerologists have made a surprising observation: 1296 is exactly the number of years that the French Monarchy lasted, from the Baptism of Clovis in 496 to the establishment of the Republic in 1792:

The kicker?

1792 – 496 = 1296

Feel free to run with it. It’s an honor to do your legwork, Keith.

Analogies

OccamsRazor (Diary) Monday, September 7th at 1:33AM EST (link)

What’s amusing to me is while the koskids go after Beck’s advertisers, markos makes a damn good dime off of his site.

After surfin’ there for years prior to here, I know for a fact that’s what he enjoys most.

I also submit that, if it came down to it, Erickson would run RedState.com out of his own pocket, whereas markos would not.

I believe it....

jackhammer Monday, September 7th at 5:15AM EST (link)

Does anyone live near markos….I had seen his posts about what minivan to buy, and then his post that he would be putting off that purchase until the economy picked up….my bet…he bought himself a Mercedes R Class or soemthign liek taht, but wants to cover it so his readers don’t take out their class hatred jealousy on him.

I Recollect

OccamsRazor (Diary) Wednesday, September 9th at 4:27AM EST (link)

How happy these pissants were, who followed koskids, who posted this sign upon Orellieys yard. This piss-ant actually had pictures of ORielly coming out into his front yard, a normal American like the rest of us. Orellielly simply remove the defamatory sign, collected his paper and went inside.

Go Glenn!

I applaud Glenn for speaking the truth! Olbermann’s ratings are in the tank and they deserve to be in the toilet. The truth shall always set you free!!!! Go FOX!

Oh, Keith...

wildirishmeg (Diary) Tuesday, September 8th at 1:33PM EST (link)

Keith, you are a sad, sad man. You aren’t worthy to scrape the gum off the bottom of Glenn’s shoes, and you know it. Keep up the self-deluded “my ratings are higher than your ratings” lunacy… Maybe someday you’ll convince someone else that the facts are less pertinent than your own self-aggrandizement.
Best wishes in crazy Keith-ville!

and I swear I was just thinking that the dirtier the fight gets (speaking here of the specific wars on Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Palin) the more urgent it is for our side to duplicate the success of all of these folks, Malkin, Levin, etc etc etc.

We need more of these types of media patriots, rebels or whatever you will. Then, I thought, in past decades, there were people who took the Reagan path and went from radio/tv to politics. Now that Limbaugh has set the pattern, these folks may also stay in the alternative media and destroy the lamestream directly. All good news for us. As Rush has always said, he does not need to be elected and can do much more in the fight where he is.
