To: contact@redstate.comHow much are you folks getting paid by the pharmaceutical industry to oppose the good health care that the American people need and deserve?
Actually, the pharmaceutical industry is working with the White House on this one.

How do these people come up with such
Right_Again (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 12:12PM EST (link)tough questions? It must be a challenge to be so uninformed.
The last time I checked, good health care is what we are supporting. It is the government-run (Medicare/Medicaid both approaching bankruptcy) brand of healthcare we oppose. It would be nice if everyone who wishes to have healthcare could have it. I just prefer not paying more only to see my healthcare end up worse.
I favor tort reform and portability of insurance from state to state. I would like to see some reform to help people still get some form of insurance if they have a pre-existing condition. I would as little federal government involvement in the healthcare industry as possible. Once there is a government option, without a profit-motive it would kill competition and drive up costs for everyone.
Good health care that the American people need and deserve?
izoneguy (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 12:13PM EST (link)85% of Americans are happy with the healthcare they have.
I am tired of a 10% minority of people ruining everything.
10% ruined the housing market.
The 10% are the ones that need to get with the program….
The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.
Who deserves health care?

janis (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 12:48PM EST (link)For all the anxiety that too many Americans wouldn’t stand up against the tyranny of this government, things could not have worked out better so far. This bunch has shown themselves so nakedly that no one outside the MSM could deny it. Thugs, thieves, liars, cheats, racists, bigots, and bullies, come one, come all to the Carnival of the Tyrants.
Their side has to be paid to stand up, has to have its signs done “for it” instead of “by it.” Our side observes, informs, asks questions, insists on transparency, then shows up to behave as their conscience dictates, often ending up in deserved anger for the amount of deceit that they’ve been dealt in exchange for intelligent questions.
Our belief in freedom inform our actions. Their only belief is in the money and the power. It’s one of the reasons they so often overstep, I think. With no true moral compass to guide them, any action to get what they want is usable, often desirable in their eyes.
On transparency:
TNJim (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 1:06PM EST (link)Interesting how the left is getting so worked up over our insistence that this administration and Congress live up to that particular campaign promise. How dare we insist that promise be fulfilled!
No true moral compass, all too true, neighbor. That’s how you get bitten off fingers at a health care protest rally. Did they get what they wanted out of that? Possibly, since the MSM tried to cloud what led up to it and even whose finger got bitten off. They’ll sink to whatever depths they can to generate that kind of propaganda and not even care.
As to those depths they can sink to, TNJim,
janis (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 1:22PM EST (link)does it seem to you as though Obama & Co. are behaving as if they either don’t care what the majority of Americans want, or don’t believe we have a clue what’s good for us? Sometimes I think they could be this clueless, the majority of the time though, I believe they are acting as though they never intend to give up power and so it doesn’t matter to them what we feel, believe, or care about.

TNJim (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 1:46PM EST (link)But I’m leaning more toward the “don’t believe we have a clue what’s good for us” angle. Lefties always think they know what’s best in such an arrogant fashion it boggles the mind. From doing away with the popular with parents DC voucher program to pushing back against home-schoolers because they (the left) think public
indoctrination centersschools are the best way, to insisting on this public option nonsense, to publishing photos of a dying soldier because they think it’s important, forget the family’s wishes. As to never intending to give up power, I’m afraid we’ll see voter fraud attempts in 2010 and ’12 that will make what happened in Nevada and Pennsylvania last year with ACORN and the NBP look like a cakewalk.
I’m getting ready for a fight. I emailed my local GOP party HQ yesterday asking for information on getting involved. Cold Warrior had some influence on that, but this “We know what’s best for you” attitude from the leftist O-ministration and Congress had more to do with it. It’s the one thing I can thank them for.
Heck, I wouldn't mind a check right now.

Usually they ignore me or give me a blank stare.

Michael M. Keohane (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 1:07PM EST (link)such ignorance in this day and age of the internet.
Obviously, he learned all about economics, finance and general business practices from those two shows for intellectually “gifted” Liberals – Captain Planet and Duck Tales.
Who would be so cruel as to try to inflict a “reality dose” on him? Just get him a bigger box of play dough and increase his trank allowance.
Imagine what would happen if he suddenly gained the ability to read and understand basic economics, financial reports and business news. Of course, that won’t happen. as William F. Buckley remarked when someone suggested the God remove the “rose colored glasses” that Murray Kempton wore, “God would not be that unkind.”
Do not classify the words or deeds of your opponents as being hatefull, malicious or criminal in nature if they can also be easily characterized as simple ignorance or gross stupidity. Anon.
"Health Care" vs. "Health Insurance"
Alone_in_the_Dotte Saturday, September 5th at 1:12PM EST (link)I’m growing weary of the Left’s intentional obfuscation of the two terms. We must make the point clear that Health Care and Health Insurance are not the same thing! “Health Care” is readily available to anyone in this country. Hospital ER’s must treat everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. For minor ailments, we can see a Nurse Practitioner at the corner CVS for around $50. And I’d say that most ailments can be treated quite handily by a $4 generic ‘script WalMart. We have an abundance of “health care” options in this great country, and there’s darn few that go without. It might mean making a decision between having cable TV or seeing the doctor, but it’s available for anyone.
“Health Insurance” should be reserved for catastrophic illnesses-cancer, heart attack, stroke, et al, not the routine sinus infection.
I had a doctor friend, great saxophone player, now deceased. He told me in 1999 or 2000 that he could open a storefront practice and see sore throats all day for $10 each and make a nice living. He’d seen enough sore throats that he didn’t need tests to tell the difference between strep and a garden variety sore throat. But because of lawsuits, he couldn’t do that. He was forced to CYA and run test after test just in case the lawyers came knocking. And that’s finally what caused him to retire-the day he got another frivolous lawsuit, he called it quits and closed his practice. Tort reform must be a central part of any “health insurance reform.”
If you google free health care you will see
4life (Diary) Saturday, September 5th at 9:03PM EST (link)that there are seemingly endless places to receive free care. There is even a site (If I remember right www.freehealthcamps.com) where you can type in your zip code and see all the clinics that offer free care in your area. And lets not forget the great work the Shriners hospitals do treating very ill kids for free. We are a generous people! We treat our sick even if they cannot pay! There is something going around on facebook that goes something like “no great society lets its poor go without quality health care”. Well, we don’t. And our generousity is the fruit of our freedom and not ‘cost controlled’.
Some are obfuscating, others are just parroting
tanstaafl1019 Tuesday, September 8th at 5:28PM EST (link)For many people, at some point, health insurance and health care became interchangeable terms. The logic was that without health insurance, there could be no health care–and, I suppose, vice versa to an extent.
We don’t turn replacement light bulbs in on our homeowners’ policies; we don’t insist that our auto insurance policies pay for tune-ups. Yet a doctor’s office visit is not just covered, but for most people an office visit and a co-pay are linked at the core.
As an aside, I saw it pointed out the other day that a lot of people pay more to get their hair cut/styled than they do to visit their doctor. And yet they want free health care, but don’t bat an eyelash at dropping $75 or so at the salon. I guess good hair is more important than good health.
The two highest achievements of the human mind are the twin concepts of “loyalty” and “duty.” Whenever these twin concepts fall into disrepute—get out of there fast! You may possibly save yourself, but it is too late to save that society. It is doomed.

Another genius from the left
publiussteve Saturday, September 5th at 1:52PM EST (link)I see that the drone “normal guy 545″ is yet another example of the brainpower of the left. Anyone with half a brain can easily find this or something similar (written by Mike Allen from Politico, 8/13/09):
“A new coalition on Thursday launched $12 million in television ads to support President Barack Obama’s health reform plan, in the opening wave of a planned tens of millions of dollars this fall. The new group, funded largely by the pharmaceutical industry, is called Americans for Stable Quality Care…
PhRMA’s participation is key, because the group has promised to kick in as much as $150 million for advertising and grass-roots activity to help pass the president’s plan.”
